This article is about a/an Ranger in the Power Rangers comic sub-franchise by Boom! Studios. |
Trini Kwan is second-in-command of the Coinless, a resistance group. She was originally the Yellow Ranger of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and followed her counterpart's original timeline, until the Green Ranger's full defection to the side of evil.
Now Trini has become the Sabertooth Sentry, she is one of the generals of the reformed New Power Coalition, under Kimberly's leadership.
She was later recruited by Lord Drakkon and became the Yellow Drakkon Ranger, the Yellow Ranger of the Drakkon Rangers.
History[]
Rise of Drakkon[]
Trini Kwan was chosen by Zordon to be the Yellow Ranger. She fought with the Power Rangers against Rita Repulsa and her monsters.
As Trini continued to fight among the Rangers, they came under attack by Rita's new Green Ranger. They were able to break the spell that held him under Rita's sway by destroying the Sword of Darkness. However, Tommy still chose to align with Rita and they began to conquer the Earth. Together with allies new and old, Trini fought to keep their forces back. Zordon creates the Griffin Thunderzord for her. In the battle, Billy Cranston dies but not before giving her his Power Coin.
Eventually Drakkon won and took the Power Coins of those who lived, with Trini's coin used to create Sabertooth Sentries. COMIC STORY- Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (Boom! Studios) Issue 13
Years pass in the battle against Tommy, who is now Lord Drakkon. Eventually she comes upon younger versions of Billy Cranston and Tommy Oliver, alongside her old ally Saba and is greatly skeptical of them. COMIC STORY- Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (Boom! Studios) Issue 12 She takes them to Zack Taylor, the group's leader. While he is pleased by their arrival, she remains unconvinced. COMIC STORY- Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (Boom! Studios) Issue 13
The Coinless come under attack. On Zack's orders, Trini and the younger, alternate Billy try and repair a damaged morph shield generator to protect them. However, with not enough time, Trini enlists Billy's help in using the Triceratops coin this world's Billy left her to tap into the Morphin Grid. This incapacitates Drakkon and his sentries. Drakkon is defeated and disappears down a cliff.

Drakkon New Dawn[]
It would later be revealed that Trini Kwan would resurrect the spirit of Rita Repulsa to block the Coinless’ location from Lord Drakkon’s Army, which she would later regret after Rita Repulsa gains enough energy to revive herself and creates a zombie army. Trini would first be hesitant in trusting Ranger Slayer but would agree to trust her and dons Sabertooth Sentry Armor after forming an alliance with Scorpina to defeat Rita Repulsa’s Zombie Army. Trini is among the small army to accompany Ranger Slayer to Deadlock and to fight Eclipta. Trini would reobtain her Power Coin temporarily after Jason steals them but would give it up to power up a device that would give the entire populace Morphin’ Grid energy to fight Eclipta.

Personality[]
Unlike her prime universe comic counterpart, this Trini has seen the horrors of war and is willing to make compromises that her other self would not, including making uneasy alliances with Drakkon out of necessity just to survive the onslaught of Dark Specter. This resulted in Trini abandoning the simpler perception of good and evil. Trini’s judgement in this mindset is not without flaws, as people can take advantage of her, such as the ghost of Rita Repulsa.
Forms[]
This was Trini's default Ranger form as given to her by Zordon through the Power Coin.

- Unnamed Gun weapons: The Sabertooth Sentries are armed with twin handguns that have bayonet-like dagger blades attached to the bottom of the nozzles and a yellow and black handle connected to the guns. This gives the weapons versatile use in ranged and close quarter combat. The color and blades of the weapon make it a twisted militaristic version of the Yellow Ranger's Power Daggers.
