Yanma Gast (ヤンマ・ガスト Yanma Gasuto) is the cunning president of Nkosopa who transforms into Tombo Ohger (トンボオージャー TonboŌjā), the Blue Ranger of the King-Ohgers.

History[]
Past[]
Before rising to the top, when Yanma was still a little boy living in the slums he met Gin, being enamored and interested with computers, he would become Yanma's mentor and thought him all the trick and trade that he has accumulated over the years.
After taking up the spot of Gin, Yanma would continue his legacy of tinkering with technology until one day Shiokara, Akka, Usuba, and Mayuta came to him asking if he could distinguish real or fake money to which he replied saying that he was fed up with them throwing them around so he just made a machine that could differentiate them which in turn caused their illegal business to be shutdown. They would proceed to beat him up for his actions but would not fight back and protect his laptop, proclaiming that technology would accelerate in its development.
Sometime later he would be captured by them and would be confronted by Suji for his actions towards him and his faction, without fear he would stand against him and his actions. Being tired Suji commands Shiokara to finish Yanma off but in turn Yanma would give him a change of heart and would lead a small revolution, rising to the top as the new ruler of N'Kosopa.

Present[]
Yanma is the president of Nkosopa. During the Wrath of God attack 15 years ago, when Nkosopa had been decimated, he grew up in the slums, due to the attack hitting the land hard. His mentor, Gin, taught him how to repair computers and the technology from the slums. At one point, he finally created his main laptop rigging, later known as Top Computer, that he still uses to this day.
Alas, Yanma's journey to rebuilt N'Kosopa from Zero didn't start well. At one point, he came across Shiokara, who at that time is still working to a counterfeiter boss named Suji, alongside with Akka, Mayuta and Usuba. Shiokara initially hates Yanma since the latter successfully created a machine to point out the counterfeit money they produces. However, Yanma's tenacity, determination and resolve, even when facing a certain death successfully win Shiokara over. Thus, Shiokara ended up beating and leaving Suji and swear his allegiance to Yanma. Eventually, Yanma rose through the ranks, and became the president of N'Kosopa, with Shiokara ended as Yanma's regent. Under Yanma rule, N'Kosopa turned from Debris filled Slum to a futuristic and technological city.
For the signing of the Quintet Alliance, Yanma and the other rulers go to Shugodom but Yanma feels uneasy about what they are partaking in. He later refuses the treaty due to his suspicion of Rcules wanting to be the commanding authority and in control of King-Ohger, claiming that Rcules is using the prophecy as an excuse to execute a monopolization of power. He leaves and attempts to awaken God Kuwagata to no avail, only for the Shugod rise due to a man in red. TV STORY-Ep. 1: I am the King
Yanma saved Gira from capture and though they had inital disagreements on the way Yanma runs his country, they came together and beat a Kaijim with King-Ohger. TV STORY-Ep. 2: A King for Whose Sake Shortly they were taken by God Kamakiri to Ishabana where Yanma became infatuated with Hymeno but quickly changed his mind about her. They too worked together to stop a Kaijim from destroying Ishabana. TV STORY-Ep. 3: Devotion to Selfishness
After Gira is captured by Rita, the judge visits Yanma for interrogation. With the president telling them that Gira's ability to transform as well as his control of King-Ohger may in fact make him royalty. With the Bug Naraku army once again invading Gokkan, the now complete Ohsama Sentai fights the new Bug Naraku army. TV STORY-Ep. 5: The King of Winter is Coming After the Shugods are put out of commission, he and Hymeno debate on how to fix them and the Wrath of God but stop to battle Bug Naraku. He later reminds Gira that they're a team and with Hymeno, they form King-Ohger and save Shugodom. TV STORY-Ep. 7: Wrath of God
During the battle of the Husty brothers, Yanma and the other rulers save Gira and keep Gira "dead". TV STORY-Ep. 8: King and Prince in Trial by Combat He is shortly taken down by Dezunaraku in N'Kosopa, the monster threatening to destroy all of Chikyu with his cocoons TV STORY-Ep. 9: Gira on the Run but with a miracle and determination, he and the royals summon Legend King-Ohger, destroying the cocoons and coming together as the Ohsama Sentai. Jeramie makes his debut and while Yanma initially didn't believe Jeramie's story, came to believe it after Jeramie was complete unaffected by the Thundercracker and when the storyteller mentioned Gin, Yanma's mentor. TV STORY-Ep. 12: The Sixth King Yanma is curious about Jeramie and gains his trust, getting ahold of the Venomix. Though, he had forgotten that the artifact was priceless to the storyteller and used as part of a prank for Rcules, resulting in Jeramie rampaging on the King-Ohgers, especially Yanma. TV STORY-Ep. 13: Angry Spider The next day, he helped Hymeno realize the error in her path for revenge by hacking Ishabana's TV system, to telling the kingdom to bring over Jeramie for a reward. TV STORY-Ep. 14: Together with Moffun He later discusses with Jeramie about trusting Rcules with peace negotiations before finding Bug Naraku in N'Kosopa, threatening to come after Jeramie if anything happens to his people. After refusing Rcules once again, more and more Bug Naraku attack N'Kosopa, testing the man's endurance. He eventually is at the mercy of the revived Daigorg's power but refuses to kneel to Rcules. Just seconds before death, he is saved by Gira, who promises to the president that he won't lose this battle. TV STORY-Ep. 17: The King Does Not Flee Later, recovering from his encounter with Daigorg, he and Jeramie play a prank on Rcules by scaring him as revenge for what he's done. He then helps beat the Bug Naraku out of Shugodom but was frustrated knowing that Rcules won't face true justice due to Rita's neutrality. After a failure in beating Daigorg a second time due to hesitation from Gira and the Shugods, Yanma reprimands Gira for treating them like actual beings but after the Shugods are put down once again, Yanma takes a cue from Gira and talks to them like actual people and even calling them his friends, something that the Shugods were happy to hear and motivated them to power up and form King-Ohger. Yanma Gast was imprisoned in Gokkan for the crime of monopolizing the world's electricity. Fighting the Uchu[]
After the Uchu make their attack, Yanma leaves prison and beats Goma out of N'Kosopa. TV STORY-Ep. 27: Arrival of The Uchu King Later, his body is swapped with Rita's and ends up having to take their place as judge, though Rita's numerous arrests and having to constantly free his people tucker him out. TV STORY-Ep. 28: Shuffle Kings! Later, he is violently struck down by a brainwashed Morphonia, causing Chikyu's peace treaties to go out of whack so he along with the other King-Ohgers planned to take blame but Jeramie stepped in, taking the blame all himself. Disgusted by what Hilbil forced Jeramie to sacrifice, he and the other King-Ohgers relentlessly and mercilessly fought Hilbil but she escaped unscathed. TV STORY-Ep. 29: Disqualified as King
Kings and Kyoryus[]
