"Wolf! Decalibur Finish! (ウルフ!デカリバーフィニーッシュ! Urufu! Dekaribā Finīsshu!)"
―Finisher announcement[src]

The WolfDecalibur50 (ウルフデカリバー50(ゴー) Urufudekaribāgō) is a sword that serves as the personal weapon of GozyuWolf.[1]

Overview

The WolfDecalibur50 can generate powerful red sparking slashes capable of tearing through the fabric of space and spawn black holes, which can teleport GozyuWolf or an opponent effortlessly.[2] When enlarged, it splits into two to form the left arm and the head armor of TegaSword DekaClaw while a copy can be utilized by Hoeru as a controller to pilot the giant robo.

As the weapon is created from the strong emotion of Hoeru to become No.1, he can summon the weapon directly from his torso armor as Gozyu Wolf in some occation when the TegaSword Red Ring will glow brightly and he can summon the weapon without needing to insert the Ring into the Gold TegaSword.

Appearances: Gozyuger Episode 9-16, 18-19, Ep. 21: Burning Festival Spirit! TegaSword SUMMER!

History

GozyuWolf pulls the WolfDecalibur50 from his torso armor and wields it against the Sentai Reds. The weapon can create black holes with its slashes, allowing GozyuWolf to dive through them and destroy GekiRed, Spade Ace, and DenziRed with the Wolf Decalibur Finish. Facing Ring Hunter Garyudo, GozyuWolf defeats him by delivering another version of the Wolf Decalibur Finish.

When Fire Candle arrives piloting King Candelor, GozyuWolf summons the Giant God TegaSword and combines it with an enlarged WolfDecalibur50 to form TegaSword DekaClaw. In the battle against the Dress Guard, TegaSword DekaClaw outmatches it with swift and ferocious attacks using the Deka Claw. After binding King Candelor with the Wolf Dehood, TegaSword DekaClaw destroys the mecha with the TegaSword: Claw Banisher. TV STORY-Ep. 9: Unbreakable Wolf

TegaSword DekaClaw

TegaSword DekaClaw (テガソードデカクロウ Tegasōdo Dekakurō) is the combination of the TegaSword, the WolfDecalibur50, and the TegaSword Red Sentai Ring.[1] It serves as the second main Giant Robo of GozyuWolf, and contains a slot in the cockpit for a copy of the WolfDecalibur50 to be inserted in and act as a new controller. In this form, TegaSword is skilled in enhanced claw attacks. Mirroring GozyuWolf's fierce fighting style, it can tear into opponents with the DekaClaw (デカクロウ Dekakurō) on the left arm. The robo can also forcefully drag opponents throughout the ground on the battlefield. The Wolf Dehood (ウルフデフード Urufu Defūdo) on its head not only protects the TegaSword Red Sentai Ring, but also reads the surrounding atmosphere and transmits it to the pilot.

The finisher is the TegaSword: Claw Banisher (テガソード・紅狼(クロウ)バニッシャー Tegasōdo: Kurō Banisshā), where TegaSword DekaClaw binds the Dress Guard with the chains extending from its chest and proceeds to execute a dimensional slash with the DekaClaw to propel itself forward at the bounded Dress Guard, piercing it with the DekaClaw and proceeded to withdraw the weapon before the opponent's destruction.

Appearances: Gozyuger Episodes 9-10, 15, 18-19, 21

Behind the Scenes

Design

  • WolfDecalibur50:
    • WolfDecalibur50's design is based on a wolf and a short sword.
  • TegaSword DekaClaw:
    • TegaSword DekaClaw's design incorporates elements of a wolf and a werewolf.

Etymology

  • "Decalibur" is a portmanteau of "Deka", the Greek prefix for the number "ten", evocative of the word "decade", and "Calibur," a common particle for swords in Super Sentai which is derived from "Excalibur", King Arthur's sword.
  • "DekaClaw" is simultaneously a portmanteau of "Deka", the Greek prefix for the number "ten" and the English word "claw" and a pun on phrase "Huge Claw," referencing how the WolfDecalibur50 replaces TegaSword's left arm when forming TegaSword DekaClaw.

Notes

  • Unlike the other TegaSword configurations, Hoeru controls this form of TegaSword using the weapon as a control stick instead of placing a figure of the robo in the cockpit.
