The Reiwa period (令和時代 Reiwa jidai) is the current period of Japan that started with the abdication of Emperor Akihito and the ascension of his son Prince Naruhito as of May 1, 2019, which ended the Heisei period. All Super Sentai seasons, merchandise and projects after Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger will be officially designated in official patents and registry as products of the Reiwa period.
In Super Sentai, the Reiwa period started during the 7th episodes of Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger, with Mashin Sentai Kiramager being the first Super Sentai title of the Reiwa period.
In 2020, Mashin Sentai Kiramager: The Movie was planned to be released on July 23, 2020, but was delayed due to the 2020 coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic. However, on February 10, 2021, TOEI had been announced that was changed into triple-billed, alongside with Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger Special Chapter: Memory of Soulmates and Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger The Movie: Red Battle! All Sentai Rally!!.
On March 20, 2021, Kamen Rider Saber: The Movie
was announced to premiere sometime later in 2021, double-billng with Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger: The Movie. However, TOEI had been announced that was changed the name into Kamen Rider Saber ＋ Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger: Superhero Senki.
