Sonoya (ソノヤ) was the eighth member of the Noto and one of the two final antagonists in Avataro Sentai Donbrothers. He is one of the Noto executioners alongside Sonona.
History
Sonoya was sent by the Noto Council, alongside Sonona, to kill the Noto generals for being human sympathizers, and the inspectors for having failed their duties. Sonoya personally hunted down and slayed Sonoroku, taking his power for himself as a result. He and Sonona then went after and dispatched Sonoshi before coming to the Donbrothers.
As Sonoya and Sonona were overpowering the Donbrothers, Taro appeared on the battlefield to even out the odds. With Taro's leadership, the two were soundly defeated and destroyed.

Behind the Scenes
Portrayal
Sonoya is portrayed by Kohei Murakami (村上 幸平 Murakami Kōhei), who previously portrayed Bud/Zyuoh Bird in Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger and Masato Kusaka
in Kamen Rider 555
.
Design
- Transformed Sonoya is an homage to Choukou Senshi Changerion, which was produced by Toei.
Etymology
- As with all named Noto, Sonoya is part of an increasing number naming scheme, with his name being a derivative of "part eight" (その8 Sono Hachi), with the numeral being pronounced in its compound Kun'yomi form of "ya".
Notes
- Due to him stealing Sonoroku's powers, Transformed Sonoya reuses the suit from Transformed Sonoroku.
- Alongside Sonona, he has the shortest number of appearances as a Noto, only appearing in 2 episodes.
Sonona's original design (Right)
- As revealed by monster designer Tamotsu Shinohara, Soyona and Sonona were originally going to have original Transformed forms, and would've been joined by a third Executioner named Sonoku if not for budgetary issues. Sonoya's planned Transformed form was navy blue, and was based on the 1964 Manga Ninja Hattori-Kun.[1]
