Selena Repulsa is the daughter of Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd in the alternate universe series, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Return. She acted as the supposed relative of Trini Kwan and sought to destroy the Power Rangers. Later, using the Sabertooth Tiger Power Coin, she became a version of the Yellow Ranger of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Young Selena.
In 2023, at the old ruins of the Command Center, Jason falls down and struggles to fight a shadow in the darkness. The Red Ranger continues to attack his assailant with his Blade Blaster but eventually gets defeated and has his Power Coin taken from him by the shadow. He demands to know who she is and she simply states that she is the past come back to haunt him… and the future as she holds up his Coin.
Selena, disguised as Trini's relative, “discovered” her secret identity and somehow obtained her Power Coin. She then followed and tracked down “Ms. Emma Phillips” to Canada and despite being told to leave her alone, Selena knew she was Kimberly Hart, the best friend of her “relative”. She hoped that she would train her to be the next Yellow Ranger, showing her an old photograph of Kimberly and Trini unmasked and Trini’s Power Morpher to try to convince her.

Capturing the Rangers[]
Kimberly decides to tell the story of what happened 22 years ago in the hopes of discouraging Selena from becoming a Power Ranger. She ends the story saying that her husband saved the world that day at the cost of his life. She opens a hidden safe where her morpher is and stores Trini’s morpher inside. Selena asks Kimberly if she thinks there would be anyone like Rita and Zedd again, if the world would need the Power Rangers again. Kimberly says no, with Selena having a sinister grin on her face asking if she is sure about that.
Selena reveals her true nature.
A violent burst of energy erupts out, shattering the windows and lighting in Kimberly’s cabin home as “Selena” reveals herself to be a white haired villainess with Rita Repulsa’s magic wand holding Kimberly’s morpher: “How about now?”
Kimberly knocks the morpher out of Selena's hand and dives for it shouting: “It’s Morphin Time!”, but gets whacked hard on the head with Selena’s wand and knocked out before she can even start morphing. Selena takes the morpher back and says that she really doesn’t think it is. COMIC STORY- MMPR: The Return #2
Kimberly wakes up to Jason, Zack and Billy all trapped inside a force field. Selena reveals that she isn't related to any of the Rangers but is actually Selena Repulsa, the daughter of Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd. Billy guessed that she must've tracked them down through their Power Coins. Selena confirms this through search of Zack's social media, Trini's safety deposit box, and Kimberly's arrival at the memorial service. Now she planned on keeping their promise on no more Power Rangers but she's not going to kill them, her mother is. Kimberly is shocked to know that Rita is still alive but Selena told them she heard her calls through the Morphin Grid.
The Benevolator killed everyone on the Moon except Rita because she used her magic to transfer her essence into the grid. Selena was able to bring her back with some help from a still alive Finster to the Rangers’ shock. Selena put Finster to work on his biggest project, the Morphin-Matic, an upgraded version of his Monster-Matic machine using Lord Zedd's Z Staff, the Rangers' Power Coins, and the last of his magic clay that she was going to use to bring her mother back.
Selena revealed that her mother saved her by teleporting her via magic. In actuality, when Tommy was about to hit the timer button on the Benevolator, a young Selena walked into the room looking at her mother’s body much to his shock. Finster called in for Putties but Tommy fought them off wanting to save her. When he accidentally hit the button, he gave the young Selena his communicator and teleported her off the Moon.
Now Selena was ready to bring her mother back as Finster activated the machine. Just then the machine went dead. Wondering why it didn't work, Kimberly revealed that Selena only had 5 Power Coins as there were 6 Rangers. Selena scoffed and said that Tommy's Power Coin was destroyed as she had the Putties search for it and never found it. Kimberly said that Tommy wasn't morphed when he activated the Benevolator to which Finster told Selena she was telling the truth. Just then, Finster's sensors went off revealing that the Dragon Power Coin was coming to them. Selena pulled Kimberly out of the forcefield demanding to know where it is as a female Green Ranger teleports in front of the Rangers: Olivia Hart, Kimberly's daughter. Becoming an evil Ranger[]
When Selena finally collected the Dragon Power Coin to power the Morphin-Matic to bring back Rita, Olivia pushed her out of the way and inadvertently brought Tommy back. Selena morphed into a twisted version of the Yellow Ranger and attacked the team. After Olivia gives his morpher back, Tommy morphs into the Green Ranger once again and rejoins his team. Before Kimberly could kill Selena, Tommy recognizes her as the child he teleported to Earth and revealed the truth to her causing her to retreat.
She teleports to the ruins of the old Command Center and throws a tantrum, blasting and smashing everything around her. She laments how close she was to bringing her mother back, only for a mysterious female White Ranger to appear, demanding to know who Selena is and what happened to Zordon. Magic Wand
- Magic Wand: Her mother Rita's main weapon was a large wand which has many abilities.
- Energy Blasts: Fire a pink beam of energy from her staff which explodes on contact.
- Monster Enlargement: Rita's primary ability with the wand. By chanting "magic wand, make my monster/Goldar grow" and throwing her wand to Earth, Rita could open a giant chasm in the ground which gives the monster enough energy to grow.
- Growth Lightning: Grow monsters by hitting them with a purple energy blast from the bottom of her wand.
- Monster Creation: Fire blasts from her staff's gem which can create monsters out of objects.
- Teleportation Beam: Fire a green energy beam from the pink jewel on her wand capable of teleporting other beings around.
Ranger Costume
After failing to bring back her mother from the Morphin Grid, Selena stole the Sabertooth Tiger Power Coin and became a version of the Yellow Ranger.

Etymology[]
- Selena is a feminine given name of Greek origin, meaning "the moon."
- She uses her mother's last name, being a pun on repulsive, i.e. unsightly or vile enough for one to keep their distance from.

- Her existence was briefly hinted at in one episode of the main TV series, when Zedd told Rita that he wanted to have a child with her. He described their child as having "Rita's incredible looks and his brains".
