Trivia

  • This is the first season since GoGo-V in which there's no "ranger" or "-ger" in the name.
    • This is also the only series where the Sentai concept is represented by merely the word "Go", the Japanese word for "Five". Himitsu Sentai Goranger also used "Go", but also used "Ranger" in it's title; while GoGo-V could have had the "Go" for "Five" in it's title but also used the Roman Numeral "V" for "Five", akin to Goggle V.
    • This is also the first Sentai team to have their name be in plural format as their official name.
    • This is also the fourth Sentai team to have only three core Rangers. Sun Vulcan is the first, Hurricaneger was the second, and Gekiranger was the third.
  • It is rumoured that that the first two Space Sheriff's of Metal Heroes, Gavan, who will appear in Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger vs. Space Sheriff Gavan and Sharivan, will serve as mentors to the team.
  • This is the first season since Boukenger to have an Extra Hero.
  • As usual of Toei, this season's name has plenty of double meaning names.
    • "Tokumei" can be translated into either "mission" (特命), what the season chose, or it's homophone, "anonymous" (匿名).
    • "Gobusters" can be a corrupted version of the word "goubatsu" (劫罰), meaning "eternal punishment".
    • The BuddyRoid names are corrupted versions of their respective animal and what food that animal likes, with Nikku being "niku" (肉), meat.
    • The IchigaBuster, the gun sidearms, is derived from "Ichigan refukamera" (一眼レフカメラ), the Japanese term for a single-lens reflex camera.
    • The SougaBlade, the sword sidearms, is derived from "Sōgankyō" (双眼鏡), the Japanese term for a pair of binoculars.
