- "Well well well. What do we have here?"
- ―Psycho Red's first words.[src]
Psycho Red, who would come to be known as Virgil, was the leader of the Psycho Rangers, making him the most powerful, the most evil, and the most violent of the team.
He is also referred to as Red Psycho Ranger - a variation on his in-show label.

History
This article contains content in reference to the main TV series, as well as supplemental material, such as the comics. A sliding/floating timeline applies. Story instances for TV and other media will be clearly marked. |
Astronema created the Psycho Rangers, including Red, from individuals she destroyed and used as raw materials. Dark Specter gave her the ability to do so. After "making" them. They became staunchly loyal to their "mother". TV STORY-Power Rangers: The Psycho Path
As a Psycho Ranger his brain wave patterns were modeled after Andros and as a result, he was programmed with the strategies of the Red Space Ranger and the specs of Andros' weapons. Psycho Red used the Psycho Sword and had a fire monster form.
After his supposed destruction, his ghost joined the other Psycho Rangers into attacking the Space Rangers at Secret City. He was digitized onto a data card and sent to an unknown planet along with the other Psycho Rangers.
Lost Galaxy
A year later, Deviot found the cards and resurrected the Psycho Rangers to deal with the Lost Galaxy Rangers. The Space Rangers and Lost Galaxy Rangers fought the Psycho Rangers and destroyed them for good (except Pink who survived) this time. TV STORY-To The Tenth Power
The Psycho Path
Much like the other Psycho Rangers, Red was originally not much more than a crazed and unstable mass murdering psychopath who lived only for conquest. However, under Karone's influence following his reprogramming by Psycho Green, Red became calmer, more disciplined as he faced up to his newly emerging ability to feel empathy. Upon being faced by an argument by Karone, he displayed a loyalty to his team, desiring to kill Power Rangers because of how they'd killed his team twice. His third life and newly programmed familial loyalty set him down the path to become a calm and caring leader. He grew to have a love for movies, as he took his name, Virgil, from a character from a western that he watched with his team. He also struggled to adapt a non-lethal style of combat, but in doing so showed an adaptive mind and a courage to change when shown proof of his own flaws and faults. COMIC STORY- Power Rangers: The Psycho Path
Beast Morphers

Many years later after the discovery that the multiverse exists (such as RPM and Dino Charge/Supercharge dimensions), Psycho Red's now empty Data Card is amongst the villains’ relics collected by Ryjack, until Evox and his minion retrieve it and Ryjack’s reanimizer to revive the most notorious villains in the universe, starting with Sledge’s crew and Snide. Prior to deciding to revive Goldar, Psycho Red was one of the three debunked candidate villains who were originally meant to be revived aside Koragg, The Knight Wolf, Astronema and Lord Zedd, but was debunked due to backfire reasons on them. Psycho Red was Robo-Blaze’s choice, but Robo-Roxy remind him that Psycho Red was obsessed with destroying a Red Ranger, which lead him to his destruction with the other Psycho Rangers by the Space and Lost Galaxy Rangers. She adds that Psycho Red would rebel against his own allies if they ever interfere his hunt on any Red Rangers. Robo-Blaze retorts that they must resurrect all 5 Psycho Rangers but Snide reminds him that they could only reanimate one. TV STORY-Making Bad
