This article is about a giant monster in Mashin Sentai Kiramager. |
Shield Shellga (シールドシェルガ Shīrudo Sheruga) was a shield/tiki-themed Shellga Type Jamen Beast of the Dark Empire Yodonheim. It was one of the three released by the invasion gate created from the dark energy gathered by Nazokake Jamen.
History[]
Tank Ligany, Shield Shellga, and Sengoku Basra are all created by Carantula to defend the Yodon Ivy Seed until it matures enough to turn the Earth into an uninhabitable (for humans) wasteland. Shield Shellga arrives through the invasion gate in Sector R-15 shortly after the death of the Nazokake Jamen when Galza confronts Mashin Oradin and Yodonna orders the attack. TV STORY-Episode 32: There's Something About Sayo
The Jamen Beasts begin demolishing the city together which forces the Kiramagers to split up to cover more ground. Whilst Juru and Tametomo fight an army of Bechats on the ground, Kiramaizin, GigantDriller and King Express Zabyun (piloted by the remaining four Kiramagers) confront the Jamen Beasts. Kiramaizin takes on Shield Shellga but it shrugs off a powerful double slash to the face from the Jetter Sword and blasts it back. After Tank Ligany accidentally obliterates some Bechats, Shield Shellga fires more eye beams but Kiramaizin is ready this time and counters it with the Mach Beam which knocks it back. As Tametomo and Juru confront Yodonna who holds Sayo hostage, the Jamen Beasts are finally knocked back but team up in a train formation which wipes out all three Giant Robos. The tables turn however when Grateful Phoenix (Mashin Hakobu now free from Galza's control because of Mashin Oradin's help) rips the Yodon Ivy Seed out of the building it is being kept in and flies off with it. Now joined by Galza in Smog Jouki, as the Kiramagers become the Go Kiramagers and enter their Mashins, the assembled heroes and villains do battle but Smog Jouki soon knocks the Yodon Ivy Seed loose from Grateful Phoenix.
Kiramaizin takes it but Shield Shellga do chase and Kiramaizin has to pass it off to the flying Grateful Phoenix when Sengoku Basra strikes it in the back. When Smog Jouki tackles Grateful Phoenix and the Yodon Ivy Seed out of the sky, it is passed to King Express Zabyun but Tank Ligany blasts it with enough force to make it drop the Yodon Ivy Seed and it passes to Sengoku Basra. Once the Seed starts to bud, the Jamen Beasts now adopt their train formation again but Tametomo realizes that they use a rock-paper-scissors formation and thus they can counter it. First up comes Shield Shellga who they defeat with a devastating double energy slash from King Express Zabyun. Smog Jouki soon summons them back to their feet to defend the Yodon Ivy Seed but Grateful Phoenix rushes into the sky and charges up the Grateful Prominence attack with solar energy. Flying back down, the formation cleaves all three Jamen Beasts in half with the attack and they fall on their backs and explode. With the Jamen Beasts gone, the Kiramagers easily destroy the Yodon Ivy Seed with the Grateful Go Arrow and force Galza to retreat. TV STORY-Episode 33: Giant Panic, Big Clash!
Personality[]
Shield Shellga was a violent and brutally efficient Jamen Beast who spoke only in roars and growls. It was clearly a team player since it happily and effortlessly teamed up with the Tank Ligany and Sengoku Basra as well as Smog Jouki to try and defend the Yodon Ivy Seed. It also had a habit of laughing constantly (which is unusual for a Jamen Beast).
Powers and Abilities[]
Powers[]
- Laser Vision: Shield Shellga could project powerful red laser beams from its Jamen's eyes. These caused large explosions and devastation in the city and clearly packed some punch as a continuous stream pushed back Kiramaizin.
- Train Formation: When Tank Ligany, Sengoku Basra, and Shield Shellga worked together, they could get in a line together to form an inseparable train-like conga line.
- Reflection: While in train mode, Shield Shellga was able to reflect Kiramaizin and the other two Giant Robos' massive combined beam using its Jamen when they tried to fire at the Jamen Beasts.
- Triple Attack: When in train mode, Tank Ligany, Sengoku Basra, and Shield Shellga could perform a devastating triple attack. The attack had Shield Shellga deflect the attacks of the opponents before Tank Ligany blasted it with its tank gun and Sengoku Basra charged forth and double slashed them all.
Abilities[]
- Durability: Shield Shellga was highly durable with its natural shell and additional protection from its Jamen to the point that two slashes from the Jetter Sword only elicited a laugh from it.
Weaknesses[]
- Vulnerability to Slashes: Since Shield Shellga is treated as wood, a barrage of energy slashes from King Express Zabyun could penetrate its defenses.
Arsenal[]
- Fists: Although it lacked weapons, Shield Shellga can use its fists to smack its opponents.