Dagded, furious at being tricked by the King-Ohgers simply sends them to an enslaved Earth, where Yanma and his team meet the 37th Super Sentai, the Kyoryugers (except King, Utsusemimaru and Amy) and a young man from the future called Prince. He quickly realizes that he can't transform but helps make Prince's King Gaburicalibur and beat Debo Senking as well as Kabutoshin Deboth, fighting with Ian Yorkland. TV STORY-Ep. 32: Encounter! Taking Chikyu Back[]
Upon returning to Chikyu, Hilbil ruled over N'Kosopa. Yanma pieces it together that since 90% of N'Kosopa's population wears headphones, a hack through them would be all Leech needed to brainwash the wearers, so the King-Ohgers decide that N'Kosopa's liberation should be prioritized, though they had failed due to Hilbil holding Shiokara's life on the line. TV STORY-Ep. 35: Don't Cry, Slack-Jawed Tanuki Later in Gokkan, Yanma and Shiokara grab the Ultra Computer that got him arrested for a new plan. TV STORY-Ep. 38: Steadfast Idol Debut After Gokkan is liberated, The King-Ohgers try to free N'Kosopa once more. Yanma then reveals that he may have the ability to defeat the Uchu, telling the team that the OhgerCaliburs have a hidden code that could allow them to use the power of the cosmos. Though he was initially defeated by Hilbil, Yanma's plan to unlock the hidden code of the OhgerCaliburs worked, allowing the team to kill Goma and free N'Kosopa. After Rcules' is given a stay at execution, he has Rcules work as a gear sorter. He makes it clear to Rcules that he doesn't forgive him nor Shugodom as a whole for what they did to his country, especially since Rcules almost had Yanma killed by Daigorg two years ago. He studied the King's Proof in the various objects symbolizing the rule of the King-Ohgers and managed to unlock his but due to brainwashing from Hilbil, attacked Shugodom with his power before being brought back to his senses by Gira. He and Gira later destroy Hilbil and after doing so, he talks with Rcules, asking what his rise to becoming the King of Chikyu was like, learning not to be at the top like Rcules was. Yanma then meets with Gira and requests a proposition, wanting the Six Kingdom Alliance to be re-established and signed by the King-Ohgers, partly as a contract to keep one another's powers in check. After a new God's Wrath was started by Glodi, Yanma stayed in N'Kosopa along with his workers to help keep communications up around Chikyu for evacuation. He later helped beat Glodi in King-Ohger with his team. TV STORY-Ep. 47: Silence God After most of the Jesters had been slain, Yanma suggested evolving the Ohsama Gattai King-Ohger one last time by combining the powers of their King's Proofs to match the galactic might of their enemy. However, Dagded arrives and beats the King-Ohgers, deciding to simply clean up Chikyu himself. He had given his King's Proof to Shiokara, in hopes that the people would carry on the fight while he and the other King-Ohgers fought off Dagded long enough for the people to leave Chikyu. During the war for Chikyu, he and workers, alongside Kofuki attempt to find a substitute for Jeramie's eternal life before taking a break alongside the other rulers to get back in the fight. TV STORY-Ep. 49: The Kings Are Here The King-Ohgers rejoin the war and beat Dagded by forming the Ultimate King-Ohger and reluctantly having to sacrifice the Shugods which Gira laments but Yanma reassures him that Kuwagon's soul is literally in him and with the Shugod souls of the ruler's respective Shugods, they can be restored. Donbrothers vs King-Ohger[]
In Nkosopa, Jeramie pays a visit to Yanma and is given a book. Yanma warns Jeramie that the book will send him flying after he has opened it. Jeramie misunderstands the warn as it is so awesome that it will send him flying, but the book is actually a Jack in the Box as it contains a boxing glove spring, and it hits Jeramie's face to send him flying. It makes Yanma to laugh for able to make a prank towards Jeramie and Shinichi comes inside, asking his whereabout and how to get out. But after unable to obtain a way to get out, he takes a seat on Yanma's seat and make his haiku. It gives interest towards Jeramie, and he plays along and impresses Shinichi. As Yanma doesn't like to see how they get along, he put his deadly lying detector helmet on their head, and it gives them a powerful voltage shock for being busted to lie towards each other's praise. While Yanma is laughing, Shinichi and Jeramie put their hands on Yanma to punish him, causing all of them to die from the shock.
The dead Sentai teams of the King-Ohgers and Donbrothers fight in Hakabaka, with Yanma and Jeramie fighting Shinichi but Minoru arrives and attacks them. With one enemy to fight, the King-Ohgers and Donbrothers beat the monster together and all parties are going out of Hakabaka as if they are not even remembering that they are dead. Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger in Space[]
During the tournament, Yanma and Jeramie break into the location where Dorin is being held hostage and successfully rescue her, having learned about her kidnapping from Doggie Kruger. After, Donking refuses to reward Prince and instead summons Machine Beast Bara Breaker to eliminate him, the tournament is raided by Doggie Kruger and the other King-Ohgers and he with his team and alongside Tsurugi Otori and Doggie Kruger, proclaims their commitment to protect the universe. Personality[]
A well-meaning monarch who would rather not get involved in politics, Yanma is a highly intelligent man, having obtained his throne through his computer skills alone. However, these skills have made him highly arrogant albeit he was able to deduce that Rcules Husty was far from the benevolent king that he had painted himself to be at a first glance. As a result of his arrogance, Yanma attempted to hack into God Kuwagata and control King-Ohger himself, only to fail while Gira Husty had succeeded. While generally approachable, Yanma is slightly aggressive in nature due to growing up in the slums. As a result, unless he has someone watching over him, he will often pick a fight with anyone in the area. Yanma also has bad table manners, which were deemed vulgar by Hymeno.
Despite his arrogance, Yanma still holds his responsibility as a king properly. However, instead of protecting the kingdom himself as a king, he makes sure that everyone in the kingdom follows his path as well as being able to support each other. Moreover, he never views his citizens as just mere "lowly beings" or "tools" to be disposed once they had outlived their use. Instead, he views them all as his comrades. Because of his personality along with how well he has established his kingdom, all of his citizens have no quarrel with regards to following his leadership.
In teamwork with the rest of the kings, Yanma always takes the lead because of his vast knowledge and a quick wit to read the situation. He can also be childish and vindictive at times, using pranks as a means of getting back at someone that's wronged him, especially Rcules. He can also offer wisdom when he wants to like when he reminded Gira that he can't do everything by himself, giving Gira advice on leading his kingdom when he was new or showing Hymeno the error of her ways in trying to get revenge for the death of her parents. He's wise enough to to accept advice from others like Rcules as well.

