- ―Shadow Serpent's final words before his destruction.[src]
Shadow Serpent was a snail/serpent-themed Toxic Mutant who served as the main antagonist of the episode "Man and Machine".
History[]
The Shadow Serpent is first seen in a beach-like wasteland and is hired by the Toxic Beasts and Vrak to deal with Robo Knight and the Mega Rangers.
He first takes the shadows from a construction worker and a hot dog maker and finally the shadows of a young boy's parents.
He confronts Robo Knight and the two fought until the Mega Rangers came in. The Shadow Serpent was a formidable opponent and he easily took out the Rangers with ease. The sun was setting and as such, he was forced to retreat since his powers would soon be useless.
After a conversation with Bigs, Bluefur, and Vrak at his place, Shadow Serpent realizes that the Rangers are clever so he will outsmart them.
The next day, Shadow Serpent comes by a train bridge and is about to take the shadows of the train and a whole crowd of people but the Mega Rangers use their Mega Blasters to blast his tongue away. They are outmatched but Robo Knight returns to take on this monster, so they attempt to block off the sun by creating a large cloud, but Shadow Serpent easily takes it out with an energy blast. Robo Knight attempts to take on Shadow Serpent himself but he is quickly outmatched so the Rangers come in to aid him but the same thing happens to them as well. They attempt to use the Megaforce Blaster's Dynamic Victory Charge on him but he easily blocks it. The Rangers then go head on but that proves to be a huge mistake as Shadow Serpent manages to take their shadows which is revealed to be a trick for Robo Knight to get a clear hit on Shadow Serpent and give the Rangers back their shadows. With Shadow Serpent weakened, Robo Knight is easily able to outmatch Shadow Serpent and he finally defeats him with the Vulcan Cannon's Knight Dynamic. However, Shadow Serpent survives and calls for Vrak to aid him.
Thw Shadow Serpent is then enlarged by the Zombats so Robo Knight transforms into the Lion Mechazord to form the Gosei Grand Megazord and the Rangers unleash the Gosei Great Megazord. They do battle with Shadow Serpent and have the upper hand at first but the mutant bashes back the Megazords and takes them out with an extremely powerful fireball, dispatching them back into their Zord forms. However, the Zords are able to fight back and the Rangers receive a card that lets the all eight of the Zords combine into a new Megazord: the Gosei Great Grand Megazord. As much as he tries, Shadow Serpent is no match and was beaten down by the Gosei Great Grand Megazord's Land Lance Attack, stunned by the Sea Spike Attack, and finally tortured by the Sky Spear Attack. Shadow Serpent isn't finished yet and claims that he will never be defeated as long as the sun shines but is summarily obliterated by the Victory Charge Dual Strike.
Personality[]
A formidable warrior, the Shadow Serpent was cunning in battle and a glutton for shadows. However, his overconfidence proved to be his undoing as the teamwork between his enemies allowed them to overcome him. He was compared by his comrades to Creepox because of his strength and arrogance.

Notes[]
- Shadow Serpent is the first monster of Power Rangers Megaforce to be faced by the Gosei Great Grand Megazord.
- In the Japanese version, Uobouzu of the Nessie, Shadow Serpent's Goseiger counterpart is actually theme on both a millipede and a Lock Ness Monster, the formal hints why Shadow Serpent has leg-like appendages on his neck area, and the later of which hints why the Shadow Serpent can breath underwater.
- The reason why in Power Rangers Megaforce, Shadow Serpent is considered a serpent and/or a snail rather then a both a millipede and a Lock Ness Monster is most likely due to how his head is serpent-like and also how Shadow Serpent's "hump"/back middle-area looks more like a snail's shell.
