The Nemesis[1] is the twenty-second and final episode of Power Rangers Dino Fury Season 2, and the forty-fourth and final episode overall.

It concludes the four-episode final arc and features Tarrick's return and only on-screen morph as Void Knight, the only appearance of the Nemesis Beast, the final appearances of the Sporix Beasts and Void Queen, and the first appearance of Zayto's Zenith Ranger form.

Synopsis[]

In order to defeat their biggest challenge, the Rangers must make a great sacrifice.

Plot[]

The Rangers and Tarrick return to Dinohenge to formulate a plan to stop the cocoon from exploding and leveling all of Pine Ridge. Tarrick warns them that the cocoon will hatch into something that has all the power of the Sporix combined, and he has no idea how to stop Void Queen. Worse, Tarrick says his wife is full of hate due to the belief that Amelia died years ago, and she has no idea she is attacking her own daughter. Amelia believes that she could purify Void Queen using her memory link as she did with Tarrick, and he agrees as that could be their only hope to stop her.

Meanwhile, Orria and the Rafkonian warriors take out Trawler and the Fly Sporix Beast, only for them to go to the cocoon. As those were the last of the Sporix accounted for, Zayto tells Orria to evacuate her troops while the Rangers deal with Void Queen. The cocoon grows and emits more electricity as Tarrick finds it too dangerous for Amelia to mind link to Void Queen while she is inside the cocoon. The only way to mind link with Void Queen is to get her out of the cocoon, but the others tell Tarrick that the slightest touch will cause the cocoon to hatch and explode. Zayto believes that if he could teleport to the desert while wearing the Dino Knight Armor, it could protect him from the explosion while saving everyone. However, Tarrick begs Zayto to let him become Void Knight one more time as all of this was his fault. Zayto reluctantly gives Tarrick the Dino Knight Morpher, and the latter changes it to his shield, transforming into Void Knight once again. Amelia hugs her dad as Tarrick pushes towards the cocoon and teleports himself and it out of the city. The explosion happens afterwards, and the Rangers morph before teleporting to the desert.

The Rangers find Tarrick lying next to the shattered remains of the Dino Knight Morpher, alive but weakened. Tarrick shows them what the cocoon hatched into, a gigantic Sporix Beast with Void Queen piloting it. Void Queen dubs the creature as her Nemesis Beast, and Amelia tries calling out to the former to get her to listen to her. However, Void Queen refuses to listen to Amelia and fires blasts at her. Tarrick says they must get Void Queen out of the Nemesis Beast in order to try and talk her down. Zayto tells Solon to summon their entire Zord fleet and tells Tarrick he was wrong about him after seeing the latter’s noble actions today. Tarrick runs to safety as all the Zords arrive.

The Rangers then use their Dino Keys to activate the Megazords and pilot the three of them. Zayto and Ollie piloting the Dino Fury Megazord Smash Formation, the Garcia siblings piloting the Ptera Freeze Zord Battle Mode wielding weapons from the Tiger Claw and Stego Spike Zords, and Amelia and Aiyon pilot the Mosa Cosmic Megazord wielding a weapon from the Dimetro Blazing Zord. All three Megazords charge at the Nemesis Beast and attack it but find that its skin is tough. Zayto and Ollie restrain the Nemesis Beast, but it frees itself and strikes out them and the Garcia siblings. Thankfully, Amelia and Aiyon save them from a blast, only for the Nemesis Beast to emit an energy wave that disassembles the Megazords and fires at the Zords.

With no other options, Zayto calls for the Dino Master Saber and plans to use the ultimate attack to stop the Nemesis Beast. Amelia refuses to let Zayto use it as he will be destroyed along with the Nemesis Beast, only for Void Queen to fire at the Red Ranger. Then, Amelia suggests that she gets close enough to Void Queen to show her mother the truth. The Rangers, sans Zayto, skydive from the air and slide across the Nemesis Beast, fighting through the Hengemen Void Queen summons. As the Rangers get closer, Amelia teleports close to Void Queen’s open cockpit as the others fall to the ground and demorph. Amelia hangs on to the ledge and begs Void Queen to listen to her and stop her revenge. Amelia tells Void Queen she is her daughter, but the latter refuses to believe that before blasting her away.

Suddenly, Zayto confronts Void Queen with the Zords and activates the ultimate attack using the Dino Master Saber. The Zords then trap the Nemesis Beast in energy beams before sacrificing themselves to merge with the Dino Master Saber. With all the power combined, Zayto uses the ultimate attack to bring the Nemesis Beast down, only for him to die in the process and the Dino Master Saber to shatter. Aiyon is heartbroken to see Zayto sacrifice himself, and the Rangers mourn the loss of their friend. However, Void Queen teleports down and demands to know who told them everything. Tarrick reveals himself and begs Void Queen to listen to reason, even calling her Santaura. However, Void Queen discards her original name and fires at him and the Rangers. Void Queen prepares another blast to destroy her husband and the Rangers, but Amelia jumps from behind and grabs her. Using her mind link, Amelia shows Void Queen everything and how she really is her daughter.

