This article is about a set of grunts in Power Rangers Wild Force. |
The Putrids were Oni-themed foot soldiers used by the Orgs that would rise from a special pink slime to battle the Rangers. They can usually be found fighting with clubs. Their clubs also had the ability to fire blasts of energy. Unlike most Enemy Foot Soldiers, Putrids were not used very often; the role of terrorizing humans and wreaking havoc would usually go to the standard Org soldiers. They resemble newly-improved Putties.

Etymology[]
- Putrid is an adjective that describes an organism in an advanced state of decomposition after death, i.e. in the fourth of seven identified stages of decay as the once-living tissue is broken down and digested. The appearance of the body and the acrid gases given off by putrefaction are oft perceived as intolerable to the living. Similarly, these footsoldiers are born from a pinkish ooze that may or may not have the characteristics of a putrid body.
Notes[]
- Putrids are the second type of primary foot soldiers who do not debut in the first episode of their season. Prior to Wild Force, only the Tenga Warriors from the third season of MMPR had this distinction.
