The Blue and the Gold is the fifteenth episode of Power Rangers Samurai. The episode concludes the three-part arc concerning Antonio's pursuit to become a "true samurai" in the eyes of Jayden's friends, while also revealing the fate of Deker after his battle with Master Xandred in the Netherworld.

Synopsis[]

As Antonio attempts to gain Kevin's respect as a true Samurai, Octoroo devises a plan to create a stronger portal between the Netherworld and Earth via a secret ancient well.

Plot[]

Two kids were at a playground playing basketball. When their ball went into the bushes, it was taken away, leaving a trail of slime in its place. Their toy truck was also stolen and like their ball, a trail of slime was also there where the toy truck was.

At the Shiba House, Antonio has joined the team. However, Kevin is displeased at this, because he is just a techie without any samurai skills. Antonio is displeased at this.

Meanwhile, in the Netherworld on the ship, Master Xandred angrily asked Dayu where Octoroo is while Master Xandred silence the Furry Warts for repeating what he just say. Dayu says that Octoroo is away working on a big scheme but didn't tell Dayu what is but he did told her if Octoroo's plan works, she and Master Xandred will finally be free from the Sanzu River for good much to Master Xandred's amusement.

On the surface world, Octoroo found a well while explaining about his plan for stealing kids favorite toys and the children's tears will help the Sanzu River rise. A Nighlok named Antberry, the same Nighlok who stole the ball and toy truck from before also brought other stolen toys in his possession.

In the Shiba House at night, Antonio places three spycams in several places in the house. He hopes this will let him learn about the Samurai ways from Kevin.

Back in the Netherworld, Dayu found Deker who is unconscious, relieved that Master Xandred didn't destroy him but she wished he did so that Deker's curse would be broken so his spirit would finally be at peace but it would have been too easy for Deker. Dayu wonders that does Deker even remember her after she remembered that Deker saved her from the Samurai Rangers' Fire Smasher attack from her last battle with the Rangers.

Back at the Shiba House, Antonio's three spycams allows him to watch Kevin practicing sparring, making letters, and reading the "Ways of the Samurai." Kevin goes to sleep at 12:00 a.m, in which Antonio does too.

Elsewhere, Bulk and Spike where also having a good night sleep. Antberry quietly stole their stuff Panda bear. the Nighlok briefly had a mishalf from Spike who is still asleep but Antberry recovered and escaped with their favorite toy.

At morning in the Shiba House, Kevin, now awake goes out for a jog later on, and Antonio who also wakes up begins to follow him.

Back with Bulk and Spike, they wake up and noticed that their Panda bear mascot they call Sammy is missing from the shelf with a trail of slime in its place. They feared Sammy have been kidnapped.

Back to Kevin and Antonio, they reach the forest, when Kevin hears Octoroo snickering and Kevin knows Antonio was following him. They go to the site of the laughter, and try to contact Jayden and the others, but Octoroo's secret barriers jam their signals. Octoroo discovers them and fires a blast at a rock, causing them to morph. Antberry then fights them, and uses his Sanzu Slime attack to make their weapons slippery. Antonio and Kevin try to fight their best, but Octoroo then blasts them from a far distance. Octoroo then gets displeased at Antberry because his slime had dulled the weapon, and Octoroo then tells him to start sharpening it, and sends the Moogers on a hunt for Kevin and Antonio.

Back at Xandred's ship, Master Xandred suspected that Dayu is hiding something from him. A flashback reveals that Deker awaken and recovered, thanking Dayu for saving him which Dayu reminds him that he saved her from the Rangers before and that makes them even. Dayu curiously asked Deker why he wants to duel the Red Ranger. Deker says that he is compelled to have the ultimate duel between him and Jayden and that's all that matters. Dayu suspected that Deker still doesn't remember much about his past and left as the flashback ended. Dayu tells Master Xandred that she's not hiding anything.

Back at the Shiba House, the Rangers where wondering where Kevin and Antonio are since they were not back from jogging. Jayden senses that someone is not right.

Meanwhile back at the forest, Kevin tries to get Jayden and the others, but the barriers still disable their signal. He motions Antonio to stay here, and gets into a fight with a group of Moogers, using one of their swords to defeat the others. Antonio comes with him, with Kevin telling him not to keep moving, but Antonio tells Kevin he doesn't want to be treated as a regular, and wants to be a Samurai.

In the Shiba House, Jayden and the others still wait for Kevin, who is taking too long on his morning jog, and at 8:01 a.m. go look for him.

Back at the forest, Kevin and Antonio then reach a cliff, and Antonio is struggling, but Kevin then helps him up, and they both fight another group of Moogers. Antonio then tells Kevin to use his remains of the scarf for a grip so Antberry will be unable to make their weapons slippery anymore. Kevin and Antonio morphed and defeated the Moogers.

As Antberry has finished sharpening his weapon, he begins to cut the bike. However the Dragon FoldingZord attacks him and the Mooger holding the bike, causing the axe to fall into the well with Octoroo being worried and disappointed. They easily defeat the Moogers, and lead Antberry and Octoroo out. Antberry slimes Kevin and Antonio again, but this time the scarf pieces keep their weapons from slipping out of their hands. Despite this, Antberry still has the upper hand against the two Rangers.

Jayden and the others then find Kevin and Antonio. Octoroo knows that he and Antberry will be defeated, so he sneaks out from a portal, and Antberry takes all of them on, but gets destroyed.

Antberry turns into a Mega-Monster. The Rangers make the Octo Spear Megazord, using the OctoZord for the spear. Antberry retaliates with some Sanzu Slime, knocking the OctoZord out of the Samurai Megazord due to the slippery grip the Megazord had from the slime. They do it again, and Antonio freezes Antberry, making him unable to use his slime. They use their Mega Blades, which shocks Antberry and destroys him at the same time.

In the Shiba House, The Rangers retrieve the stolen toys and returns them to their rightful owners, including the two kids at the park and Spike.

Cast[]

Power Discs[]

Errors[]

  • In one shot where the camera zooms closer to Antonio, the Clawzord control totem can briefly be seen, despite the fact that Antonio had summoned the Octozord.
  • When Kevin says "Antonio join us" he is in the SwordfishZord's cockpit, you can tell because if look toward the bottom center of the screen, you can seen apart of the totem.
  • When Antonio gives Kevin the rag, he's much furthur away from him, when in the previous scene he was right next to him.
  • Despite Jayden using his Lion Disc for his Blazing Strike attack, the Tiger Disc can be seen instead. Though this is probably a camera goofs.

Notes[]

  • Antberry was destroyed.
  • Though the ClawZord makes a cameo appearance in this episode, it does not make its full appearance until the next episode.
  • Similar to "Good Karma, Bad Karma" (Jungle Fury) the Rangers battle a monster with slime power, and use some sort of piece of clothing to fight against his slime power.
  • This episode was the highest rated of Samurai, with 3.7 million views over the 2 million average.
