Yamiororo (ヤミオロロ, Yamiororo 7) is a tree-like Ayakashi that was born in the depths of the Sanzu River.

History

Clinging to the Rokumon Junk and annoying Doukoku Chimatsuri, Yamiororo is send to the mortal realm to do as much damage as his predecessor had done in the past. However the power of the Kajiki Origami neutralizes his poison as he is destroyed by the Kajiki Five Rings Bullet and then destroyed by Kajiki ShinkenOh's Swordfish One Slash Two Halves.

Yokai Origins

According to folklore, kodama (木霊, kodama) are spirits that have been inhabiting trees for thousands of years. Yamiororo's tree-like appearance is thought to be the basis of this legend.

Powers

• Human World Travel: Yamiororo and other residents of Sanzu River can travel themselves into human world via narrow hole gaps.
• Second Life: Yamiororo and most Ayakashi possessed a second life that granted them the chance to live again as a giant upon being defeated by Shinkengers.
• Poison Gas Generation: Yamiororo can release poison gas from his mouth that is able to kill the victim in a few days.
• Mist Generation: Yamiororo can release mist from his mouth to obstruct his opponents' vision.
• Energy Blast: Yamiororo can shoot energy blasts from his eyes.

Behind the Scenes

Portrayal

Yamiororo is voiced by the late Hideyuki Umezu (梅津秀行, Umezu Hideyuki) and this was his final role before his death on May 17, 2024.

Design

• His design is based on the kodama and incorporates elements of a cedar tree with human hands and skulls as foliage.

Etymology

• His name is a combination of yami (病み, yami to fall ill) and oro oro (オロオロ, oro oro in a panic).
