- "You see... I remember quite clearly. You, yourself... Told me that you had executed Bundorio, did you not? I remember that, clear as day. And it turns out that my dear Boon is alive. Funny thing, that. So strange! (...) I'm starting to get chills... My dear Boon... Your Ghassolin... I want it so bad, I'm going nuts!"
- ―Waruido Spindo's first words after confronting Chasing Captain about Bundorio.[src]
- "Why didn't you finish me off? (...) Well, if you're looking to humiliate me, that'd be perfect. (...) My wheel is mine alone to steer. You folks may be Bakuage now… But once I'm gone, this planet goes right back to how it was. The same world full of fighting and screams. Be seeing you, my dear Boon."
- ―Waruido Spindo's final words before choosing self suicide upon given a chance by Taiya and Bundorio Bunderas to spare his life.[src]
Waruido Spindo (ワルイド・スピンドー Waruido Supindō) was the leader of the Great Space Invasion Running Team Hashiriyan and one of the main antagonists of Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger alongside Eiichiro Tokoyari and Raita Naito. Waruido was once an old friend of Bundorio Bunderas and also had a pet monkey named Shaishai Sarucar (シャイシャイ・サルカー Shaishai Sarukā). After killing Bundorio and absorbing his Ghassolin, Spindo upgraded from his Thrill Style (スリルスタイル Suriru Sutairu) form into his Captain Style (キャプテンスタイル Kyaputen Sutairu).
History
Past
Shortly after founding Hashiriyan, Waruido Spindo took notice of Bundorio Bunderas' engineering skills, sent him an illegal upgrade part under the guise of a fan, which resulted in Bundorio's accident, causing his BBG license to be revoked.

Bundorio Meeting Waruido for the first time.
Seeing Bundorio wandering around aimlessly, Waruido Spindo meets Bundorio and tells him that he defeated the person who sent him the illegal parts and invites him for a drink at a nearby bar. While drinking, Waruido introduces himself to him as a man of the future and offers Bundorio a position with the Hashiriyan.
While Bundorio was working for Spindo, he used his skills to create the system used to create the Kurumaju, but after finding out that Waruido was the one who caused his accident and was manipulating him, Bundorio decides to quit Hashiriyan and outs Spindo to the Galactic Police. Waruido Spindo is arrested on a prison planet, but as he has connections with the Galactic Police, he was allowed to continue commanding the Hashiriyans from a luxurious prison cell.
Boonboom Revelation
Within his prison cell, Waruido Spindo is seen with a selection of exotic foods in front of him, which he feeds his monkey while the Chasing Captain is on standby. Waruido told the Captain how he vividly recalls him reporting back saying that he executed Bundorio Bunderas. Due to the revelation that his "dear" Bundorio is alive, he now finds it amusing and strange. Chasing Captain tries to explain himself before Waruido dismantles him immediately using his scepter. Laughing maniacally, he gets goosebumps to find out Bundorio is alive, proclaiming his crazed urge for Boonboom's Ghassolin. TV STORY-Bakuage 34: Cars That Carry Dreams
Waruido watches as Bundorio reveals his backstory to the Boonboomgers on Earth and compliments him for tricking him. He then calls Grantu Risk and tells him that he's saddened by Bundorio's betrayal, ordering him to send the data on Earth collected by Madrex, Cannonborg and Disrace before deciding to come there himself. Arriving on Earth
Upon his arrival on Earth, he was greeted by Grantu Risk, several Nejiretta who were dressed formally, and Eiichiro Tokoyari and Maimi Baisu from the ISA, who blacked out all information pertaining to his arrival, A car was arranged for him by Grantu to take him to Taiya Hando, who was overwhelmed by the Sponge Grumer. He personally thanked Taiya for looking after Bundorio and remarked the earth produces excellent Ghassolin. He reveals to him that he has since bought the Big Bang Grand Prix, with all the race outcomes being determined by the Hashiriyan. He then told Taiya to deliver a message to Bundorio, saying he will take everything he cares about and then his Ghassolin. Upon returning to the ISA, Tokoyari introduced him to Raita Naito. Personality
A man of unparalleled ambition and boundless charisma, Waruido Spindo has the complete loyalty of the entirety of Hashiryan, who all serve and revere him. Mad Rex claimed he was "too big for the universe", while Cannonborg declared that all his inventions were for his cause. Conversely, Waruido is just as equally feared by his men and he has shown to have little tolerance for deception, as he instantly dismantled one of his generals for lying about executing Bundorio without so much as hearing any explanation amidst despaired pleas.
