Space.47: The Saviors' Promise (救世主たちの約束 Kyūseishu-tachi no Yakusoku) is the forty-seventh and penultimate episode of Uchu Sentai Kyuranger. It also the fourth of the five-episode endgame arc. It features the apparent deaths and revivals of the Kyurangers except Lucky including Shou Ronpo and the debut of Don Armage's Final form.
Synopsis[]
The Kyurangers were able to foil Don Armage’s plans and put an end to Quervo’s reign. However, Don Armage suddenly possesses his true target… Tsurugi Otori! By possessing his body, Don Armage now has the power of Houou’s immortality and the power of the Dark Planetium! Don Armage’s desire was to rule the universe using this unlimited amount of power! Tsurugi had predicted this before and asked the Kyurangers to destroy Don Armage. The Kyurangers, however, won’t abandon their friend. A new Don Armage has been born, and kills Shou Ronpo! Lucky wonders if he really made the right decision. Lucky seeks advice from his friends. If they are willing to fight with him to the end, they will meet him on the bridge tomorrow morning. The Kyurangers spend the night before the final battle incredibly indecisive, and with anger, fear, sorrow, and loss in their hearts…
Plot[]
The revived Don Armage uses Planetium from the Earth to recharge the Houou Kyutama and return his body to full strength. As he attacks the Kyurangers, Shou Ronpo intercepts the attack, telling the others to fight on and calling this death an unusually cool thing for him to do.
Aboard the Battle Orion Ship, the Kyurangers realize that just like Shou, everyone in the universe could be absorbed. Raptor calculates that Don Armage will be done recharging Tsurugi's body in 99 hours. Lucky announces that he has a plan, but that it will require every reminaing Kyuranger to risk their lives; he gives everyone the night to consider if they'll do it.
The Kyurangers split into various groups to talk. In one corner, Hammie tells Garu she's mad at Lucky not because he wants her to risk her life, but because he doesn't realize that she trusts him after all this time to the point that she'd never say no. The reflect on how they both hated Lucky to start but would now follow him to the end.
In another corner, Naga asks Balance about the fear he now feels. Balance reassures him that it's a good feeling that means he has something to lose, but that he won't. On the bridge, Raptor and Spada grieve for Shou. In a third corner, Stinger and Champ reflect on their connections to Scorpio and Doctor Anton. Kotaro asks if he'd become stronger through their travels. Stinger replies that Kotaro was now the strongest Earthling and in time would surpass Tsurugi. The three sing the song of the Antares tribe.
The next morning, every Kyuranger volunteers to follow Lucky's plan. Lucky briefs them before they all land on earth to stand in front of Don Armage's army, with a promise to meet where he is. They all transform and eventually split off. Kotaro, Stinger, and Champ face an army of Cow-Type All-Purpose Weapon Zero; Spada and Raptor confront and army of mecha Moraimars in Orion Battler and Kajiki Voyager; Naga and Balance face an army of Indabee; and Garu, Hammie, and Lucky press forward.
Each group is able to stand their ground for at least a day. As a new wave of Indavers ambush the advance force, Garu takes a hit aimed at Lucky, forcing him out of transformation. Hammie and Lucky press forward while Garu is shot to the point of destruction. One by one, the other groups are forced out of transformation, with the Kajiki Voyager destroyed and Raptor and Spada forced to the ground before a wave of Indavers swarm them too.
Lucky and Hammie, also in civilian form, reach Don Armage just as he finishes absorbing the Planetium needed to restore Tsurugi's body. The two transform, this time with Lucky using the Saiko Kyutama. Don Armage claims that Tsurugi has accepted him in order to restore his dying body and truly become a legend. Hammie rejects that, saying that the Tsurugi she remembers was willing to lay down his life to save the galaxy. He uses the Chameleon Impact to attack Don Armage, to which the Houou Kyutama inside him reacts. Lucky theorizes that Tsurugi is still fighting inside him. Don Armage says he can believe what he likes as he fires a blast at Hammie, knocking her out of transformation and to the ground.
Don Armage then absorbs every Kyuranger and their Kyutamas except Lucky. In the ensuing fight, a powerful blast shatters the Saiko Kyutama and forces Lucky out of transformation. As Lucky gets up, he declares how Tsurugi went from a man Lucky hated to someone whom Lucky knew would never let himself die as the host of Don Armage.
Lucky charges at Don Armage, calling on Tsurugi to lend him his strength. As Don Armage is about to land the final blow, he freezes, his body glowing red with Tsurugi's energy. Lucky grabs his Shishi Kyutama and forces it in, unifying all twelve Kyurangers' Kyutama inside Don Armage. The eleven absorbed Kyurangers strike from within his body while Lucky slashes his chest with the Kyu Sword, forcing everyone out and reverting Don Armage to his base form.
Lucky explains to Don Armage that when he saw Shou and his Kyutama get absorbed, he believed that the Kyutama would retain their power even inside Don Armage. He therefore convinced everyone to bet on this plan, throw the fight against Jark Matter, and have their Kyutama as well as themselves absorbed. Tsurugi praises them and thanks Don Armage for charging his body with Planetium in the process. Enraged, Don Armage absorbs everyone else in the universe and declares that he is now the galaxy itself. The Kyurangers reject this and charge Don Armage, pushing the Mawaslides on their Kyutamas to transform as they run.
