Trapsaw was a weasel/chainsaw-themed monster who was Ripperat's twin brother and the main antagonist of the episode "The Ranger Ribbon."

Trapsaw is the twin brother of Ripperrat who is introduced by Cosmo Royale on stage for which he attempts to prank him in a trap, only for an anvil to fall on him. He encounters Brody in the city and lays a trap on him but the Red Ranger walks through it and gets Trapsaw hit by a giant wrecking ball. After introducing himself to Brody, Ripcon comes in and scolds him for making him look like an idiot. He then tells the monster to go after the other Ninja Steel Rangers which he does. He has an army of Kudabots attack the Rangers in front of the Ribbon Tree where Preston's father is and annoyed that most people cannot fall victim to the traps he has made because of the tree, he prepares to cut it down. However, Preston's father blocks his path so the monster attempts to slash him but is kicked by Preston.

Trapsaw attempted to flee, but gets "cornered" by the Rangers for he has an army of Kudabots to aid him in battle. The Rangers morph and fight the monster and his Kudabots. Trapsaw does battle with Preston and Levi Weston|Levi]] and gets beaten down by the Rangers. He has the Kudabots help him, but both he and the Kudabots are all obliterated Ninja Battle Morpher Hyper Arrow Blast Final Attack and the Gold Ranger's Rockstorm Blast Final Attack. He gets gigantified and goes on a rampage on the city so the Rangers summoned the Ninja Steel Zords and form the Ninja Steel Megazord to battle him. The monster has the upper hand at first but the Robo Red Zord goes solo and does a Tornado Spin on him, causing him to get dizzy. Trapsaw is then destroyed by the Ninja Steel Megazord's Master Slash Final Attack. Tvicon.png TV STORY-The Ranger Ribbon

Trapsaw on Cosmo's board game

Trapsaw appears as one of the monster for the Rangers to fight in Cosmo Royale's board game Grave Robber along with an army of Kudabots. Knowing that they are on a time limit, the Red Ranger manages to sneak behind them and take them all out with his Red Ninja Strike Steel Slash. Tvicon.png TV STORY-Grave Robber

Trapsaw was, in many ways, the polar opposite of his twin brother Ripperat. Whereas Ripperat was highly aggressive and serious, Trapsaw was bumbling and funny and his overall personality was quite similar to that of a clown or a jester. Despite this, he took his mission seriously and did everything to take the Power Stars. He was also shown to get annoyed when no one goes to his traps as shown near the climax of the episode that he was going to cut down the Ribbon Tree due to how everyone is completely focused on it.

Powers and Abilities

  • Durability: Since he was a klutz when it comes to setting up traps, Trapsaw often took a lot of punishment from his own traps but remained unfazed. He was smacked over the head by an anvil and only fell over.
  • Kudabots Summoning: Trapsaw could summon Kudabots for an aid in battle.

  • Trap Setting-Although Trapsaw was always falling into his own traps, he was extremely skilled at setting them up in the first place.

  • Chainsaw Gauntlets: Much like Ripperat previously, Trapsaw had a pair of chainsaw-like gauntlets on his arms that could be used in combat.
    • Energy Empowerment: Trapsaw could charge up his chainsaw gauntlets with purple energy for an increase in power similar to his brother.
  • Traps: Trapsaw could set up a variety of cartoon-like traps, though they typically end up trapping himself instead of his intended victims. These included:
    • Anvil: Trapsaw could set a red colored X on the ground and have a giant anvil fall on the victim.
    • Wrecking Ball: Trapsaw could set a yellow colored X on the ground and have a giant rock-like wrecking ball bash the victim.
    • Sink Hole: Trapsaw could set a red colored X on the ground and have a sink hole appear under the victim, it appears near the end of the episode. This was the only one to not trap Trapsaw but rather Victor and Monty since he was already dead by this point.

Behind the Scenes

  • Trapsaw was voiced by David Van Horn using a stereotypically stupid voice.

  • Trapsaw was designed to resemble an anthropomorphic with chainsaw sickles attached.

  • His name was a portmanteau was a combination of traps and chainsaw.
    • Trapsaw's name was very similar to Trapjaw, an antagonist of the animated series, He-Man.

  • Trapsaw had the exact same counterpart as his brother as they were derived from the same character. As a result, Trapsaw appeared almost exclusively in American footage and only the Zord battle was from Ninninger,
    • His Zord fight was previously unused footage from the fight between his brother's counterpart and the Ninja Steel Megazord originally cut to introduce it more dramatically during a fight against a Skullgators.
