Showa No.1 (昭和ノーワン Shōwa Nō Wan) is a Showa era-themed No.1 Monster from the No One World Bridan, created from an unnamed Bento Store Regular, out of his desire to experience Showa retro.
History
The man happily walks away with his meal when he suddenly hears a No One monster asking him if he wants to return to the Showa Era before possessing him off-screen. Later, Showa No.1 appears in the town and startling Kinjiro and Sumino. Showa No.1 states his intentions of teaching the people of the Reiwa era how great the Showa era is, and then uses his powers to transform the city into an old-fashioned Showa town. Everyone is surprised, especially Sumino who finds her smartphone turned into an old telephone.
Sumino is amazed at the now Showa-looking town and wants to take pictures, but is unable to because of her phone being transformed. She asks Showa No.1 to change it back, but he tells her that back in the Showa era, people interacted with each other, which is something that Reiwa people need to learn to do more. She asks him what a No One Monster even knows about the Showa era, but Showa No.1 flips a table, scaring her. Kinjiro then confronts the No One and claims that no one will beat him in a Showa battle, beginning a Number One Battle between the two.
Showa No.1 demonstrates his knowledge by stealing children's playing cards, claiming that they don't play them Showa-style, and then by studying English through a cassette while napping, something that confuses Sumino. Kinjiro then decides to work out with the help of instructions on the back of a Manga, and then starts a dance party with Sumino. Despite his efforts, Showa No.1 is announced as the winner of the battle. To prove his point, he asks Kinjiro how he dials a phone, and Kinjiro imitates calling someone on a smartphone instead of an old telephone. Showa No.1 says that Kinjiro's desire to become young again and experience the Reiwa era has made him forget the Showa era, calling him a stray who doesn't belong in either era before walking away.
On the next day, Showa No.1 is watching Kaiketsu Zubat
on a TV while eating Noriben. Kinjiro and Sumino appear for a rematch of the Showa battle. Showa No.1 says it's useless, but Sumino takes a picture of him, which is suddenly edited to show him alongside Zubat. Showa No.1's amazement is further amplified when Sumino shows him some pieces of Zubat merchandise that were created in the Reiwa era. Kinjiro then demonstrates him how he orders Noriben through a delivery app, and a deliveryman appears with various kinds of Noriben to please Showa No.1. Kinjiro tells Showa No.1 that in the Reiwa Era, you can still experience the Showa Era like never before. He decides to show him how great the Showa and Reiwa era can be when combined before he and Sumino, a Showa man and a Reiwa girl, transform to fight the No.1 Monster.
Kinjiro and Sumino begin fighting Showa No.1, who says that he still prefers the inconvenience of the Showa era regardless of their attempts to change his mind. Sumino then tells him that the people who lived in the Showa era didn't think it was inconvenient at all. Kinjiro adds that the people of the Showa era were looking forward to make a better future, telling the No One that he's lacking in Showa spirit if he's refusing to also look forward. He and Sumino then rescue Showa No.1's victim before destroying him.
