Shieldon (シールドン Shīrudon) is one of Space Empire Zangyack's Action Commanders whose forearms can interlock to form Thick Face Shield (厚顔シールド Kōgan Shīrudo), giving him the greatest defense ability among the Zangyack forces.
History[]
Gokaiger[]
Shieldon was tasked by Damaras in hopes of ending the threat of the space pirates to the Zangyack's plans following Basco's attack. Doc intends to create a new more powerful weapon when Shieldon and his forces interupt his demonstration of it. Because of his shield, he managed to withstand the Final Wave Gokai Slash, J.A.K.Q.'s Big Bomber and Dynaman's New Super Dynamite. Gokai Green uses the double barreled Gokai Gun invention, but not only does it not work either, it blows up. The Gokaigers have no choice but to retreat using the Kakuranger powers.
Knowing how strong the Action Commander's shield is, Doc decides to fine tune the double-barreled weapon, eventually getting a eureka idea of harnessing the Greater Power of the Ohrangers to complete it. Shieldon attacks the GokaiGalleon before it is complete, so the other Gokaigers sans Gai (whose arm is currently broken because of Basco) go to buy him some time. Shieldon withstands the Gekirangers' Fierce Ki Infusion, the Changemen's signature attacks, and Red Mask's God Hand attack before Doc arrives with the completed weapon, christening it the GokaiGalleon Buster. With it they are able to destroy his Thick Face Shield with the Red Charged Rising Strike, taking him down as well.
After the Gigant Horse enlarges the Action Commander, the shield doesn't grow back. Luckily, Shieldon could use his lightning attacks against Hurricane GokaiOh, until Gokai Silver attacks with GoZyuJin in spite of his injured arm. This allows Shieldon to be completely destroyed with the Gokai Fūrai Attack.
Kamen Rider × Super Sentai: Super Hero Taisen[]
He was revived in Super Hero Taisen. He did not really make an appearance in the final battle, but he can be seen with few other Zangyack commanders attacking Amanogawa High
.
Personality[]
- Shieldon was originally an alien with steel-like scales that could repel physical damage. Insarn equipped him with the Thick Face Shield.
- He was in charge of "Operation Space Pirate Elimination" (宇宙海賊掃討作戦 Uchū Kaizoku Sōtō Sakusen).

- Shieldon is voiced by Takashi Nagasako (長嶝 高士 Nagasako Takashi).
Design[]
- His design is based on a coconut crab.
- According to Shieldon's designer, Yasushi Nirasawa, Shieldon's head is intended to resemble Marilyn Manson.

Etymology[]
- Shieldon's name is a portmanteau of the English word "shield" and the Japanese onomatopoeic "don", which describes a crashing sound, akin to attacks hitting Shieldon's shields.

- Much like Bowser, Shieldon's name is coincidentally the same as the English name of the Pokémon Shieldon, which is known as "Tatetops" to Japanese audiences.
