Production

"Power Rangers Dino Supercharge" was trademarked by Saban Brands in 2014 during the run of Power Rangers Super Megaforce.[1] The season was formally announced via press release on June 8, 2015, with the minor name alteration to "Power Rangers Dino Super Charge".

Plot

"Long ago, an alien named Keeper entrusted the greatest power in the universe to dinosaurs. Millions of years later, the Energems were found, and the evil Sledge fought ruthlessly to steal them, until the rangers finally defeated him. But, from the ashes a new threat arose... Only one team of heroes can stop him; Power Rangers Dino Super Charge!"

The Dino Charge Rangers disband after defeating Sledge, but their job isn't done just yet. One of Sledge's most dangerous criminals, Heckyl, and his alter ego Snide, are aiming to pick up where Sledge left off and harness the power of the Energems to rule the universe. With new weapons, new allies, new zords, and the new T-Rex Super Charge mode, the Rangers are ready to settle the score against one of their most dangerous enemies!

Errors

  • When a Ranger performs the Megazord Finish with the Dino Super Drive Saber, Chase's Para Charger has the T Rex icon on it.
  • During the opening sequence, Kendall’s Ranger form has a different helmet design and lacks a skirt, a result of sloppily editing footage of Kyoryu Cyan.
  • Kendall's Ranger suit in original footage is a darker shade of purple compared to the Sentai footage

Notes

  • This is the first season starting with seven active Rangers in the team. Other adaptations have only six Rangers.
    • If one were to count the Graphite Ranger, there are eight but this Ranger isn't a full-time member.
  • This is the first season to have 10 Rangers.
  • This is also the first Season of Power Rangers to feature the first official Graphite and Aqua Rangers.
  • It was reported that the series will contain elements from the skipped sentai show Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters. This was not the case.[2]
  • This is the second Power Rangers series to have a father and son as Power Rangers on the team, the first being Power Rangers Mystic Force.
  • Similar to how Power Rangers Super Samurai showcased the Mega Modes on official merchandise, this season showed the Rangers in their Dino Super Drive modes.
  • There was a rumored 11th Ranger known as the Talon Ranger who was to be based on Kyoryu Navy, but he didn't make the cut.
    • However, his zord was adapted and reportedly the Dark Energem would have been the counterpart to his Zyudenchi.
  • This season aired concurrent with the Super Sentai series Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger.
  • Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel episode, Echoes of Evil, confirms that the Dino Charge Rangers are in a separate universe when Sledge emerges from the wormhole.
    • This marks Power Rangers Dino (Super) Charge as the second Power Rangers series to be set in an alternate universe since Power Rangers RPM.
  • This is currently the only "super" season in which the titular power-up is not used by the whole team; the Super Charge mode is exclusive to Tyler.
    • This is of course, not counting Dino Super Drive which is in fact used by all 10 Rangers.
      • Counting Dino Super Drive, the next "Super" season, Super Ninja Steel, is similar to Dino Super Charge in that a cockpit mode is the titular "Super" mode but one of the Rangers (Red in the case of Super Charge and Gold in Super Steel) gets their own individual "Super" mode. Breaking this difference, is the Rangers' arsenal and Power Stars being made of Ninja Super Steel which makes their powers in general be the "Super" aspect of that season.
    • It is also the only one that does not debut in the first episode.
