Vypeera was a Gorgon-based Sporix Beast and the third Sporix Beast from the Sporix Army to awaken. She worked under Mucus and served as the main antagonist of the Season 1 episode of Power Rangers Dino Fury "Lost Signal".
History[]
Past[]
Over 65 million years ago, Vypeera and the other Sporix Beasts invaded Rafkon, the home planet of Zayto. Though he and his fellow Knights of Rafkon fought hard, the Sporix ravaged Rafkon and removed all traces of life from the planet. The Sporix then turned their attention to Earth but Zayto and the remaining Knights had managed to escape Rafkon and tracked the Sporix Beasts to Earth where they engaged them in battle with the help of the dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures. Despite the Knights initially having the upper-hand against the Sporix, most of them grew enough in power over time to grow giant and force the Knights of Rafkon and their dinosaur allies to retreat. When all seemed lost however, the Morphin Masters arrived and bestowed the Morphin Grid's powers to Zayto and his followers, as the first Ancient Dino Fury Rangers which gave them the advantage they need to defeat the Sporix Beasts and seal them inside of their eggs.

When the other Sporix are accidentally released in the modern day during Void Knight's attack on Dinohenge, Vypeera's egg is amongst the Sporix that escape.

Birth of Vypeera.
Vypeera's Sporix Cell is discovered by J-Borg near a paving site only to hatch into her Sporix Beast form and start attacking nearby civilians. J-Borg uses the Ranger Hotline to call the Dino Fury Rangers who teleport into the area to confront her. However, Vypeera uses the eyes on her chest to immobilize Zayto and attacks the frozen Ranger on the spot. Ollie and Amelia try to fight her but, due to her powers, they struggle to fight her without looking at her. Even though she is winning against the two, Vypeera retreats with Mucus after the latter finds a discarded camcorder and wants to use it for a greater plan.
Vypeera and Mucus set up a recording station on the roof of BuzzBlast where they hijack the website by sending out her own video. Anyone who looks at the video immediately freezes in place but Zayto, having been freed thanks to Solon, teleports in blindfolded. Using the Sonic Dino Key, Zayto enhances his hearing and attacks Vypeera, managing to hold his own before destroying her laptop and ending the broadcast. Angry that her plan is ruined, Vypeera sets her sights on destroying Zayto only for a morphed Ollie and Amelia to teleport in and defend their friend. Jumping off the rooftop, she grows into a giant so Zayto fights her in the T-Rex Champion Zord Battle Mode but struggles to hit her since he had to fight whilst covering his eyes. Thankfully, Solon deploys the Tricera Blade and Ankylo Hammer Zords and Ollie and Amelia hatch a plan to blind her chest-mounted eyes. Using their Zords, they create rubble from the street and then with a combination of the Hover and Fix-It Dino Keys, succeed in covering Vypeera's chest eyes. They then form the new Dino Fury Megazord which Vypeera finds herself at the mercy of and is swiftly defeated by the Mega Slash, reverting back to her Sporix Cell form. The Rangers grab it before Void Knight could and place her back into the chest. TV STORY-Lost Signal
Later on, Vypeera's Sporix alongside Draknarok, Smashstone, the one Boomtower took, and Roostafa are seen in the containment unit when a disguised Slyther tries stealing them. He ultimately fails and her Sporix Egg remains in Dinohenge. TV STORY-Phoning Home
Even though she is not seen again, Vypeera participates at the invasion of the Sporix during the final battle against the Rangers and the Rafkonians. She is defeated off-screen by the Rafkonians, her Sporix Egg was used by Void Queen to create the Chimera-theme Sporix Beast, Nemesis Beast and after the Rangers' victory, she is imprisoned forever by Master Red, Blue and Green in a crystal.
Personality[]
Vypeera was very cunning and took her job seriously, but had the patience of a saint when it came to working with Mucus who was extremely childish and annoying around her.

- Body Immobilization: From the eyes on her chest, Vypeera could fire orange-yellow eye-shaped energy rings that could freeze anyone if they look at her chest eyes.
- Teleportation: Vypeera could teleport herself to any location at will in a massive purple energy streak.
- Kris Summoning: Vypeera could freely summon her snake-like kris at will.
- Enlarging: Like all Sporix Beasts, Vypeera could enlarge herself by using the energy she gained in battle.

- Sight: Other than the eyes on her chest, Vypeera could see although the area where her eyes would be is covered.
Weakness[]
- Robotic Eyes: Vypeera's powers have no effect on Solon and J-Borg since one has cyborg eyes and the other is an android.
- Covered Chest Eyes: If the eyes on Vypeera's chest were covered by a large object, she would be unable to freeze her victims.
Arsenal[]
- Snake Kris: Vypeera wielded a snake-like kris-style blade for combat.
- Energy Empowerment: Vypeera could charge up her blade with indigo, purple, or light green energy to slash at full force. One hit was powerful enough to badly injure Zayto.
- Energy Wave: Vypeera could also fire orange colored energy waves from her kris, though it was only used once when she was giant. It is possibly her strongest attack as it was powerful enough to slash a building in one hit.
- Laptop Video: Vypeera used a pink laptop which she connected to a satellite to play a video of her broadcasting her body immobilization ability through it to freeze everyone in Pine Ridge.

Portrayal[]
- Vypeera was voiced by Rachelle Duncan who previously voiced Tiaratron in the preceding season.
- She was portrayed by suit actor Yūichi Hachisuka (蜂須賀 祐一 Hachisuka Yūichi) in Super Sentai footage from Ryusoulger.
Design[]
- Vypeera was based on Medusa, a Gorgon from Greek mythology that can turn anyone to stone through her eyes.
- In terms of her design (i.e.: her face not showing any eyes), Vypeera’s appearance drew some similarities to Dayu from the Power Rangers Samurai series (also portrayed by her suit actor Yuichi Hachisuka).
Etymology[]
- Although it was not absolutely confirmed, Vypeera may have been named after a viper snake.
- Her name was originally going to be Medusa, but was later changed to Vypeera for unknown reasons.
Notes[]
- Vypeera was the first Sporix Beast in the Power Rangers Dino Fury series to fight the Dino Fury Megazord and be caught by the Rangers.
- She was also the first Sporix Beast not to summon Hengemen to help her and the only one in the first season to serve under Mucus.
- With her debut in episode 3 of the first season of Power Rangers Dino Fury, Vypeera was the earliest appearing female Monster-Of-The-Week in the Power Rangers series.
