Stitched Up is the fifth episode of Power Rangers Dino Fury season 2, and the twenty-seventh episode overall. It marks the debut of Santaura and reveals the true identity of Void Knight while also hinting at their past.

Synopsis

Fern asks Izzy to the prom and Izzy’s mom offers to make them prom outfits. But when Izzy presumes her mom wants her to wear a dress, she makes a rash decision that she’ll soon regret.

Plot

Picking up where the last episode ended, Santaura awakens from her deep sleep thanks to Void Knight finally having enough Sporix Cells to power the machine. Slyther tries to hear what is going on but finds he cannot. In the room, an unarmored Void Knights gives Santaura something to drink so her energy can come back, as she feels weak from her deep sleep. Void Knight is glad that Santaura is awake again and reveals that their ship is almost ready. Once it is fixed, they can leave Earth. However, Santaura feels a bit triggered that they are on Earth.

Izzy and Fern are talking and walking through a neighborhood and they talk about a show called Kung-Fugitive that stars Steel Silva. Fern asks Izzy that would she be her date to prom next week. Izzy replies that she beat her to it. Izzy was about to ask Fern until Izzy mum shows up and says yes. Izzy's mom is proud. Izzy's mom is a designer and wants to design their outfit. Izzy doesn't want a dress. Izzy's mom invites them to go to the store. Fern says that they have homework, she leaves and they laughs.

Back at Area 62, two Hengemen clean out the trash as Slyther cannot hear anything from through the door, making Wreckmate wonder what the purpose of the machine was for. Suddenly, a Sporix Cell flies out of the machine and hatches into Junkalo. His terrible breath puts off everyone in the room as Junkalo eats all the garbage the Hengemen collected. A now armored Void Knight exits his room to see what is going on, and Junkalo throws up metal from the garbage he ate. This intrigues Void Knight as he asks Junkalo for help on a special project. Over the previous battles against the Rangers, Void Knight has recorded the Zords they fought against and plans to use the data on his newest invention: the Zord Jammer. Void Knight enlists Junkalo’s help in making the parts he needs to make the Jammer.

At BuzzBlast, Amelia shows everyone her new show called Mystery Buzz as Javi comes in holding a suit bag for Izzy. When Izzy opens it, it turns out to be a violet dress, upsetting her as she asked her mom not to give her a dress. Despite acknowledging her mother as a great designer, Izzy said she hated being her model growing up and is angry that her mom does not get her dislikes after all these years. Izzy throws the dress in the trash as a garbageman comes in to collect the garbage. Afterwards, Solon contacts Zayto about a Sporix Beast sighting at the dump.

The Rangers head to the dump to see Mucus and Junkalo, the latter eating trash and regurgitating metal. The Rangers morph as Mucus calls for the Hengemen. As the Rangers fight against the Hengemen, Mucus finds a gas mask and tells Junkalo to continue eating garbage for metal. Zayto tries to stop Junkalo with the Sprint Dino Key, but his stinky breath stuns the Rangers (minus Mucus, who used the gas mask to protect herself). Javi uses the Blazing Battle Armor to strike at Junkalo, but the gas neutralizes the attack. Junkalo and Mucus retreat as the Rangers demorph, trying to figure out why the two were at the dump in the first place.

Izzy gets a text from Fern and sees her holding a tuxedo that her mom made. It turns out the tuxedo was for Izzy, and Mrs. Garcia accidentally gave Fern the wrong outfit. This makes Izzy guilty as it meant her mom did listen to her complaints, and she threw Fern’s dress in the garbage. Javi finds the trashman that collected the BuzzBlast trash hours ago, and he points the group to the pile he dumped it at. After some searching, Javi finds the dress, but it is ruined. Izzy fears what her mom will say about the dress, but Javi convinces her to tell their mom as she can be calmer than their dad. At the same time, the other Rangers return to Dinohenge to find Junkalo.

At Area 62, Void Knight is impressed with the parts Junkalo created, saying it was enough to build his Zord Jammer. As Slyther begins assembling the Zord Jammer, Mucus comes in with a giant toothbrush to get rid of Junkalo’s bad breath. However, that results in Junkalo eating Mucus. Back in the room, Santaura listens to the conversation through video as Void Knight continues his explanation. The only Zord left to scan was the Pacha Smash Zords, and Void Knight orders Junkalo to lure them out so he could scan their location signals. As Void Knight and Junkalo leave, Santaura asks what her lover is doing, referring to him as Tarrick.

Izzy returns home and tells her mom what happened, including how she accidentally trashed Fern’s dress. While upset to see her dress ruined, Mrs. Garcia admits that she understands why Izzy did it. It took her a while to come around to Izzy’s interests, but now Mrs. Garcia says she is a lucky mom for her daughter’s growth. Mrs. Garcia thinks she could make a new dress and asks Izzy to help her. Izzy accepts it.

Meanwhile, Tarrick sets up the scanner as Junkalo pukes up Mucus as she did not agree with his stomach. With the scanner set up, Tarrick orders Junkalo to fight the Rangers, including growing and forcing them to summon the Pacha Smash Zords. Junkalo’s presence is alerted to the Ranger’s pollution sensors, but two locations are brought up on the map: one at the Zord cliffs and one at the industrial area. Zayto has the team split up into two groups, and Javi contacts Izzy to join him and Aiyon.

Javi’s group finds Tarrick and his scanner, forcing the latter to attack them so they do not interfere with his plans. Tarrick stops Aiyon from firing at the scanner as the Garcia siblings corner the knight. In the industrial area, Junkalo grows as Zayto’s group summons the Zords, forming the Dino Fury Megazord Blade Formation. Using the Elasto Dino Key, they tie up Junkalo, but the latter breaks free and unleashes a noxious blast. Zayto summons the Pacha Smash Zords, unaware that doing so recorded the data Tarrick needed. Javi tries using the Blazing Dino Armor to overwhelm Tarrick, but the latter retreats as he got what he needed.

Zayto’s group forms the Dino Fury Megazord Smash Formation back in the city, and Javi’s group joins them in the cockpit. They fare better against Junkalo and defeat him with the Pacha Mega Smash. Junkalo reverts to his Sporix Cell form, and Izzy claims it for the Rangers. In Area 62, Tarrick returns to Santaura and sees she has recovered since the last time he saw her. Santaura notices how much has changed since her deep sleep and how Tarrick commands the Sporix Beasts. Tarrick says his Zord Jammer is nearly complete, though Santaura asks why not use the full power of the Sporix Beasts to get revenge on the humans; saying that they took something from them years ago. Despite remembering what happened, Tarrick says he does not want revenge on the humans; he only wants to leave Earth with Santaura. Tarrick promises Santaura that once his Zord Jammer is complete, they can leave Earth with nothing to stop them.

Carlos, hides a camera in a plant. Izzy and Fern come out in their outfits, and they hold hands. Fern tells Rina that she loves her dress. Rina says that she couldn't have done it without Izzy. Carlos wants to take photos. Izzy agrees. They take pictures. Javi appears in a limo. Izzy is shocked. He opens the Limo to reveal their friends and they say "Surprise". Aiyon says the snacks are free. Carlos does one more photo saying "best dad ever".
