Sponge Grumer (スポンジグルマー Suponji Gurumā) is a sponge-themed Kurumaju from the Great Space Invasion Running Team Hashiriyan.
History
At the Sanseaters base, Risk introduces himself as the Hashiriyan HQ Consiglieri (Second in Command) and declared that the Sanseaters are under his command onwards, and ordered them to continuing the Invasion as he gives them an Ignition Key and a Scrubbing Sponge, prompting Itasha to create Sponge Grumer offscreen.
Later, Sponge Grumer is shown attacking several civilians by covering them with his slippery suds. As many Ghassolin are harvested, the Sanseaters are shown monitoring the act directly while Decotrade scrubs Yaiyai with a normal sponge. Jyo Akuse is the first one to notice the invasion and about to transform into Bun Black, had Sponge didn't cover the poor officer with his suds. Jyo glides away only to be caught by Ishiro, while Sakito uses his speed to rid the civilians from the slippery suds. As Mira and Taiya caught on, Mira asked Ishiro about his mission, only for the latter to proclaim that he's a Boonboomger, first and foremost. After Ishiro and Taiya exchange a meaningful glance (Ishiro is yet to procure vital informations about ISA), The five Boomboomgers transformed to combat the Grumer.
Later at an abandoned Car Graveyard, Sponge troublesome suds are shown covering most of Boonboomger weaponry, to the point of them unable to handle them properly. Genba then appeared to help them by offering them some chains to keep their handling steady, only for Sponge to cover them with suds too. The sudden attack left Genba clumsy and vulnerable, prompting Bun Blue to cover for the Procurer as Sponge dashed to him. Sponge then covered Bun Blue with his suds before he body slammed the ranger with his body. As the suds subside, Bun Blue is nowhere to be seen,with only the suds covered Ranger Suit left, much to Bun Pink, Black, and Violet's Horror. Bun Red immediately deduces that Sponge Grumer could absorb someone inside of him, prompting Genba to transform into Bun Orange.
However, Sponge is quick to act as he body slammed Bun Orange, Pink, Black, and Violet in the same manner as Bun Blue, leaving Bun Red alone. To make matters worst, Grantu Risk appeared and immediately attacked the mortified Bun Red, canceling his transformation. Risk praises Sponge for eliminating the risk altogether, allowing his plan to go smoothly. As Taiya asked Risk about his plan, Risk notices that all other Boonboomger member are gone before Waruido's Limo appeared before him. Predictably, Waruido himself finally appeared before Taiya as Risk introduces his boss. The revelation touched Sanseaters to the point of them fainting as they hide, while Bundorio start shaking in fear at the base. A mortified Shirabe looked in disbelief while exclaiming that the radar didn't pick anything about this, only for Byun Dy to bitterly deduces that someone in ISA must have arranged for Waruido's arrival in discreet.
As Taiya and Waruido meets face to face, Waruido first sarcastically thanked Taiya for looking after Bundorio. Taiya then asked about Waruido's reason for his arrival, only for the Hashiriyan leader to proclaim that Earth is a nice place to gather lots of fine Ghassolin due to War, Poverty, and other misfortunes happening daily. Taiya immediately realized that Waruido is in fact another enemy to mankind, prompting Waruido to proclaim Taiya as a Naive person, before exclaiming that he know about Boonboomgers and Bundorio desire to join Big Bang Grandprix. In turn, this deeply shocked Taiya and people at the base, with Shirabe finally find out about the true mole of Hashiriyan, which is none other than Eichiro Tokoyari himself.
Waruido proceed to rub more salt into the wounds by stating that he's now running the whole thing. He disclosed the reason is simply to gather even more Ghassolin from the screams of the winner and losers alike. In cold rage, Taiya realizes that within the current BBG, the winners are fixed by the Hashiriyan, which Waruido confirmed. Waruido finally taunted Taiya by exclaiming that he'll destroy everything that Bundorio held dear, and that he already brought the Boonboomgers dream by purchasing the whole BBG for his own, twisted amusement. Hearing enough, Taiya finally gone livid and proclaimed that Waruido had no right to laugh at their dream. Taiya is about to transform again into Bun Red, only for Risk to destroy the latter Boonboom Changer with his attack.
Seeing Taiya beaten down by Risk while Waruido leisurely took his leave, Bundorio entered a severe panic state as he produce a new Boonboom Changer, attempting to deliver it himself. While Byun Diesel now desperately hold Bundorio in since he know that Waruido's ultimate target is Bundorio himself, Shirabe decides to took the changer and deliver it to Taiya herself, much to Bundorio's worry. Risk later took his leave after ordering Sponge to extract Ghassolin from the battered Taiya. However, Boonboom Wagon suddenly appeared from the Highway Dimension, and use its attack mode to brutally squeezes the Grumer. The Driver is shown to be Shirabe, who manages to successfully freed the other Boonboomgers despite the damage she took from not possessing Boonboom Suits.
As the five captured Boonboomgers are now outside only with their helmets, Shirabe painstakingly delivers the spare Boonboom Changer to Taiya before passing out. Taiya solemnly thanked Shirabe for her dedication and become Cranked-Up, with Sakito promptly took Shirabe to safety so that the Core Boonboomgers could defeat Sponge with ease. Predictably, they did just that after transforming into Champion Boonboomger, and Bun Red delivered the Bakuage Champion Drive to finish the normal sized Sponge Grumer. Even after Yaiyai enlarges the Grumer with Highway Beam, the baleful grumer is once again taken out easily after Champion Boonboomger uses Boonboomger Robo Champion Leo Rescue Custom to counter the suds.
