Trawler was a ghost ship-themed Sporix Beast and the thirteenth Sporix Beast to awaken in the Power Rangers Dino Fury series. He served under Slyther's command and is the main antagonist in the Season 1 episode of Dino Fury "Our Hero".
History[]
Over 65 million years ago, Trawler and the rest of the Sporix Beasts invaded Rafkon, the home planet of Zayto. Though he and his fellow Knights of Rafkon fought hard, the Sporix ravaged Rafkon and removed all traces of life from the planet. The Sporix then turned their attention to Earth but Zayto and the remaining Knights had managed to escape Rafkon, tracked the Sporix Beasts to Earth, and engaged them in battle with the help of dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures. After the Rangers' fight against the Void Knight, he was one of the many Sporix Beasts that escaped. TV STORY-Destination Dinohenge
Trawler's Sporix Cell washed ashore on the beach where it immediately hatched. He proceed to capture several beachgoers using his net. Seeing this, the Rangers took on Trawler. The captured beachgoers asked the Rangers for help, which has Aiyon freeing them from the net. This caused the rescued beachgoers to ask Aiyon for a selfie. Jane, who was recording the fight for Buzzblast, moves closer to interview Aiyon, which distracted him from the fight as the other Rangers are immediately trapped in Trawler's net. J-Borg then points out the other five's predicament, which Aiyon notices. He goes to help them using the Blazing Dino Key to summon the Blazing Battle Armor, taking on Trawler while freeing his friends. Mucus immediately teleports down and recruits Trawler before leaving the scene.
In Area 62, Void Knight, Slyther, and Mucus discuss Trawler's ability to spawn nets. Slyther finds it ridiculous, but Void Knight said that the Sporix Beast's ability could be useful. Mucus then shows them the breaking news from BuzzBlast about the Gold Ranger's heroic acts. This gives Void Knight an idea, where he and Slyther set up a party to lure the Rangers so Trawler could capture them. Aiyon, who was on a high thanks to the media attention, appeared morphed and summoned the Mosa Razor Zord when prompted by a disguised Slyther. At the last moment, Trawler captures the Zord and sends it to the local park where Slyther tried to hypnotize it into doing Void Knight's bidding.
While Aiyon and Javi went to rescue the Mosa Razor Zord, the other Rangers confronted Trawler at the beach. Trawler handled himself against the Rangers, even using a dig attack to confuse them before growing into a giant. The Rangers formed the Dino Fury Megazord Claw Formation, but soon face a problem when the Sporix Beast casts a net on the Megazord. Fortunately, Aiyon and Javi appear to help them with the new Electro Zord, using its electricity to zap the net holding the Megazord captive. While it accidentally made it overheat, Javi used the Mist Dino Key to put out the fire. Trawler then goes underground to confuse the Megazord, but the Electro Zord zapped the ground around it, causing the Sporix Beast to come out and catch on fire. Javi and Aiyon then joined the others inside the Megazord, finishing Trawler off with the Tiger Mega Slash. Right after, Aiyon teleported out from the Megazord to capture Trawler's Sporix. Trawler participates at the invasion of the Sporix during the final battle against the Rangers and the Rafkonians. He along with the Fly Sporix Beast are one of the two last Sporix active. They are defeated by Orria and the Rafkonians, their Sporix Eggs were used by Void Queen to create Nemesis and after the Rangers' victory, they are imprisoned forever by Master Red, Blue and Green in a crystal. Personality[]
Trawler is prideful about his nets and does not like it whenever his nets do get ruined, such as when Aiyon freed his fellow rangers. He also doesn't seem to mind having to join another organization since he is a "ship that needs a crew". He also appeared to have the want to be the center of attention as shown when he felt down about being left out of a Buzzblast news feed about the Gold Ranger. He was shown to be sadistic with how he takes pleasure in chasing down those who were unfortunate to be caught in his nets and often makes ship references.