- King's Proof: Sealed within Yanma's earring which bears the crest of Nkosopa, Yanma can control lightning on a worldwide scale and summon lightning storms at will which are capable of shocking the Shugods, forcefully cancelling out the transformations of the other King-Ohgers. He can also channel lightning through God Tombo to either spread it out or enhance its strength while it's combined with King-Ohger.
Abilities[]
- Enhanced Intelligence: Yanma is highly intelligent, as he summarizes the difference of timeflow between Kyoryugers' Earth and Chikyu through space travel with the theory of relativity.
- Hacking Proficiency: Yanma has been shown to be proficient in hacking and managed to win a hacking duel against dozens of his citizens at the same time; his hacking speed is also almost unpredictable and he tolerates it to defeat even those in the highest ranks.
- Expert Programmer: As seen in episode 7, Yanma is revealed to be professional in programming the Shugods' power to their full extent by adding its new codes. He's also responsible in solving the OhgerCalibur hidden command, the Fang of Defiance which ultimately empowered every member of King-Ohger enough to permanently kill one of the Uchu Five Jesters. Upon Rcules telling the members about King Proof, Yanma is quickly able to unlock his own King Proof within two days, once again showing his expertise in the said area.
- Inventor: After learning from Gin how to repair computer from scraps, Yanma is more than capable to create many items that benefits both his people and the King-Ohgers. Some of his inventions are:
- Top Computer (the main laptop rigging Yanma uses, Yanma later personally destroy it to save Shiokara from Hilbil's brainwashing. After Hilbil permanent demise, Yanma is shown to rebuild his Main Laptop).

