Yuriko is a family friend of the Hoshikawa family, having been friends with the parents prior to becoming Gaku's confidante. She is the only woman who knew about Gaku's sacrifices in looking after and taking care of his younger siblings after they fled Sidon for Earth and helped him deal with problems in keeping this secret from his brothers and sisters.
