While playing Frisbee in the park, Billy, Adam and Aisha dodges an alien ship. On the other side of the park, Bulk and Skull try a new attempt on finding the identities of the Power Rangers using an UFO book with the belief(and later being true) that they are Aliens from Outer Space. Bulk took picture of the space craft, but Skull reminded him that there's no film in there.

[[Bookala]] crash landed in Angel Grove, where his ship was picked up by Billy, Adam and Aisha. [[Lord Zedd]] realizes this and orders Goldar to fire at once. While under attack, Adam runs quickly to grab the blanket, wrap it around the ship and allowed the Rangers to escape with the ship. Inside [[Serpentera]], Zedd yells at Goldar for missing the target and refused to hear anymore about needing to recharge his zord for it has been drained with too much power.

At the Command Center, Billy, Adam and Aisha unveils the spaceship to Tommy, Kimberly and Rocky. Zordon revealed that Bookala was being pursued across the galaxy by Zedd because his ship is powered by a rare lightning diamond. If Zedd succeeds in getting the diamond, he could give the often power drained Serpentera an infinite power source thus making it invincible. This is a headache that neither the Rangers and Earth need. When inside its ship, it is the size of a doll and even looks like one but can grow to full size when holding the diamond. From the planet of the same name, Bookala is very intelligent and tries to imitate others to learn their language. The rangers come up with an idea to create a fake Bookala and Lightning Diamond to distract Zedd while the real Bookala and diamond went back into space and escape. Zordon approves of the plan, knowing Zedd's greed in his attempt to gain the rare lightning diamond can be used against him.

While in the park, Bulk as Skull replicate one of the crop circle signs seen in the book in an attempt to attract both aliens and Power Rangers.

While repairing the ship, Bookala is impressed with the rangers helping him out. His ship is soon repaired and Bookala uses a snow globe to show them it snows on Bookala as well, which Billy revealed there is no snow in Angel Grove. Tommy calls Billy, Adam and Aisha warn them about Zedd approaching Earth in a 2nd attempt to get the lightning diamond. To prevent them from helping Bookala escape, Zedd created [[Weldo]] from Billy's welding machine to stop them. While trying to escape in the park with Bookala and his ship, Tommy, Kimberly and Rocky morph to help them reach the park. When Weldo hit Bookala, he is in despair thinking he may never get home. Outraged with Weldo, Billy had him destroyed for harming his friends with his Blade Blaster in gun mode. To keep Bookala and the real diamond safe, the Rangers had him teleported to the Command Center.

On the way to Earth, Goldar takes notice of the Rangers attempt to send Bookala back into space. Zedd orders him to get that diamond and stop the Rangers. Goldar leaves for Earth while Zedd laments he'll teach the alien a lesson in not fleeing from him. After putting both the fake Bookala doll and diamond on the ship, Goldar arrives demanding the lightning diamond. After beating the Putties, the rangers turn their attention to Goldar who manages to defeat them and steal the "lightning diamond". He gloats that Serpentera will be unstoppable and teleports away. The Rangers succeed in their plan and Zedd now has the fake diamond.

In Serpentera, Goldar brings what it's believed to be the Lightning Diamond to Zedd, whom is pleased knowing that the Rangers and Earth will be unable to stop Serpentera at it's full strength.

While the Rangers are saying their farewell to Bookala, Zordon warns them that Zedd is coming closer to Earth. Before leaving, Bookala shows his token of appreciation by letting it snow in Angel Grove as a gift for the Rangers. After returning to his doll form he and his ship leave for his home. In flying away, Bulk and Skull presumably succeed in taking pictures of the spaceship.

Inching closer to Earth and feeling assured of their victory, Zedd noticed something wrong when Serpentera had lost power. He realized too late that they were tricked by the Rangers when [[Goldar]] took the fake diamond out Serpentera's power grid and it fried. Enraged at seeing Bookala escape, Zedd ordered Goldar to fire at the ship, which only succeeded in further damaging Serpentera. Furious over his lost chance to steal the diamond, Zedd turned the fake Bookala into an [[Evil Bookala|evil version]] of the original to fight the Rangers. They aren't fooled, so Zedd uses one of his grenades to grow the evil Bookala. Calling for the thunder zords, the rangers prepared to fight the fake. This Bookala had a long and deadly black tongue that lashed out and wrapped around the Thunder Megazord, but the Rangers untied themselves from this situation by slicing the tongue with the Thunder Saber. The Evil Bookala was destroyed by the Thunder Saber.

At the youth center, Kimberly receives a postcard from Jason, Zack and Trini from their time the World Peace Conference in Switzerland. She reads aloud to the others as Bulk and Skull show up with developed picture which they believe is the Power Rangers. However as they take the developed photos from the envelope, everyone laughs at Bulk and Skull when it reveals it was photo of themselves covered in paint.

Synopsis

Notes

  • Final time Zack and Trini would ever be mentioned on Power Rangers (outside of flashbacks and clip shows) with their postcard from the World Peace Conference to the Power Teens read aloud by Kimberly. Jason is also included as one of the senders, but he will return in Zeo's "A Golden Homecoming".
  • Serpentera appears next in "The Wedding, Part 3".
  • Though not canon, the Zeo Serial (Short #12) has some unnamed citizens sharing Bulk & Skull's belief that the Power Rangers are alien.
    • Furthermore, said speculation is proven to have merit due to the later debut of Rangers originating from other planets like Aquitar Rangers & Trey of Triforia.

Errors

  • While in the workshop, Aisha is wearing a Hawaiian lei for no apparent reason.
