Praying Mantis was a robotic mantis monster used by Astronema.
History
Praying Mantis was sent by Astronema to take advantage of Zhane's morphing time limit. Astronema attached a digital 2:30 timer strip on Praying Mantis's shoulder and if he could detain Zhane for two and a half minutes, the device would do the rest. When the monster put down his scythe in the ground, it made a fog to hide himself. His shoulder blades could detach and trap Zhane. He was finally destroyed by the Mega Voyager.

- Back in early 2003, shortly after the series changed hands from Saban Entertainment to Disney, some of the monster costumes, including Praying Mantis, were auctioned off by ABC Auctions. It sold for $639.
