Saburo Aoyama (青山 三郎 Aoyama Saburō) is an ice hockey player and would-be inventor who transforms into GoggleBlue (ゴーグルブルー Gōguru Burū), the Blue Ranger of Goggle-V.

Joining Goggle-V[]
After the computer selection picked five potential people, Saburo as one of them is called by Haruo when he is playing ice hockey. He is brought to Future Science Laboratory located under Korakuen World. Inside the laboratory, he and others meet Dr. Hideki Hongo, who is injured of the Burg Wolf incident. As the Goggle-V team formed, they get their own Goggle Braces. Dr. Hongo calls Saburo as GoggleBlue, with the power of sapphire and ancient Egypt.
When Seashell Mozoo and several Madaramen are attacking the city, Goggle-V comes and fight them. GoggleBlue uses his signature weapon, Blue Ring to defeat the Madaramen. Goggle-V then use ribbons in respective colours given by Goggle Pink to shock Seashell Mozoo. Without giving the Mozoo chance to attack, they finish it with Goggle Victory Flash.
After Fan Kong is summoned (with the revived Seashell Mozoo as the pilot), Goggle Caesar is summoned. Haruo orders GoggleBlue to pilot Goggle Tank. Using Chikyu Gattai Goggle Robo, they succesfully defeat Fan Kong by splitting it into two.
TV STORY-Ep. 1: The Invasion of Dark Science
As GoggleBlue[]
In In order to keep Goggle-V identity and secrecy of Future Science Laboratory, Saburo has to work on Korakuen World. One day, he hears the "a clear day" alert signal from Miki. After the Goggle-V follow a suspicious woman, they are lured into Bird Mozoo's trap. They also fight the woman identifying herself as Mazurka, a Deathdark general. Alas, the Goggle-V struggle with Bird Mozoo's ability to manipulate gravity. Feeling exhausted, they are ordered to retreat. In Future Science Laboratory, Dr. Hongo tells them the goal of Goggle-V is for fighting against Deathdark for righteous science.
While they are ready to fight Bird Mozoo again, the Comboy exploit the syntethic beast's weakness, which gives an advantage. As Bird Mozoo has taken Goggle Yellow's bait, Goggle Red, Black, and Blue uses the 2 seconds cooldown to initiate Triple Attack, which hits its arm. Goggle Blue then provides Goggle Ring to his teammates to weaken Bird Mozoo before the latter is finished by Goggle Victory Flash.
After Bird Mozoo's Fan Kong is eventually destroyed, the entire Future Science Laboratory, including Goggle-V have to bid farewell to Dr. Hongo as he is about travel somewhere. Letting him go, the Goggle-V and the Comboy vow to fight Deathdark while dreaming on a wonderful tomorrow.
TV STORY-Ep. 2: Rise up! Warriors of the Future
When Goggle-V is assigned to guard Dr. Sally, Saburo shows his hospitality to the American scientist as he picks her luggages and permits her to take on his car. Later, they visit Dr. Sally's father's grave as requested, before the Deathdark kidnap them and ask for tsunami research data. They manage to escape, only for Dr. Sally kidnapped again and Saburo get injured. Eventually, Saburo endure his pain to save Dr. Sally. As the woman tells the truth that she is actually a secret agent, Saburo does not show any regret.

Goggle Golden Spear Arc[]
Saburo tries to create his own jet pack, with Futoshi accompanying him for testing the prototype. After the first failure that makes the two quarrel and some fight with Rhino Mozoo, Saburo feels despair until Futoshi convinces him to not give up. In another fight, GoggleBlue uses another prototype of his jet pack to attack Rhino Mozoo.
After the Goggle-V team defeats Rhino Mozoo and Goggle Robo finishes Rhino Kong, Saburo and Futoshi initiate a test on another jet pack prototype. Alas, it explodes on them, making them having a friendly quarrel.

Deathdark V
Deathdark Blue: GoggleBlue's evil counterpart in Deathdark V, a team made of five ninja Madaramen who use a transformation technique similar to Tanuki Mozoo to become the heroes. As with the rest of Deathdark V, Deathdark Blue appears similar to GoggleBlue with slight differences, its scarf is the color of his uniform (blue) instead of pure white, its weapon is black in color and the team introduction pose has their arms going downwards instead of upwards like the Goggle-V entry pose. Also unlike the original GoggleBlue, Deathdark Blue does not have the energy of the sapphire. Deathdark Blue was defeated by the enhanced weapon, Blue Sapphire Jet Ring. Upon defeat, along with the rest of the team, it changed back to an ordinary Madaraman.

Years later, Saburo fought alongside not only his own team, but every single Sentai Ranger in existence, against the Empire of Zangyack when it attacked the Earth in the Great Legend War. After fighting against hundreds of Gomin and their Sugomin commanders, Akarenger noticed the fleet moving towards them. He gathered all the Rangers together and gave them the order to sacrifice their powers to wipe out the first invasion's armada. The GoggleBlue powers are later used by Joe Gibken via the Ranger Keys.

- Saburo Aoyama is portrayed by Shigeki Ishii (石井 茂樹).
- As GoggleBlue, his suit actor was Takanori Shibahara (柴原 孝典), who previously played VulShark.
- In the Korean dub of Goggle-V entitled Earth Task Force Goggle-V, Saburo is renamed Lee Jung-hyun (이정현?), while he keeps his ranger designation (고글 블루 Gageul Beullu?). He was voiced by the late Choi Byeong-sang (최병상?), who also voiced Dr. Iguana in the same series.
Design[]
- GoggleBlue wears a blue cloth suit with a white torso rounded down towards a stripe around the belt-buckle, with a white belt and a buckle in a triangular form; the long top of the triangle is a stretched-out letter "G" with the Arabic number "5" filling the rest. His gloves are white with a blue band around the wrists and the boots are pure white. A pin with the Goggle-V logo is pinned on his left side and a scarf flows around his neck. Beneath the belt is a white pocket where he keeps his Goggle Sabre. The helmet is split in three, with a blue top and a gray mouthpiece at the bottom. His visor is black surrounded in silver similar to the design above. Above the visor is an ornate design with a blue emerald in the center carved in the shape of a triangle, a representation of the number "3".
- The mask of GoggleBlue was designed by Katsushi Murakami (村上 克司 Murakami Katsushi).
Etymology[]
- His surname, Aoyama, literally translates to "blue mountain".

The GoggleBlue Ranger Key (ゴーグルブルーレンジャーキー Gōguru Burū Renjā Kī) is Saburo Aoyama's personal Ranger Key and what became of his powers after he along with the rest of the 34 Super Sentai sacrificed their powers to end the Great Legend War.
This key along with the majority of the Ranger Keys were collected by the Red Pirates and later used by the Gokaigers. The GoggleBlue Ranger Key was mainly used by Joe Gibken (Gokai Blue), who used it to fight as GoggleBlue.