- Energy Wings: By using the command Ryouga Issen (凌牙一閃 Ryōga Issen, lit. Flashing Fang), Tombo Ohger can summon God Tombo's wings for flight.

- Ohger Finish (オージャフィニッシュ Ōja Finisshu): Tombo Ohger activates the blue switch on the OhgerCalibur three times, charging the sword with energy. The blade generates a tornado, slashing the opponent and lifting them up in the air in a blue cyclone.
- A variant involves blue energy encasing the OhgerCalibur blade in the form of one of God Tombo's wings before delivering a blue energy slash.

- Gira Husty/Kuwagata Ohger: After witnessing Gira Husty succeed in awakening God Kuwagata and control King-Ohger, Yanma forcibly drags him to Nkosopa to figure out how the young outlaw achieved what he could not. Initially looking down on Gira because of how naïve he is, Yanma is able to connect with him through their shared hatred of Rcules. They share the deepest development during Gira's forced hiding, proven when Gira saved him from Daigorg attack.
- Hymeno Ran/Kamakiri Ohger: Initially, Yanma seemed to show interest in Hymeno. After witnessing her selfish behaviour and acts, he's had a disliking to her, often bantering with her like with his teammates. However, in serious situations, the pair tends to work well together.
- Rita Kaniska/Papillon Ohger: Yanma hates Rita's screaming and how far their neutrality tends to go but respects them as a King and works together with them in serious situations though they seemed not to care if the other got injured when they temporarily switched bodies.
- Kaguragi Dybowski/Hachi Ohger: Originally distrusting Kaguragi due to his alliance with Rcules, Yanma figures out Kaguragi's ruse and states that because of Kaguragi's motives, he finds it easier to trust him.
- Jeramie Brasieri/Spider Kumonos: Yanma got to know Jeramie since the latter knew about Gin, Yanma's mentor in the past. Jeramie initially was dismayed over the fact that Yanma used Venomix Shooter - Jeramie's mother's keepsake for a Failed Whoopee Cushion Prank on Rcules. However, after Yanma succeeded in the prank for the second time for his revenge during Daigorg's emergence, Jeramie came to enjoy the prank, exclaiming that his mother will be pleased. The two became close friends since.
- Rcules Husty/Ohkuwagata Ohger: Yanma Gast initially had a great disgust against Rcules, viewing him to be arrogant and selfish. Yanma noticed Rcules' bad traits within years of working on the Shugods for him, and his contempt peaked after Rcules was selfishly taking over the lead to control King Ohger. The last straw for Yanma was when Rcules helped the Bug Naraku revive Daigorg, and would have killed him during a siege in Nkosopa had it not been for the interference of Gira. Even after Rcules showed his true allegiance to Chikyuu, Yanma initially refused to forgive him for his past atrocities, until Yanma himself become drunk in his power (a courtesy of Hilbil's brainwashing). After finally ending Hilbil for good, Yanma begrudgingly respects Rcules for his wisdom.

Design[]
- The face design of Tombo Ohger's helmet is based on the overhead view of a dragonfly, the visor is shaped to represent a dragonfly's wings.
Etymology[]
- Yanma Gast's name comes from a species of dragonfly: his given name is derived the Japanese name for the Anotogaster sieboldii (オニヤンマ Oniyanma), a species of dragonfly that is also known as the golden-ringed dragonfly, though it is unrelated to the actual Golden-ringed dragonfly (Cordulegaster boltonii) found in Europe, the jumbo dragonfly, and the Siebold's dragonfly, while his surname is derived from the species's genus (Anotogaster).[3]
