Sumino Ichikawa (一河 角乃 Ichikawa Sumino) is a high class master detective who transforms into GozyuUnicorn (ゴジュウユニコーン Gojūyunikōn), the Black Ranger of the Gozyugers.
History
Past
Sumino lived along with her younger sister Oto since the latter's birth, while she became a police officer after graduation. Eight Years before the series began, Oto has disappeared while the police do not make any progress in searching for her whereabouts. This incident took a toll on Sumino's mental state, as she was apprehended by her fellow police officers for losing her cool when she caught the supposed culprit. After that, Sumino was fired from the police force, and she became a private detective to continue the pursuit of the culprit, her only hints are a cutout of Oto’s case from a newspaper and her knowledge that Oto’s kidnapper is a male with a pair of Grey colored eyes.
Sumino later makes a Ring Contract with TegaSword in order to take back her sister, while receiving the power of reading other's mind by touching them. Though obtaining her own ring, Sumino was never able to transform. She later joins with Tokonatsu Atami as his assistant, forming a temporary alliance.
Joining the Gozyugers
Sumino was one of the Gozyugers, whose Sentai Ring was signaled by the resonating howl of GozyuWolf. Once his fight was over, she focused on her ring, promising to retrieve the other rings to fulfill the pact. 
TV STORY-Ep. 1: Savior No.1!
Later, she makes herself known to the team at the TegaSword Village where Rikuo, Hoeru and Ryugi discuss claiming Tokonatsu's ring, and tells them that it wouldn't be wise before calling Ryugi's parfait expensive, shattering the Monk's self-esteem. She then remembers that they have similar rings and questions why they are getting so well together. Ryugi tells her that per TegaSword's request, they need to collect all the Sentai rings, which is easier to accomplish as a team. Ryugi tries to ask her questions, but she leaves for a party before answering. After the Popularity Contest is finished, Tokonatsu takes his leave with the woman from earlier, who is revealed to be Sumino Ichikawa, the Prime Minister's right-hand lady, and a private, High-Class detective. TV STORY-Ep. 3: The Boss of Japan! I'm the Prime Minister!
Sumino later meets two people who was being questioned for reference of Oto's disappearance under the name of dating, using her powers on them, but she leaves after receiving no clues she want. She meets Tokonatsu again, while the latter gives her the Ryusolger Ring as an apology for asking too much. Sumino visit TegaSword Village again and asking to join Hoeru's team, while explaining her past. However, when Meddling No1 comes out and the team engages in the battle, Sumino takes the opportunity to steal all the Gozyuger's Ring from others and run away. When she run away, she stops on the middle to help caring a boy's leg injury, causing to be chased up by Hoeru, so that Sumino throws a fake ring so that she can run away, but was chased up again by the Buraidans this time. Still not able to transform, Hoeru chases up to protect her despite his ring was being lost, but was restrained by the Meddling No 1, While the latter offers Sumino to slay Hoeru in exchange for Oto's hair hoop which has the fingerprints of the culprit. However, after Hoeru's encouragement, Sumino decides to become her own meddling no.1 to help others but not annoying them, thus turndown the offer of the No 1 and thus the hair hoop was being burnt. Sumino raise up her GozyuUnicorn Ring, and vowing to use her powers to help others, thus successfully transform into GozyuUnicorn. Using the powers of Unicorn Drill and Ryusoulger Ring, Sumino defeats Meddling No 1 and officially joins Hoeru's team. While Kinjiro thinks that Sumino successfully transform due to giving up the desire of revenge, Sumino claims that she does not give up revenge on the culprit who kidnaps her sister and vows to teach him a lesson after reclaiming Oto. TV STORY-Ep. 5: Recover Your Soul! Don't Let Your Troubles Get in the Way
Since leaving Tokonatsu's side to join Gozyuger, Sumino is now working part-time in a bento shop to support her family and her living.
Post World Reset & the White Warrior
After TegaJune married TegaSword, the world was reset, and it caused the Gozyugers, including Sumino, to have different personalities and lose their memories, in which Sumino became organic and ecological.
After Mashiro tamed GoodeBurn, the world was reverted back to normal, and Sumino, along with the other Gozyugers, got their memories back. TV STORY-Ep. 16: True Savior No.1!
Meeting Rei Gushima and Learning the Truth

Rikuo is still concerned for Sumino. Sumino is in another room, looking up the history of the Bakugami Hospital to find the grey-eyed man who kidnapped her sister and Rei matched the records. She also stumbles upon a shocking picture, Rei and Rikuo together? Sumino is in absolute shock and awe. TV STORY-Ep. 31: I Am Tyranno! The Will to Save the World
At TegaSword Village, Sumino confronts Rikuo and shows him a picture of him with Rei when they were acquaintances. The others are shocked as this was the person they were fighting recently.

