Sogizarai (ソギザライ, Sogizarai) is an Ayakashi that is able to spin around with destructive force.

History

Sogizarai was summoned by Shitari during his rivalry with Akumaro to "give the Shinkengers an amusing match for the Shinkengers." He is initially defeated by Super Shinken Yellow, and then destroyed by SamuraiHaOh's Mojikara Great Shot Circle in his second life. He complained about not being able to spin around with destructive force anymore before being torn apart.

According to folklore, the yama-oroshi (山颪, yama-oroshi) is a porcupine-like yokai with a head that resembles a grater. Sogizarai's spiny appearance and ability to shatter anything is thought to be origin of this legend.

Powers

• Human World Travel: Sogizarai and other residents of Sanzu River can travel themselves into human world via narrow hole gaps.
• Second Life: Sogizarai and most Ayakashi possessed a second life that granted them the chance to live again as a giant upon being defeated by Shinkengers.

Abilities

• Spinning Attack: Sogizarai's main ability is to spin around at high speed with destructive force, which is able to tear apart buildings and overwhelm the Shinkengers with ease.
• Flight: Sogizarai is capable of flight while spinning at high speed.

Weaknessess

• Human World: Like other residents of Sanzu River, Sogizarai cannot stay on human world for prolonged amount of time and must return to Sanzu River to rehydrate himself.

• Sogizarai is voiced by Mitsuo Iwata (岩田 光央, Iwata Mitsuo) in his very first Super Sentai role.
