Yokai Umibozu (妖怪ウミボウズ Yōkai Umibōzu, lit. "Sea Bonze") was a Yokai who served the Kibaoni Army Corps. He was known as "Sea Monk Umibozu" in his introductory credit.
History[]
Created by Masakage Tsugomori when he infects an inflatable raft with a Sealing Shuriken whilst protected by a Gama Gama Gun blocking dome, Umibozu ia tasked with a mission to kill Kinji due to him being the newest obstacle for the Yokai. Umibozu attempts this by luring him with the illusions of his late brother and father, causing him to chase them into a mist until his life runs out. In the illusion, Kinji falls into despair, believing that he wasn't capable of becoming Yoshitaka's pupil until the other Ninningers free him and encourage him.
Kinji teams up with the rest to destroy the werewolf and escape Umibozu's illusion. The team quickly obliterates the Jukkarage and defeat Umibozu with the Starlight Fusion Slash, unlocking Surfermaru's Nin Shuriken in the process. As the giant Umibozu is too far away to attack with Shurikenjin, AkaNinger summons Surfermaru who overpowers the Yokai before creating Shurikenjin Surfer which is able to destroy Umibozu for good with the Surfer Waveriding Strike.

Umibozu is among ten Yokai who appear alongside Kyuemon and the Western Yokai Wolf Man to Kinji in his vision after he has transformed into the reincarnation of the Wolf Man, all bearing his face. When Kinji overcomes his fear and doubt, and thus his Yokai side, he uses the Demon Sword Urasame to vanquish all the illusionary Yokai and return to the real world. - Illusion Fog: Umibozu could summon a fog cloud that reflected the scariest moment in the victim's life, luring them into the sea where they would be forced to chase after it until they died.