Sumino reveals Rikuo's past and how he tricked a fangirl, causing Rei to endure injuries that caused him to resign from being an surgeon at the Bakugami Hospital. Ryugi realizes that Rei was the victim and at the time of his disappearance Oto was missing. Rikuo, amazed by Sumino's detective skills, reveals she is right and reveals that Rei saved his life and was like a brother to him when they used to live together. He tells them that a girl came up to him with a knife and Rei came and protected him and collapsed. When he met him again, he told Rikuo about his illness and Mashiro realizes that when he researched him, that's how he stumbled upon Oto and used her as a human specimen and how Oto regained the power through the Shinkenger Sentai Ring and that's when Rei began his search for rings. He apologizes for not telling them. Sumino, still angry, grabs him by the collar and demands for Oto back, before storming out of the cafe.
Sumino is sitting by a lake and is confronted by Rei as he engages. Elsewhere, Rei is fighting Sumino and is overpowering her brutally. Just then, Rikuo, Ryugi and Mashiro arrive in time and they all take on Rei. Rikuo insists that Sumino stays back but she refuses and tells him to get out of her way. Mashiro tells he she can't keep on saying this. Sumino fights Bellum but is knocked to the ground, about to be shot with Bellum's finisher. Rikuo sees this, engages, becomes Zyuoh Eagle and protects Sumino, shielding the shot. He de-transforms and loses the Zyuohger Sentai Ring to Bellum, and claims that they can't afford to lose her because of his actions. Another shot comes but Mashiro shields the shot with his ice and tells Sumino and the others to retreat for now, Sumino refuses as she wants Oto's whereabouts and with no time, Mashiro's ice paves the way for their escape. Rikuo overpowers Rei with the flowing hatred within him and claims he wanted to spend more time with him and talk about so many things and asks how he could do such a thing. A weakened Rei de-transforms with tears overflowing in his eyes as Rikuo walks up to him with the TegaSword in his hand, remembering the times he's had with Rei launches his TegaSword in the air and lets it come crashing down. Suddenly, Sumino shields Rikuo's blow. She claims that it is not easy to not be with someone who is important to you and it'll be bad for her if he kills Rei as she always wanted to be the one that does that and asks Rikuo to lend her a hand. Thanking her, he accepts. Bellum possesses Rei and Hoeru comes in to hold him back as Sumino and Rikuo use their Finish Fingers to land a blow on Bellum, and each of them taking two of the rings that were possessed by Rei (with Rikuo getting the Magiranger Sentai Ring and reclaiming the Zyuohger Sentai Ring, while Sumino gets the Kyuranger and Zenkaiger Sentai Rings). Undercover Investigation and an Altered Appearance
For some time, Sumino has been doing undercover work and has asked TegaSword to alter her face and voice for the endeavor. Once her investigation was over, she confronts him (specifically his figure displayed) at Tegasword Village to undo the changes only to be met with a note saying that Tegasword is "unavailable and on medical leave" written by Ryugi. Rikuo suggests that Sumino should keep her current appearance since he and the other Gozyugers are already used to it, with Sumino herself accepting her new look.
Personality
Sumino is cool, but she also uses her charm as a weapon when necessary. She originally attended a police academy with aspirations to help others and successfully become a police officer, but after encountering the person responsible for her younger sister going missing, she lost her cool and was ostracized by her colleagues; becoming an outcast. She is now a well-known "high-class detective" in her neighborhood. When not working as a detective, she works part-time jobs for living, she will also spend time for events to make herself become high-class and luxury.

She uses her TegaSword to pull the victim out as she bores through the opponent upon explosion.

TegaSword GozyuUnicorn (テガソードゴジュウユニコーン Tegasōdo GojūYunikōn) is GozyuUnicorn's upgraded form, accessed by inserting the RyoTegaSword Sentai Ring into the RyoTegaSword.[4] In this form, GozyuUnicorn's entire body is clad in the TegaSword Gozyu Armor (テガソードゴジュウアーマー Tegasōdo Gojū Āmā), which contains the will of TegaSword, allowing the former to fight with swordsmanship skills refined to the utmost. Additionally, GozyuUnicorn and TegaSword are fused together as one in this form, allowing them to fight as one and additionally allow the latter to take possession of the former's body.
During battle, TegaSword is able to transform the TegaSword Gozyu Armor into two TegaSword Hands (テガソードハンド Tegasōdo Hando), allowing him to assist TegaSword GozyuUnicorn in blocking attacks or performing multiple techniques simultaneously.

- Zenkai Finish Buster (ゼンカイフィニッシュバスター Zenkai Finisshu Basutā): By inserting the Zenkaiger ring, TegaSword GozyuUnicorn summons an apparition of Zenkaizer as he cranks the handle on the Geartlinger as she copies him, both gathering gear-shaped energy on the end of their weapons as the Zenkaiger symbol appears. GozyuUnicorn then aims the RyoTegaSword like a gun as she and Zenkaizer fires two blasts of rainbow energy and the symbol slams down in the enemy.

- Sumino Ichikawa is portrayed by various actresses:
- From Episode 1 to 36, she was portrayed by Maya Imamori (今森 茉耶 Imamori Maya), who left the role after being terminated from her agency due to illegal underage drinking.
- From episode 37 to 39, the character was voiced by Ayaka Maekawa (前川 綾香 Maekawa Ayaka) in her suited appearances, with scenes featuring Imamori's likeness cut.
- From Episode 40 onwards, she is portrayed by Kohaku Shida (志田 こはく Shida Kohaku), who previously portrayed Haruka Kitou/Oni Sister in Avataro Sentai Donbrothers.[2]
- As GozyuUnicorn, her suit actress is Ayumi Shimozono (下園 愛弓 Shimozono Ayumi), who previously served as suit actress for Oni Sister in Avataro Sentai Donbrothers.

Etymology
- Sumino's given name means "of the horn."
- Sumino's surname Ichikawa means "single river."
- Similar to the other Gozyugers, if the second kanji in Sumino's given and surnames are removed, her name becomes "Ikkaku" (single horn), which is one kanji off from becoming "Unicorn" (一角獣 Ikkakujū, Single-horned Beast).
Notes
- Sumino as GozyuUnicorn is the first main female Black Ranger in a core team, as well as the first Ranger to have a Unicorn motif.
- According to director Ryuta Tasaki, he heard about producers wanting the heroes to aim for being "Number One", hence GozyuUnicorn not wearing the usual "cute pink" color but rather black for a stronger impression. Also, her high-class status would allow her for uniqueness.[6]
