Western Yokai Franken (西洋妖怪フランケン Seiyō Yōkai Furanken) was the ace and muscle of the Three Great Western Yokai.
History[]
Losing her patience with the Japanese Yokai, which she sees as useless in the face of the Ninningers, Ariake no Kata summons the three Western Yokai from Europe. Disguised in black cloaks, Franken flies to Japan with Western Yokai Dracula and Western Yokai Wolf Man. They arrive shortly after the death of Yokai Yuki-Onna and are met by Ariake no Kata at the Kibaoni Castle. TV STORY-Shinobi 23: It's Summer! Ninja Courage Test
Western Yokai Franken is the first of the Western Yokai sent to attack Tokyo and is given the mission of gathering human fear by causing chaos by messing with machines. He meets up with Kyuemon outside of an amusement park and causes chaos with his energy beams. He then encounters the Ninningers (sans Fuka who is eating sushi with a friend) as they are also at the park and introduces himself. He beats them down quickly before they have to divide thier forces due to Kyuemon summoning a Giant Yokai Gashadokuro with Franken fighting Takaharu and Nagi whilst Yakumo and Kinji fight the Gashadokuro. However, when they form BisonKing Drago, Franken gets angry that they are stealing the attention from him and uses his Stop Light on the mecha only for Shinobimaru to destroy it instead. Displeased, he freezes it so Takaharu activates Chozetsu Mode and beats down Franken but he soon blocks punches and blows back Takaharu with a sustained Stop Light. However, Nazi then uses his Goton Shuriken Water's Reflect Technique to send it back and paralyze Franken with his own signature move. Kasumi destroys the Stop Light with her Karakuri Hengen Bow and they finish Franken off completely with the Transcendent Triple Fury Strikes (a combination of the Violent Slash and the Transcendent Shuriken Strike but performed sideways). With Franken's defeat, all of the affected machines resume movement.
Western Yokai Franken is then enlarged by Kyuemon so they summon Shurikenjin (Drago leaving BisonKing to form it) and Lion Ha-Oh They beat him down with the Giant Shurikens, energy slash him with the Drago-Sword and blast him with Busong Riffle but little damage is done so they form Ha-Oh Shurikenjin which blasts him back so he demands to know who they are. Takaharu answers shortly before they obliterate Western Yokai Franken with the Ha-Oh Splendid Buster, having only the chance to complain about not getting the spotlight before being obliterated. Western Youkai Franken's likeness appears among a set of Yokai karuta cards assembled by Shurikenger for the Ninningers to analyze the Yokai they have defeated so far. Due to Yokai Fudagaeshi's dark art Karuta Dance, Franken is one of six illusionary Yokai which manifest from their respective karuta cards in the Igasaki Ninjutsu Dojo. The illusionary Franken is subsequently destroyed by Kasumi's Karakuri Hengen Sword. TV STORY-Shinobi 43: The Legendary Ninja! Yokai Karuta Tactics
Personality[]
Western Yokai Franken was a very violent and angry Yokai who wanted to be the constant center of attention.
Powers and Abilities[]
Powers[]
- Strength: Franken was shown to be very powerful, able to overpower the Ninningers easily and could take down Nagi and Kasumi with a single punch each which sent them flying.
- Durability: Franken had incredibly thick skin that easily withstood strikes from Lion Ha-Oh, an energized slash from Shurikenjin and shots from BisonKing with little reaction. Even Ha-Oh Shurikenjin's cannon blasts had absolutely no effect on him except for making him stumble back.
- Stop Light: Franken could fire a beam from the light bulb on his abdomen to stop the movement of a machine by stripping it of all power.
- Sustained Stop Light: Franken could make the Stop Light larger, increasing its strength and size and making it even powerful enough to hold back Chozetsu Mode Takaharu.
Abilities[]
- Hand-to-Hand Combat: Franken was able to fight both Nagi and Takaharu off at once.
Weaknesses[]
- Reflected Stop Light: Franken was very vulnerable to his own Stop Light since, when it was reflected back at him, it paralyzed him and rendered him helpless.
Arsenal[]
- Fists: Franken lacked weapons but his immense strength made his hands very dangerous.
