Yoshua "Yoshi" Sudarso is an Indonesian-American actor, model, and stuntman who portrayed Koda, the Blue Dino Charge Ranger in Power Rangers Dino Charge. and Joe Shih, the Silver Time Force Ranger/Green HyperForce Ranger in Power Rangers Hyper Force.

Sudarso also the suit-actor for several Rangers in public live-shows before Dino Charge,, and continued to suit-act for several unidentified Rangers afterwards.

Biography

Sudarso and his brother were born in Jakarta, Indonesia to Chinese parents, where they later moved to Los Angeles at a young age. He was initially studying for a math and accounting degree before switching to theater.

Personal life

• His younger brother is Peter Sudarso, who played his Blue Ranger successor Preston Tien in Power Rangers Ninja Steel. Both have an older brother named Chris, who isn't in the entertainment industry.
• Sudarso has been married to his wife, Sarah Garcia Sudarso since 2015. Their son Sylas was born on November 24, 2020.

Notes

• The original version of the Dino Charge opening titles incorrectly credited Sudarso as under his birth name.
• Sudarso is the third actor to appear in new footage of both Power Rangers and Super Sentai (as opposed to reusing Super Sentai footage for Power Rangers), after Machiko Soga and Ami Kawai. A few caveats make Sudarso's appearance unique:
  • Sudarso is the first to appear in Power Rangers then Super Sentai (Soga and Kawai appeared in Zyuranger then Zyu 1.5).
  • Sudarso was the first to be filmed by both the Power Rangers and the Super Sentai film crews (Zyu 1.5 was footage for the first season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers but was shot by Toei).
  • Sudarso is the first whose two roles are not connected. Soga and Kawai appeared in Zyu 1.5 as Witch Bandora and Lamy respectively from Zyuranger so there would be more footage to use as Rita Repulsa and Scorpina respectively for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. By contrast, there is no stated connection between Yoshi's unnamed Ninninger character and either Koda or his Kyoryuger counterpart Nobuharu Udo.
    • Additionally, in the scene Sudarso appeared in, his character was saved by Yakumo Kato/AoNinger, who's Power Rangers counterpart is played by his brother.
• Sudarso and his brother Peter both performed their own unique version of the traditional Hand-Off in Super Sentai.
• On November 7, 2024, Sudarso confirmed on his Twitter account he was a Ranger suit actor some three years prior to landing the role of Koda. On the show, he has worn the Ranger suits of 8 different characters: Gold Samurai, Red Ninja Storm, Blue Megaforce, Red Megaforce, Robo Knight, Red S.P.D., Red Mystic, Blue Samurai, Green Samurai, Red Samurai, Blue Megaforce, Black Dino Charge, Green MMPR, Red MMPR, and Blue MMPR (movie) but not for the primary show but as only for side events.
