The Stone Triplets were identical golem-based Sporix Beast brothers and the fourteenth, fifteenth, and sixteenth Sporix Beasts to awaken in Power Rangers Dino Fury. The trio served under Void Knight and were the main antagonists of the Season one episode of Dino Fury "Crossed Wires".
History[]
Past[]
Over 65 million years ago, the Stone Triplets and the other Sporix Beasts invaded Rafkon, the home planet of Zayto and Aiyon. Though the two and their fellow Knights of Rafkon fought hard, the Sporix ravaged Rafkon and removed all traces of life from the planet. The Sporix then turned their attention to Earth but the group had managed to escape Rafkon and tracked the Sporix Beasts to Earth where they engaged them in battle with the help of the dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures. Despite the Knights initially having the upper-hand against the Sporix, most of them grew enough in power over time to go giant and force the Knights of Rafkon and their dinosaur allies to retreat. When all seemed lost however, the Morphin Masters arrived and bestowed the Morphin Grid's powers to Zayto and his followers, as the first Ancient Dino Fury Rangers, which gave them the advantage they need to defeat the Sporix Beasts and seal them inside of their eggs.
Dino Fury[]

At some point, the Stone Triplets hatch from their Sporix Eggs and came under the command of Void Knight, who they diligently serve. They are given the objective of using Sleep Bombs to put the entirety of Pine Ridge to sleep so that there is no competition for Void Knight in getting all the Sporix Eggs. The first of the triplets, Stone-Rad, appeared after Ollie deactivated one of the bombs at the chemical plant. He fought against three of the Rangers, but was defeated by the Dino Fury Strike, reverting back into a Sporix Egg and being claimed by Ollie.
The other two brothers, Stone-Sad and Stone-Mad, saw their brother's defeat at Area 62 and mourned him. However, Void Knight riled them up and told them to get revenge by defeating the Rangers in honor of Stone-Rad. They were sent to plant Void Knight's Mega Sleep Bomb at the park and were confronted by the Rangers. After setting the timer, the Stone Sporix Beasts summon the Hengemen for help, but after Ollie got hit by a Sleep Trap, they grew into giants. The Rangers, minus Izzy as she stayed behind to deactivate the Mega Sleep Bomb, formed the T-Rex Blazing Megazord and Mosa Razor Zord Battle Mode to take on the Stone Sporix Beasts. The two Megazords attack the stone Sporix Beasts, launching a Blazing Mega Strike and Harpoon Strike at the two. However, the Stone Sporix Beasts withstood the attacks and combined into a giant version of themselves known as Stone-Snare. One attack from the combined Stone Sporix Beast overwhelms the Megazords, but the Rangers formed the Fusion Ultrazord in response. Despite still being smaller than Stone-Snare, the Ultrazord manages to overpower him before unleashing the Fusion Ultra Strike to defeat him. Although Mucus was able to collect their Sporix Egg forms, Izzy successfully deactivated the Mega Sleep Bomb, foiling Void Knight's plans. TV STORY-Crossed Wires
Stone-Rad will be a member of Wreckmate's crew with Roostafa and Crashflood. He will fight briefly the Rangers and the Rafkonians, then he will search briefly for his two brothers only to be defeated by Aiyon and Zayto. TV STORY-The Invasion
Even though they are not seen again, Stone-Sad and Stone-Mad participate at the invasion of the Sporix during the final battle against the Rangers and the Rafkonians. They are defeated off-screen by the Rafkonians, their Sporix Eggs were used by Void Queen to create the chimera-themed Nemesis Beast and after the Rangers' victory, they are imprisoned forever by Master Red, Blue and Green in a crystal.
Personality[]
Each Stone Triplet brother had a unique personality, but what they had in common was their brotherly love and their will to serve Void Knight in his plans and attack the Rangers.
- Stone-Rad was the jokester of the group who made sleeping jokes and spoke in a hip way.
- Stone-Sad was overly emotional, crying over the death of his brother and hating people who insult him as he loved him a lot. But despite being sensitive, he was willing to get revenge for his fallen brother.
- Stone-Mad was easily the most serious of the three and the leader, possibly the elder brother who wanted revenge for Stone-Rad's defeat.
Powers and Abilities[]
Stone Triplets[]
- Teleportation: The Stone Triplets could teleport to any location at will in a column of purple energy.
- Hengemen Summoning: The Stone Triplets were able to summon Hengemen to fight for them.
- Enlarging: The Stone Triplets were able to enlarge themselves with the energy they gained in battle over time.
- Amalgamation: The two Stone Triplets could merge into one to increase their strength and size.
Abilities[]
- Mega Strength: Being golem-themed Sporix Beasts, the Stone Triplets possessed tremendous degrees of raw strength to battle the Rangers with.
