Synopsis[]
Cassie is blackmailed by a teen troublemaker named George into going out with his gentle giant friend named Lenny after George finds Cassie's diary. The date goes awry when one of Astronema's monsters, Elephantitan, tries to knock down the building they are in, which happens to contain Professor Phenomenus' new plutonium fuel that could wipe out Angel Grove.
Andros is given a brief tour of Angel Grove High in one scene.
Plot[]
Cassie is busy working on her diary at the Surf Spot when Adelle stops by to chat with her about when she had a diary herself. She told her about how often she would write in that diary until her brother found out and would torment her for it. Adelle ended her story by saying how she eventually got back at her brother, and promptly left Cassie alone. Cassie looked at the time and packed up quickly.
Meanwhile, Professor Phenomenus is holding a press event to talk about his new more powerful form of plutonium fuel. To demonstrate its capabilities, he uses Bulk and Skull to travel into space to find alien life. When questioned about its substance, Phenomenus confirms that it is able to blow up the entire city of Angel Grove. He reassures the reporter that he will be keeping it safe in his laboratory located at the top of a skyscraper, only to clumsily knock over the canister, to which Bulk was able to catch. While the Professor is asked what he plans to do to protect it from the forces of evil, Astronema is revealed to be hidden within the crowd.
At Angel Grove High, Ashley is walking with Cassie, telling her all about this crazy dream she had, when Cassie chimes in with the best dream she had. It was then, she realized that she may have forgotten her diary back at The Surf Spot. Ashley attempted to reassure her not to panic, but Cassie tells her that she left a picture of herself as the Pink Ranger inside of it. The two went on their way to retrieve it, only to bump into two boys named George and Lenny who are currently in possession of Cassie's diary. But before they give it back, George informs Cassie that she must first go on a date with Lenny. After threatening to read off something from her diary, George set up the date for his friend and Cassie to go on and leaves with the diary.
While Andros is showing off the Megatank to T.J. and Carlos in the Astro Megaship, Cassie is out on her date with Lenny while George is up-selling his friend to her as much as he can. Cassie ends up tricking George into leaving her alone with Lenny and makes him promise to give back her diary once their date is over. The two genuinely have a fun time with one another and end up at the same building where the Professor's Laboratory is located to dine in a restaurant found at the top. Just as Cassie and Lenny take a look out the window, Elephantitan starts ramming into the base of the building, causing the tower to shake and sway. Lenny attempts to take Cassie with him to evacuate, but gets hit with falling debris, knocking him out cold.
The rest of the Rangers are hanging out at The Surf Spot when they get the call from Alpha 6 about the attack. They show up to the scene of the attack, ready to fight Elephantitan, but are blasted away by Astronema before they can stop him. Still trapped in the tower, Cassie contemplates morphin to save Lenny, but he soon comes back to his senses, albeit still dazed from the blow. She helps Lenny back onto his feet and the two make their way out of the building.
Just as the Rangers are about to charge in once more, Ashley stops them, notifying them about Cassie and Lenny still trapped in the tower. The two end up in Phenomenus' lab where they stubble upon the Plutonium, which is said to be overheating.
Andros calls down the Megatank to venture inside and find Cassie and Lenny with Ashley's help, while T.J. and Carlos stay behind to try and hold off Elephantitan. As the container of Plutonium is nearly ready to explode, Cassie almost risks morphing in order to save Lenny. Just before she does, Andros and Ashley show up just in time to save them and are able to disarm the volatile explosive.
Tired of waiting, Astronema fires the Satellasers, and grows Elephantitan to giant size. Andros is able to drive the Megatank out of the building just before it collapses and because the Plutonium was neutralized, there was no cataclysmic eruption. Lenny is left in the Megatank, knocked out, while Cassie regroups with the other Rangers to morph.
They call upon the Astro Megaship, formed the Astro Megazord and defeated Elephantitan with relative ease.
All five Rangers are hanging out at The Surf Spot when Cassie spots Lenny and George approaching her. Lenny makes good on his promise and returns the diary, ensuring her that neither he nor George read anything inside. While Cassie was upset with them for stealing her diary in the first place, Lenny decides to properly ask her out on a second date. To which, Cassie agreed and even includes Ashley to be George's date.

Zords[]
Songs[]
- Go Fly Win (instrumental)
Errors[]
- While Cassie & Lenny were going up the elevator, their Sentai counterparts can briefly be seen.
- Ecliptor was seen in his first, small-shouldered form when appearing to the Rangers.
- The building continues to change in design and height between America and Japan.
Notes[]
- The characters of George and Lenny are likely a reference to the lead characters of the same names in the John Steinbeck Novel Of Mice and Men. In the book, George does most of the talking while Lennie (whose name spelling was altered for the episode's character) is much larger and gentler.
- Final appearance of Angel Grove High School, which had been a staple of Power Rangers since Mighty Morphin's "Teamwork", as the high school element of the series is completely dropped following this episode with the Rangers (sans Andros) later implied to have graduated off-screen.
- The uncredited actor who played George previously appeared in a Turbo D.A.R.E. PSA, where he tried to get a pair of girls at the Juice Bar to drink beer.
- In the credits Professor Phenomenus (Jack Banning) and Bulk (Paul Schrier) both curse after Bulk slips down the step and hurts his behind. Although thankfully they are fully bleeped.
