This version of Shinichi Saruhara (猿原 真一 Saruhara Shin'ichi) is Saru Brother (サルブラザー Saru Burazā) (also known as Future Saru Brother (未来のサルブラザー Mirai no Saru Burazā) in official material[1]), the Blue Ranger of the Donbrothers. He travels to the past to help his main counterpart.
History[]
In a distant future of an alternate world, Shinichi was in a relationship with his world's version of Haruka. Shinichi stayed behind as Haruka took a vacation with her Kibi-Points into the past so as to relive her prime days as a successful manga artist. On the day that Haruka's vacation time ran out, Shinichi arrived to pick her up, encountering his past self along with the other Donbrothers sans Tsubasa and past Haruka. He ordered a drink which was new to the cafe, explaining his arrival to the team.
After Haruka and her future self had arrived, they explained about the arrival of Don Murasame from the future. Future Shinichi agreed to help the team to fight the future Don Murasame, while also allowing future Haruka to finish up the last chapter of Real First Love Hero before they depart. Before going to the battlefield, he paid for the drink, surprising prime Shinichi.
During the battle, he was pretty angry against Sonoza for being harsh with Haruka in the future while teaming up with his past self. After future Haruka had finished her manga with the help of present Haruka, they arrived and made a quick work of the fight. Future Haruka and future Shinichi teamed up and showed how powerful they had become.
After the destruction of Future Don Murasame by the hand of his present counterpart, both Shinichi and his Haruka returned to their own time. Before they left, his past counterpart gave him traditional writing tools for his tanka because he was distracted with the fact that his future self was no longer doing it in a traditional way.
Personality[]
Shinichi bears the same wisdom of his past self, except that he is more open to the world's ideas. As a result, he is physically able to handle money, and ends up living a lavish lifestyle, being rich and dressing up in luxurious clothing, much to the surprise of his past self. This version of Shinichi is also slightly more soft-spoken, and prefers using technology, in contrast with his prime self's more traditional sense and methods.
In comparison with prime Shinichi's interest in haiku, this Shinichi dabbles in tanka instead.

- Like the original, this version of Shinichi Saruhara is portrayed by Yuuki Beppu (別府 由来 Beppu Yūki). As Future Saru Brother, his suit actor is Masato Tsutamune (蔦宗 正人 Tsutamune Masato).
Design[]
- Saru Brother features a fur-like material on the suit's sleeves, akin to Ookami Blue, while the primate-style proportions and helmet details are similar to that of Zyuoh Gorilla. Like the other Donbrothers, his visor is styled after sunglasses.
- Saru Brother is the only male member of the team that does not have a coattail set on his suit (Oni Sister, as the sole female, features a skirt in lieu of coattails).
