This article is about an episode in Power Rangers Dino Fury. |
The Invasion[1] is the twentieth episode of Power Rangers Dino Fury season 2, and the forty-second episode overall. This is the second part to the four-part endgame arc of the series.[2] It also marks the debut and only appearance of the Dino Fury Megazord Warrior Blade Formation and provides a revelation about Amelia's past.
Synopsis[]
When the Rafkonians arrive in Pine Ridge, the Rangers are shocked to learn they believe humans are selfish and intend to colonize Earth. But when their leader Orria sees the good that humans have in their hearts in the midst of a massive Sporix Beast attack, her mind is changed.
Plot[]
Following Void King storming the base and taking the Sporix Chest, the Rangers teleport to find a weakened Solon on the ground. Before Zayto can devise a plan to reclaim the Sporix, Amelia’s phone rings, and she answers it. Jane tells her that a spaceship is landing near Pine Ridge, and she tells her to investigate it. Solon confirms Jane’s observation and finds out that the spaceship is orbiting near Dinohenge. The Rangers go outside and prepare for the worse, only for the aliens to teleport down. They note that the antennas look familiar, and Zayto welcomes their leader to Earth. The aliens’ leader introduces herself as Orria and reveals that she and her group are Rafkonians. Aiyon is excited to be standing in front of Rafkonians after sixty-five million years, but Ollie and Zayto are skeptical as they were tricked before by Slyther. Thankfully, a quick mental scan gives Zayto enough proof that Orria is telling the truth.
The Rangers take Orria and her soldiers inside the base, where she explains what happened after the Knights of Rafkon left the planet. To restore Rafkon, their ancestors hid the planet, and a few survivors became nomadic scavengers until it was time to return to Rafkon. The beacons the Rangers found were meant to bring back the Knights of Rafkon, but Zayto asks why Orria finally responded to the numerous messages he sent them. Orria admits that she thought the messages were a hoax, and some people thought the Knights of Rafkon were mere legends passed down. However, due to the destruction of Rafkon, Orria was finally convinced that the messages were real. Zayto reveals that they were there when Rafkon was destroyed due to Lord Zedd, but Orria is saddened that their planet was gone forever. However, Orria does deem Earth amazing, and she never thought to be in the presence of two legends.
After the talk, Orria pulls Zayto and Aiyon away for a private meeting. Orria believes that Earth will be perfect for the Rafkonians, which pleases Zayto and Aiyon as humans and Rafkonians could live together. However, Orria thinks that humanity has taken Earth for granted and shows the two videos of wars and pollution that have caused harm to their planet. Orria believes that humans are greedy and selfish, so the plan is for the Rafkonians to colonize Earth and lead the humans on a better path. Zayto and Aiyon are not thrilled about this plan as they do not see humanity in a bad light, but Orria reminds them a Knight of Rafkon is supposed to protect people. Zayto and Aiyon say that nothing about colonizing Earth is honorable to their code, but Orria says her mind has been made up. She gives the two the option to join their people or be destroyed. Zayto and Aiyon reject Orria’s offer and order the Rafkonians to leave their base. Orria has her warriors surround the Rangers.
In Area 62, Void Queen marvels over the complete collection of Sporix she has, and Void King asks if this is what she wanted. Void Queen says she is pleased and sends the Sporix to Pine Ridge to destroy it. The Sporix land at Pine Ridge and immediately hatch in Sporix Beasts the Rangers fought before. They terrorize the civilians, leading to numerous calls from the Ranger Hotline. Zayto warns Orria that the Sporix will destroy Earth as they did to Rafkon and asks her to help them defend the planet. Orria reluctantly agrees to help the Rangers, but she swears that Earth will be under the Rafkonians afterwards. Amelia and the Garcia siblings call their loved ones and tell them to be safe while the Rangers deal with the Sporix. Once everyone is ready, the Rangers morph, and they and the Rafkonian warriors teleport to the city.
The Rangers confront Wreckmate, who is leading Roofstafa, a Stone Sporix Beast, and a new one they never fought before, Crashflood. With the help of Orria and the Rafkonian warriors, they fight off the Sporix Beasts, but Crashflood overwhelms them with his water blasts. Wreckmate joins in the fight and knocks out four Rangers. Suddenly, Mucus teleports and tells them that Void Queen has given them a new assignment at the dam. The group teleports, and Javi informs Solon about the dam. Meanwhile, Orria, Zayto, and Aiyon neutralize Roofstafa and the Stone Sporix Beast back into their cell forms, but Void Queen reclaims them. Clawfare and Boneswitch arrive with some Hengemen, and the fight resumes.
At the dam, Void Queen arrives with Tidemare and Fogshell, driving away civilians who were planting trees earlier. Void Queen orders Crashflood to destroy the dam and have 33 billion gallons of water flood the city. Pop-Pop, who was with the group when Amelia called earlier, calls the Ranger Hotline, and Solon warns Zayto about Void Queen’s plan. Orria orders some of her troops to stay behind and deal with Trakenslash and Occulo while she orders the rest to come with her and the Rangers. The group confronts Wreckmate’s group as Crashflood grows into a giant. Zayto calls on Solon to send out the Zords and gives Ollie the Red Power Key so he and the Garcia siblings can deal with Crashflood. The trio forms the Dino Fury Megazord Warrior Blade Formation while the others fight Wreckmate and the Sporix Beasts on the ground. During the fight, Orria nearly trips over Pop-Pop’s shovel and orders him to stay out of the way. After Orria leaves, Pop-Pop takes notice of her antennas. Ollie’s group fight Crashflood, but the latter proves too much for the Megazord and disables it. Having taken their fight with Wreckmate to the dam, Zayto activates Dino Master Mode and uses a Freeze Fury Blast to freeze Crashflood’s maelstrom. Then, Zayto uses the T-Rex Master Strike against Clashflood as Wreckmate summons the Hengemen. Zayto defeats them with ease before passing the Dino Master Saber to Aiyon. Aiyon activates Dino Master Mode before using a Mosa Master Strike to knock down Wreckmate and force him to retreat. Zayto activates Dino Knight Mode, and the Rafkonian Rangers combine their powers to defeat Crashflood and save the dam. Crashflood returns to his cell form, and Void Queen claims it.
Meanwhile, Fogshell knocks down Orria, but Pop-Pop comes to her aid by defending her with his shovel. However, Fogshell’s barbs break the shovel and swats Pop-Pop aside. Amelia rushes to Pop-Pop’s side and takes her helmet off, revealing to the latter that she is the Pink Ranger. The rest of the Rangers arrive to help the group, and Zayto tells Amelia to take Pop-Pop back to base for medical attention. Having been saved by Pop-Pop, Orria realizes that humans are not as bad as she thought and agrees with Zayto on how they can share with them. When Solon tells Zayto that the evacuation is taking longer than expected, Orria volunteers to take some of her people to help.
At Dinohenge, Solon and Amelia give an injured Pop-Pop medicine to heal him, but the former knows he will need more due to severe internal injuries. As Solon prepares more medicine, Pop-Pop tells Amelia something about her parents in case he does not make it. Years ago, an experiment went horribly wrong at Area 62, and a young alien couple was trapped under rubble. The couple had a baby that they gave to Pop-Pop, and he reveals that Amelia was that baby. Before Pop-Pop can say more, he passes out from his wounds as Amelia ponders this new revelation.