Seeing the memories causes Void Queen to grow confused, and she launches her charged attack at the Nemesis Beast. The blast destroys the Nemesis Beast, and the Sporix, now depowered, falls around the Rangers. The mental link worked as Santaura returns to her senses and returns to normal, hugging Amelia as she finally reunites with her daughter. Afterwards, the Morphin Masters arrive due to a surge from the Grid and congratulate the Rangers for vanquishing the Sporix. They use their powers to seal the Sporix in a crystal, and Master Red deems their mission complete. Aiyon Izzy and Javi begs the Morphin Masters to save Zayto as they did before, but Master Green cryptically says their friend will live on in their hearts, memories, and the Morphin Grid. Master Blue recovers Zayto’s pendant for Aiyon to collect, and they leave to take the Sporix away so they will never threaten humanity ever again. With their mission over, the Rangers, Tarrick, and Santaura teleport out of the desert. As they leave, a familiar green slime puddle snakes its way out of a rock.

Six months after the final battle, the Rafkonian warriors set up a new home at Area 62 with help from Pop-Pop. Amelia and Ollie help Pop-Pop with the design, and they go over to Tarrick and Santaura, who are painting a new crib for their unborn daughter. After they playfully debate over what color to paint the crib, Amelia uses her mind link to see what her sister wants: Briarwood green. Afterwards, Amelia and Ollie leave to meet with the other Rangers at the plaza. They meet up with the Garcia siblings at Aiyon’s Café, a restaurant the latter opened sometime after the final battle. Izzy shows Fern and Javi a video of her winning the 200-meter sprint and setting a new record, and Amelia and Ollie join the group to celebrate Izzy’s graduation. Izzy plans to go to Oakdale to be with Fern while Aiyon serves Jane and J-Borg Flargon cakes. Jane puts in an order for a big cake to celebrate a new BuzzBlast opening at Angel Grove while Javi meets with a fan playing a cover of his song. Suddenly, Solon contacts the Rangers and tells them to go to Dinohenge immediately.

They teleport down and see a big energy fluctuation in front of them. The energy begins to form into a human-like figure and clears up to reveal a new Ranger. The Ranger takes off his helmet, and, to everyone’s shock, it turns out to be a resurrected Zayto. Everyone is happy to see Zayto back, who explains that the Morphin Masters brought his energy back from the Morphin Grid while creating a new Ranger power set for him. However, Zayto says he returned with urgent news: Lord Zedd has escaped, and they must stop him immediately. The rest of the Rangers morph, and Zayto leads the team to stop Lord Zedd, teleporting to parts unknown.

Errors[]

  • The Dino Knight Morpher and Dino Master Saber are seen in their display cases at the end of the episode, despite both being destroyed in the final battle. This has been acknowledged by Bennett who has confirmed that this is a continuity mistake.[2]

Notes[]

  • Zayto speaks the phrase "Cool, cool, Coolio", which he only said in "New Recruits" previously.
  • This episode marks the only time that all eleven Zords appear in one episode.
  • The last moments of the finale tie directly into the next season Power Rangers Cosmic Fury, with Lord Zedd escaping from the Morphin Masters’ crystallized prison. Zayto and the others were tasked with venturing into space in order to stop him.
  • This marks the final appearances of the Dino Fury Zords, the Dino Master Saber, and the Dino Knight Morpher, as all were destroyed in the final battle with the Nemesis Beast and Void Queen.
  • This is the final appearance of Santaura's Void Queen form, as she is finally free of the Sporix's evil. This is also the final appearance of the Sporix as the Morphin Masters have sealed them away, with the exception of Mucus and the Sporix powering Slyther, so that they can never cause harm to anyone ever again.
  • It was revealed in the six-month time-skip that Santaura became pregnant with a baby girl, Amelia's sister. Behind the scenes, Santaura's actress Siobhan Marshall was pregnant during filming for the series.
  • Ocean Bluff, Angel Grove, Corinth, and Briarwood are all mentioned.
    • Jane stated that BuzzBlast recently opened in Angel Grove, which is later seen in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always.
    • Ocean Bluff, Briarwood, and Corinth were mentioned as colors being thrown around to decide what color Tarrick and Santaura's unborn child's new baby crib should be.
  • It was revealed that Mucus and Slyther had survived the final battle and are now living peacefully as humans running a circus together.
  • As of this episode, the Void Family is defunct: Snageye, Nulleye and Wreckmate are destroyed, Void King and Void Queen are purified, and Mucus and Slyther are redeemed.
  • The surviving Rafkonians have made Earth their new home and will now be living where Area 62 used to be.
  • This marks the final appearances of the Mosa Cosmic Megazord, the Dino Fury Megazord Smash Formation and the Ptera Freeze Zord Battle Mode.
  • Since the endgame arc takes place on March 12 and given that six months has passed, it was around September 12 during the epilogue.
  • Fern makes a return since Things Unspoken.
  • It is unknown if Tarrick returned the Hengemen and Fix-It Dino Keys.
