Rafkon Revealed[1] is the fourteenth episode of Power Rangers Dino Fury season 2, and the thirty-sixth episode overall. It features the debut of Nulleye, and the final appearance of Sizzurai.

Synopsis[]

The Ranger teens head to Rafkon to stop Lord Zedd, but because of a prophecy, Aiyon takes unnecessary risks.

Plot[]

Now that the Rangers know where Rafkon is, they begin preparing for their trip to the planet to stop Lord Zedd. Amelia and Javi return to Dinohenge after asking for the day off from BuzzBlast, while Solon is a little disappointed that she cannot join them on this mission. Zayto admits that he wished going back home would be under better circumstances as he expects Zedd to be one step ahead of them. On the other hand, Aiyon is brimming with confidence as he remembers the Green Morphin Master preserving him to fight Zedd one day, though Ollie doubts that prophecies are real. Still, Aiyon believes he is the one to defeat Lord Zedd, showing Ollie and Javi the Green Morphin Master telling him so while he was in stasis.

The Rangers morph and summon the T-Rex Champion Zord and the Cosmic Raptor Zord, forming the T-Rex Cosmic Megazord. Using it, they transport themselves to Rafkon using the coordinates Ollie shared while he was under Lord Zedd’s mind control. Zayto and Aiyon are in awe of seeing the planet again for the first time in sixty-five million years, only to find no one on the planet after doing a broad wave scan. Ollie amplifies the scanner and gets one notable life form, which they expect to be Lord Zedd and his henchmen. Aiyon teleports down as the others follow him, seeing that Rafkon is now covered in trees and foliage than when they left it while hunting the Sporix. The Rangers demorph and overhear Sizzurai claiming that he found something. However, Scrozzle deems it junk as the rest of the robot generals, including their new companion Nulleye, are at a loss of what they are looking for. Zedd says that they are looking for the Sporix Generator and create more Sporix Beasts to serve as his unstoppable army.

Aiyon jumps out of hiding and confronts Lord Zedd, with the others forced to come out to help him. Scrozzle sends Boomblaster and Nulleye after the Rangers while the rest teleport away to find the generator. The Rangers morph and fight the robot generals and the Hengemen, managing to knock down Nulleye with a combined Dino Fury Force Attack. Nulleye retreats as Boomblaster charges at Zayto. Fortunately, Zayto activates the Dino Knight Armor to turn the tide as the others use the power of the Boost Keys and the Electro Armor to overpower Boomblaster.

Boomblaster retreats as Aiyon complains about everyone running away from him. Zayto chides Aiyon for costing them the element of surprise without a plan and says they must work together if they stand a chance against Zedd. Still, Aiyon boasts that he is destined to beat Zedd, which aggravates Izzy as he has been saying that all day. Zayto suggests they find the Sporix Generator before Zedd does, but Ollie wonders if it even still exists. Aiyon explains that the generator is hidden underground and connected to the planet’s core, meaning that should the generator be damaged or destroyed, Rafkon would cease to exist. Recalling what his father told him and Izzy about what to do when being lost, Javi suggests they get to higher ground and get their bearings.

Back at BuzzBlast, Jane hosts the annual Capture the Flag game at the office, leading the yellow team against J-Borg’s orange team. Although Jane grabs the flag and dances her way to the yellow base, J-Borg unleashes Cyber Coach and fires at her behind, therefore winning the game for the orange team.

As the Rangers reach higher ground, Zayto recognizes the valley as Emoh-ruo, his and Aiyon’s home city. Zayto begins to remember what the city held long ago, though he gets upset when it hits him that everything he remembered no longer stands. Aiyon reminds Zayto that they will be gone soon if they fail to find the Sporix Generator and recalls the military council testing it in the Western Dunes of the planet, and recognizes the location despite the change in scenery. Unknown to the Rangers, Lord Zedd spies on them from afar thanks to Scrozzles’s strategy of letting the Rangers find the generator for them.

The Rangers get to the location, and Amelia finds the control panel for the Sporix Generator. Aiyon discovers the ground panel, but the robot generals confront the Rangers. They morph and fight them, but the distraction is enough for Lord Zedd and Scrozzle to get to the control panel. Scrozzle removes the foliage from the ground panel, allowing Zedd to activate the Sporix Generator and rise it from the ground. This gets the attention of the Rangers as Aiyon goes after Zedd, Zayto chasing after him. Before Scrozzle can begin repairing the generator, Aiyon charges at them, only for Zedd to fire at the Gold Ranger and forcibly demorph him. Zayto activates the Shield Key and blocks a laser attack from Zedd’s Z-Staff, inadvertently directing it to Sizzurai and destroying him. Ollie uses the Freeze Battle Armor to freeze Boomblaster and Nulleye before he and the others go to Zayto. Zedd launches another blast at Zayto, who gets knocked out by the blast as the others come to his side. Zayto passes out from his wounds while Zedd powers up another attack as the other Rangers shield Aiyon and Zayto. Suddenly, an energy field protects the Rangers from Zedd’s attack, and they teleport off Rafkon.

The Rangers return to Dinohenge and immediately take Zayto to the medical bed. Aiyon blames himself for being rash and dependent on the prophecy, but Amelia tells him that feeling sorry for himself will not help Zayto. The Rangers question how they got back to Earth as their teleportation systems cannot reach Rafkon, while Solon sees that Zayto’s vitals are dropping quickly. Suddenly, a portal opens behind them and out comes the Green Morphin Master, promising them that everything will be alright.

Notes[]

  • This is the second and final episode that the entire Void Family is absent from.
  • The package containing members of J-Borg's team with a picture of a horse on it was inspired by the story of the Trojan Horse, which Greeks used to sneak into Troy, and rescue Helen of Troy.
  • Both Jane and J-Borg break the fourth wall in this episode when they tell the viewers about their yearly Capture the Flag game and/or strategies.
  • Solon teases that turning the base into a spaceship is "harder than it looks"; this quick joke becomes a central part of the narrative in Cosmic Fury.
