This article is about a Morpher in Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue. |
"Titanium Power!"
Ryan uses the Titanium Morpher to morph into the Titanium Ranger.
Stolen by Ryan Mitchell, this advanced prototype Morpher was too dangerous to be used by any of the other Lightspeed Rangers; the circuitry of this Morpher was stated to be too powerful for an ordinary human - this was shown when Carter attempted to morph with the Titanium Morpher which nearly killed him. How Ryan was able to endure its circuitry was never elaborated.
Ryan was prevented from using his Morpher for a time when Diabolico cursed him with a cobra tattoo that threatened to climb further up his back each time he morphed, until finally it would reach his neck and kill him; it was only after a means was found to remove the curse that Ryan could return to his duty as the Titanium Ranger.
Although originally intending to return their Morphers once Mariner Bay was secure, the Lightspeed Rangers chose to remain active for some time afterwards. What ultimately became of the Lightspeed Morphers and technology is unknown; however, Ryan did use the Titanium Morpher again in "Time for Lightspeed" to aid his fellow Lightspeed Rangers (who used their Rescue Morphers), as well as the Time Force Rangers, in defeating the undead Vypra. He used it again when he fought the army of X Borgs with his team.
Morphing Sequence[]
Ryan would call out "Titanium Power!" and press a small black tab under the mid-way section of the Morpher's blue 'M'-shaped symbol, triggering the up-sliding open of the symbol's 'V'-shaped center panel to reveal the Lightspeed Rescue symbol, instantly activating the Morpher's morph function; a much larger V then descends down his body to form his suit, with his helmet's gas mask already present and its visor snapping down closed, completing the morph.
Notes[]
- As with the Titanium Ranger himself, the Titanium Morpher is exclusive to Power Rangers and does not appear in GoGoFive; the Titanium Morpher's stylized M shape, however, is derived from the "M" logos seen on the wings of the Liner Boy, renamed the Max Solarzord for Lightspeed Rescue, as the formally-pilotless machine was intended to be rewritten as Ryan's personal Zord.
- In his very first morph, Ryan was seen in his regular clothes before activating the Titanium Morpher but is then seen wearing his yet-to-be-acquired Lightspeed Jacket during the morph sequence; this bizarre tradition of a Power Ranger morphing in their yet-to-be-acquired Power Ranger pre-morph uniform during their very first morph is followed by Cam, Jack, Mack, RJ, Dom, Dillon, and Antonio.
- Two 'lettered' buttons are seen to either side of the morph sequence's triggering black tab, but so far, the exact effects are unknown - however it can be assumed that these buttons may represent another purpose each of the Morpher based on what exactly they are short for:
- C: Call/Communication
- W: Weapon (weapon summoning)
The workings of these buttons so far appear only in the toy release.
