Tsutomu Kameda (亀田 勉 Kameda Tsutomu) is a scam artist who turns into a darkness/rainbow-themed Hitotsuki called Himitsuki (秘密鬼 lit. Secret Demon), possessing a Gorenger Avataro Gear, out of his desire for someone to help him escape from a dangerous family (the Donbrothers). He later evolves into Himitsuking (秘密鬼ング Himitsukingu).
History
Tsutomu is a con man who has ripped off several people by infiltrating the homes of hapless victims and taking advantage of them. His thefts are so severe that they wipe out all of their money and even destroys the happiness and stability of families. He first encountered Shinichi in by claiming to be trying to exorcise his home of evil spiritual energy. Tsutomu gave Shinichi his business card and after recognizing the name, Shinichi remembers a client who asked for help about her encounter with the con man and then afterward asked Haruka and Tsuyoshi to aid him in exposing the criminal in an undercover operation. The plan is to bait Tsutomu with an innocent looking family and then slowly learn how he operates up close to catch him in the act and then turn him over to the police.
Later on, Tsutomu enter the cafe and they all quickly make up an excuse to why they left the house, to go shopping. Tsubasa walks in and almost blows their cover by questioning why Tsuyoshi is wearing women’s clothing, but the group improvises as Haruka says that Tsubasa is her boyfriend. Shinichi drags him outside and explains the situation, with Tsubasa eager to help them take down Tsutomu by using his skills as a stage actor to play the boyfriend role.
Outside Shinichi’s house, Tsutomu is doing another fake purification ritual and says he needs more time to finish purging the evil spirits from the house when asked if he was finished by Shinichi. Jiro arrives with a box of Rumi’s homegrown vegetables and nearly blows their cover, with Haruka fumbling that Jiro is her other boyfriend. Shinichi drags him away and explains the situation with Jiro, asking for his help.
Inside the house, they explain to Tsutomu that Haruka is popular with the boys and has two boyfriends competing in a friendly rivalry for her affection. Tsubasa plays along, but oddly feels hurt that he is being two-timed by Jiro of all people.
Tsutomu then does fake psychic readings of each of them; guessing that Haruka has an evil animal spirit haunting her and she owned a cat. Haruka confesses she did have a cat named Stroganoff and she put socks on his head as a child, begging the spirit of her kitty for forgiveness.
Tsuyoshi has a dark and foreboding aura, which offends “Mom” and he breaks character by speaking incorrect gender pronouns and mentions Miho. Shinichi tries to keep the situation under control by saying Miho was his late older sister and “Mom” thinks of her regularly. Tsuyoshi gets angry and yells at Shinichi for “killing off” Miho, which frustrates Shinichi because of how Tsuyoshi gets triggered by the very mention of his wife.
Tsutomu reads Tsubasa next, sensing a spirit of a dog, with Tsubasa faking a story saying he had a dog named Shuriken and “buys into” the reading. Jiro doesn’t get a reading as Tsutomu finds him annoying and tries to ignore him. Shinichi is haunted by a scarecrow, with everyone else commenting that Shinichi does kind of look like one. Shinichi gets offended by this, but Taro shows up offering a box of meat that his boss gave him to share with his companions.
The group frantically try to keep their ruse going despite his presence by lying to him and asking Taro to leave but he refuses as he wants some meat. He is still struggling to process what is going on and that struggle causes Taro to yet again get hiccups, with Tsutomu suggesting the holding of one’s breath and drinking water remedy to stop the hiccups. It doesn’t work and Haruka understands what Taro is thinking and feels guilty about lying to him.
The meat is cooked in a hotpot and Tsutomu offers to exorcise their personal evil spirits by letting go of their most prized possessions in exchange. He soon learns that the family has sentimental memories as treasures and nothing that he can steal and resell for cash. Jiro and Tsubasa fight over who gets the last piece of meat and Taro goes into the kitchen to get more to stop their squabbling. Haruka decides to tell Taro the truth in the kitchen and he takes it well, even offering to help and stating he has grown so they don’t have to worry about him. Haruka says that he can be the eldest brother of the siblings and he agrees. Shinichi frets when Taro is let into the plan while Tsutomu fake reads Taro, saying that he is haunted by a monster or a yokai. Taro just accepts that as a part of who he is, which Tsutomu is taking aback by as if he was talking to a wall. The con man thinks that stealing from this family might be a bust and excuses himself to leave.
Later that night, Tsutomu is in his burglar outfit and slips into Shinichi’s home through the unlatched window. He rummages through the house for valuables, but finds nothing.
He then goes towards “Mom’s” room, only to hear Tsuyoshi on the phone with Miho explaining that he is going to be late coming home. Tsutomu thinks that “Mom” is crazy and talking to her dead daughter on the phone. He then sneaks into Tsubasa’s room, only to recognize him from the wanted posters of his Juto duplicate as a dangerous criminal and quickly leaves the room. Tsutomu then enters Haruka’s room, who is dreaming about fighting Hitotsuki and sleep morphs into Oni Sister.
This freaks out Tsutomu who thinks she is an actual demon or monster, which wakes Jiro, who is in his Dangerous persona and he threatens to beat the robber up. Tsutomu thinks Jiro is some kind of criminal delinquent and screams in fear, running into Taro. Tsutomu asks him what is wrong with his family and when Taro tries to tell a lie, he falls over dead which freaks him out even more. Shinichi appears and says that the thief’s plans have been fully exposed and he will face justice. Tsutomu sees Taro rise from the dead and runs out of the house screaming, he swears off robbing Shinichi’s house and desires someone to help him get away from the creepy family he just witnessed. This desire turns Tsutomu into the Goranger Hitotsuki, Himitsuki.
Still fleeing in terror, Himitsuki goes into a parking garage and the Donbrothers teleport to his location, though some of them need to be stirred awake to fight. Himitsuki uses jumbo sized versions of Momorenger’s Heart Earring Bombs and Midorenger’s Midomerang to fight the Donbrothers and hits them with Aorenger’s Blue Cherry and Blue Arrows. Taro manages to sneak up behind Himitsuki by equipping his GolDon armor offscreen and becoming GolDon AkaNinger to use camouflage. Himitsuki uses Akarenger’s Red Bute to land several hits on Taro, but it turned out to be a shadow clone as the real Taro dives down from the ceiling and lands a powerful flurry of sword strikes with the Ninja Ichibantou to weaken the Hitotsuki. Don Torabolt won’t let Taro have all the glory and both execute a Festival End/Thunder God Prowling White Tiger combination attack to defeat Himitsuki.
Himitsuki evolves into Himitsuking and the five Rangers become Don Onitaijin, with Himitsuking splitting into five and doing his own version of the Gorenger Hurricane, which confuses the team and the ball turns into a giant broom and dustpan which hits them. The Himitsuking team attempts another Hurricane while Shinichi and Tsuyoshi figure out how it works and Jiro as Toradoragonjin knocks the ball away. Taro decides that they should try the technique and both robos do their own Donbrothers version of the Gorenger Hurricane, which turns the ball into an exploding vacuum cleaner. This weakens Himitsuking and his duplicates disappear, Taro then calls the Omikoshi Phoenix and they become Toradora Onitaijin Kiwami to purify Himitsuking with the DonBros Fantasia Supreme.
Eventually, Tsutomu was arrested offscreen for good. TV STORY-Don 42: Off-putting Family