- Rock Body: Also being golem-themed Sporix Beasts, the Stone Triplets' body were made entirely of stone and rock, making them extremely durable as they were able to withstand the Blazing Mega Strike and the Harpoon Strike without a scratch.
- Master Combatants: The Stone Triplets are extremely formidable combatants, being able to nearly overwhelm five out of six Rangers in battle.
Weaknesses[]
- The Stone Triplets appear to have no weaknesses.
Stone-Snare[]
Abilities[]
- Mega Strength: Being a fusion of two of the Stone Triplets as well as due to his large size, Stone-Snare has a far greater deal of strength than the Stone Triplets or any of the previous Sporix Beasts fought by the Rangers. This ability possibly makes him the strongest and most powerful monster of Season 1.
- Rock Body: Much like the Stone Triplets previously, Stone-Snare has rock-like skin that is highly durable and can withstand many attacks from the Fusion Ultrazord.
Weaknesses[]
- Vulnerability to Electricity: Stone-Snare could be harmed by electric attacks, such as the Fusion Ultrazord's Ultra Kick.
- Vulnerability to Fire: Stone-Snare could also be harmed by fire attacks, such as the Fusion Ultrazord's Ultra Barrage.
Arsenal[]
Stone Triplets[]
- Armored Fists: The Stone Triplets had large fists enforced with armored openings for combat.
- Shockwave Punch: The Stone Triplets' fists could release orange shockwaves through their punches, which can cover a wide area and are able to hit multiple enemies at once.
- Mega Sleep Bomb and Remote: The remaining two Stone Triplets used a device that would put all of Pine Ridge in a deep sleep when the timer reaches zero upon activation through a remote.
Stone-Snare[]
- Armored Fists: Much like the Stone Triplets, Stone-Snare had large fists enforced with armored openings for combat.
- Heat Lasers: An enhanced version of the shockwave punches from the Stone Triplets, Stone-Snare was able to fire massive red-orange heat-like energy lasers from the holes on his fists. This was one of his strongest attacks as it has a massive blast radius and was able to do high damage on both the T-Rex Blazing Megazord and Mosa Razor Zord Battle Mode.
Behind the Scenes[]
Portrayal[]
- The Stone Triplets and their combined form were all voiced by Steve McCleary in his first Power Rangers acting role. He previously co-wrote the Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel episode "Outfoxed."
Design[]
- Although not made clear in Power Rangers, the Stone Triplets were all based upon the golem, an animated anthropomorphic being from Jewish folklore that is magically created entirely from inanimate matter.
Etymology[]
- The names of these creatures are likely based on similar characters in the Homestar Runner animated universe: Strong Bad (a cynical and often mischievous luchador), Strong Mad (an ever-angry muscle-head), and Strong Sad (an emotional character with an elephantine build).
- The Stone Triplets were the first Sporix Beasts not to be given an official name as they were never referred to once by their name.
- However on a Twitter feed, the names for each of the Stone Triplets were Stone-Rad (Jokester), Stone-Sad (Emotional), Stone-Mad (Sinister), and Stone-Snare (Combined). These names are also used in the Netflix captions for the episode, but the names of Stone-Rad and Stone-Snare are erroneously switched.
Notes[]
- The Stone Triplets were the first Sporix Beasts to be related to one another and the first to fuse together, with Stone-Sad and Stone-Mad doing so to become even bigger and stronger. It is unknown if Stone-Rad could also fuse with his brothers, as he was defeated at normal size.
- Because of Stone-Snare's gigantic size and power level, as well as being the only monster in the first season of Power Rangers Dino Fury to be fought by an Ultrazord (in his case, the Fusion Ultrazord). He’s possibly the strongest monster in the first season of Power Rangers Dino Fury.
- Stone-Snare is similar to the Craterite Conglomerate from Power Rangers In Space and the Wolfblade Conglomerate from Power Rangers Ninja Storm as they are both large monsters formed from other monsters, though unlike them, Stone Snare is a combined form of two larger monsters, as opposed to an army or trio of regular-sized monsters.
- Stone-Rad was the second Sporix Beast in Power Rangers Dino Fury not to grow giant, with the first being Tidemare, and the only one out of the Stone Triplets to be captured by the Rangers as Void Knight has his brothers' Sporix Cells.
- Stone-Snare is the first monster of Power Rangers Dino Fury to be faced by the Fusion Ultrazord, is the very first monster to be fought by an Ultrazord in the Power Rangers Dino Fury series and is the only Season 1 monster to be fought by an Ultrazord.
- The Stone Triplets were similar to Heximas' Kyouryuger counterpart Debo Yanasanta, where they were multiple identical monsters and had a combined form, albeit five instead of three.
