Plot[]
Following the events of Darkest Hour and the second Shattering, Rita Repulsa is seen imprisoned in her space dumpster with various colored Morphin Grid energy on her fingers. She paints the image of a new Ranger team and wonders that if evil can be redefined as order and progress, then what signifies good? In what kind of world would a hero be created?
In Angel Grove, the Earth Security Taskforce attempts to capture the fugitive Red Samurai Ranger, Lauren Shiba. When she attempts to morph, one of the guards shoots her Samuraizer and another fires an arrow into her shoulder. After a diversion, she manages to escape by hiding in a dumpster. Markon Zhao finds her there and hides her identity from the Taskforce. He takes her to his dorm he shares with Orion to give her medical treatment while his classmate Jun looks on.
The history of Earth is explained in an Angel Grove University course as Professor Barall asks Mark and Jun to provide their take on when Eltarians came to Earth 70 years ago. Earth was invaded by the Beast Brigade of Gamma VII. The people of Earth never knew Alien contact before and were overwhelmed. Eltar could not stand by as the protectors of the known universe, and Earth was taken under their wing. Humans welcomed them and the Eltarians brought them technology that would have taken them centuries to achieve on their own. Earth then became Eltar's 205th colony.
After class was over, Admiral Janessa arrives at the Eltarian Youth Corps university training grounds, scolding her son Jun for being late again as she greets cadets Ryan Steele and Valentina. She warns Jun that his constant tardiness is a reflection on her and to remember where his allegiance really lies.
Back at Mark and Orion's dorm, the VR Troopers of the Earth Security Taskforce are seen on the local TV news after tracking down mutant criminals in the ski slopes and bringing them to justice. Orion tells Lauren her secret is safe with them as she gives her side of Earth's history going back to the first generation of Samurai Rangers in feudal Japan to the Beast Brigade invasion in 1954. After Earth became an Eltarian colony, Eltar began hunting down Power Rangers including her family.
As Mark heads back home, he sees the EST converging on the dorms to capture Lauren. He runs into Jun outside the dorms who bails him out from a questioning Eltarian guard named Liam. Jun confronts Mark about the blonde Power Ranger hiding in his apartment as a space dumpster launches from the Moon and crash lands nearby carrying Rita Repulsa.
