This article is about a villain base/vehicle in Power Rangers Lost Galaxy. |
The Scorpion Stinger was the spaceship used by Scorpius, Trakeena and their army that sailed through the universe and destroyed planets and civilizations. The spacecraft was shaped like a giant dragonfly with large pincers on its head and tail resembling a scorpion. The pincers on its head could be used to crush enemy spaceships while its tail could be used to shoot lasers.
The ship was at least partially organic judging from the looks of its interior and the fact it had an organic heart instead of a mechanical engine.
The ship's interior consisted of a control room which also doubled as a throne room, a laboratory and a large amount of rooms dedicated to breeding Stingwingers. During the first half of Lost Galaxy the inside of the Scorpion Stinger was seen in red lighting while after Scorpius' death the Stinger was darker and grainier.
The Scorpion Stinger also had the ability to drain the energy of other ships, in case its fuel was depleted.
After Mutiny's Castle emerged from the The Lost Galaxy, the Scorpion Stinger appeared and destroyed the castle along with Captain Mutiny and Barbarax. TV STORY-Escape the Lost Galaxy
Following Trakeena's fusion with Deviot due to the power of the Cocoon, the ruthlessly evil Trakeena then used the Scorpion Stinger to directly attack Terra Venture, which took out the colony's last engine and sent it crashing to the surface of Mirinoi's Moon. Leo Corbett and Damon Henderson managed stop the attack at first by luring the Scorpion Stinger in close and then affixing a bomb to one of its pincers. The bomb blew off part of the pincer and forced the ship to retreat.
Trakeena then sent her entire army of Stingwingers after Terra Venture and attempted to use the Scorpion Stinger to destroy the escape shuttles. The ship came under attack by the Astro Megaship, but the Scorpion Stinger caught the Megaship in its pincers. With no other option, the Galaxy Rangers set the Megaship to self-destruct. The close-range blast severely damaged the Scorpion Stinger and sent it crashing to the moon. The crash effectively destroyed the Scorpion Stinger, fatally wounded Trakeena who had to enter the Cocoon to survive, and presumably killed Kegler. The wreckage was later found by Leo who then followed Trakeena's footprints from the ship to the wreck of Terra Venture's City Dome. TV STORY-Journey's End
Notes[]
- The Scorpion Stinger, like many other aspects of Scorpius and Trakeena's Army, was exclusively created for Power Rangers Lost Galaxy and had no Sentai counterpart.
- The scale of the Scorpion Stinger seemed to change on multiple occasions. At one time, it seemed to be as big as Mutiny's Castle, which could fit on Titanisaur's back, but another time, the Scorpion Stinger was much larger than the Astro Megaship, and was able to easily hold it in its pincers.