Spindo is shown to be a fairly scheming planner, and a smooth-talking manipulator. Having heard of Bundorio's engineering skills, he sought him in order to propel the growth of Hashiryan. He did so by setting an elaborate trap to get Bundorio removed from the BBG by sending him an illegal equipment part, which costed him his license. He then approached the disgraced mechanic, taking advantage of Bundorio's turmoil and weakness after having his life ruined, and offered him a hand in Hashiryan through honey-laced lies, deceitful fan support and motivational speeches, knowing how to tell Bundorio exactly the words he wanted to hear. When recruiting his eventual right-hand man, Grantu Risk, Spindo convinced him that he was valuable, when Grantu believed himself to be scrap, thereby rendering him completely loyal to his will.
Spindo seems to be prone to mood swings. Although he's generally eloquent and refined on his speech and mannerisms, he has also shown to act more crazed regarding matters of his interest such as Bundorio himself. Upon learning that he was alive, Spindo was particularly euphoric on the idea of collecting his Ghassolin.
An unrepentant sadist, Spindo gets ecstatic at the pain and suffering of others. When arriving at Earth, he determined that it was a great planet because it was full of war and poverty, which he believed, created Ghassolin of high quality. Spindo is also a nihilist who scoffs at ideas like dreams, as when Taiya confronted him about his delight at misery, Spindo merely retorted that he didn't know how society worked like, and further rubbed on Taiya's face that he had taken control of the BBG where the outcomes were fixated, in an attempt to invalidate both his, and especially Bundorio's dream, making it clear he wanted to destroy everything Bundorio treasured.
When meeting with others, Spindo engages in exaggerated and eccentric mannerisms, like spinning or extending his arms. During his arrival on Earth, he cut Grantu Risk's speech midway to embrace him and thank him for managing Hashiryan so well for so long; and when Eiichiro attempted to handshake him, Spindo slapped his hand (like a high five), which left the former flabbergasted and out of pace, and soon after engaged in familiar shoulder patting. When reviving Disrace, he repeated the former's greeting along hand gestures.
Despite his somewhat erratic behavior, Spindo is completely merciless and it is clear he cares for no one, except himself. Even though he arguably recruited all of his henchmen with a mix of flair, charisma, motivation and ambition, while also acting familiar with them, Spindo ultimately sees them as expendable for his goals. He revived Disrace and played along with his acts, but had him rigged with a bomb and nonchalantly told him to take the Boonboomgers down with himself. Spindo had also rigged the Yarucars to become frenetic upon finding sources of Ghassolin and did not care about endangering the entire race for his plans on Earth. Although he seemed to show more kinship towards Grantu Risk, Spindo was not seen to be upset at his loss and instead thanked him as his death attracted an enormous amount of Ghassolin with which he restored his own power.
One prominent aspect of his personality is his strong desire for control over the freedom of others, from his leadership of Hashiriyan, to his plans regarding his enemies. It was revealed upon his defeat that when everything he wanted to happen was annulled through the defeats of his subordinates, and the victories for the BoonBoomgers, this desire resulted in preferring death when faced with actual imprisonment, committing suicide rather than accept consequences. Spindo's warped view of life came largely as a result of his past, claiming he came from a harsh planet where screams and suffering were common, which sparked his malignant epiphany to control everything and keep his "hand on the handle".
When speaking, Waruido tends to use the feminine atashii suffix.
