The Heisei period (平成時代 Heisei jidai) is the previous era in Japan, taking place after the Showa period, which started from January 8, 1989, the first day after the death of the reigning Emperor, Hirohito. Akihito, then the Crown Prince, succeeded to the throne until he abdicated on April 30, 2019 and later designated as "Emperor Emeritus" (太上天皇 Daijō Tennō) in accordance with Japanese customs. The next day, Naruhito, the Crown Prince of this era, ascended the throne, marking the end of the Heisei period and the beginning of the Reiwa period.
In Super Sentai, the Heisei period started during the last episodes of Choujuu Sentai Liveman, with Kousoku Sentai Turboranger being the first Super Sentai title of the Heisei period.
So far only the Zyuranger-Kyoryuger, Ninninger and Ryusoulger series (skipping ToQger, Zyuohger, Kyuranger and Lupinranger vs Patranger) have been adapted for Power Rangers and all 23 are from the Heisei Era.
