This article is about a/an series entry (the "28th" and the "29th") in the Power Rangers franchise. |
Power Rangers Dino Fury is an American superhero drama serving as an adaptation of the 43rd Super Sentai series Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger, with minimal props and costumes from the 38th Super Sentai series, Ressha Sentai ToQger, and is both the 28th and 29th installments of the Power Rangers franchise. The series is Hasbro's second production under their film division Allspark Pictures & Entertainment One following their acquisition of the franchise and the final to air on Nickelodeon while transitioning to Netflix.
The first season follows Zayto as he recruits a modern team of Rangers to fight against the mysterious Void Knight and recover the Sporix Beasts that once ravaged his planet. The second season follows the advent of the Void Queen who returns to exact revenge on the humans whom she thought had wronged her and her child.
Production[]
Development[]
The decision to adapt Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger was made around April of 2019[2], though it's not specified how COVID-19 affected the show's production choices.[3] On February 22, 2020, Hasbro revealed the Ryusoulger adaptation at the New York Toy Fair 2020, however the official title wasn't revealed yet at the time and simply called Power Rangers Season 28.[4] On May 15, 2020, it was revealed that the adaptation would be called Power Rangers Dino Fury.[5] Executive producer Simon Bennett revealed that Power Rangers Dino Knights was a working title before Hasbro ultimately decided on Dino Fury.[6] "Dino Knight" was later used for the Dino Knight Morpher and its associated form.
Post Production[]
In late April of 2021, it was revealed in an interview with actor Chance Perez that Dino Fury would be moving to the streaming service Netflix for its second season upon the 2021 expiration of the series' contract with Nickelodeon, thus marking the transition of the Power Rangers main series to streaming exclusivity.[7] In late May 2021, the series wrapped up filming.
Synopsis[]
When an army of powerful alien beings are unleashed on Earth, threatening life as we know it, a brand-new team of Power Rangers, fueled by the prehistoric power of the dinosaurs, are recruited to deal with the threat.

Errors[]
- In S1 E2, Zayto says the Rangers have to complete the morph sequence fully to morph, but many times the Rangers morph by simply shouting "Link to Morphing Grid!" and tapping their Dino Fury Morphers.
- After adding the first Sporix to Void Knight's machine, the meter was almost halfway full, but it took more than two more (like it should have) Sporix to activate and save Santuara.
- Void Knight also stated he did not want to hurt any humans in S2, but he explicitly was okay with destroying the Rangers in S1 E21.
Notes[]
- Dino Fury is the first season to have an official female Green Ranger.
- Several cast members from Ryusoulger such as Hayate Ichinose[9], Tatsuya Kishida[10], Keito Tsuna[11], and Seiya Osada[12][13], have publicly acknowledged Dino Fury, with Dino Fury cast members Chance Perez[14] and Kai Moya[15] responding to their Japanese counterparts' kind comments.
- Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bennett stated that Dino Fury will not crossover with other Ranger teams. The show, however, did feature allies from other series.
- Dino Fury is the first season with a dinosaur motif to lack a pterodactyl-based Ranger, though there is a pterodactyl-based Zord.
- Dino Fury was originally scripted to be 22 episodes long in accordance with Nickelodeon's contract, but was picked up for a full 44-episode order[16].
- In some countries, including India, the first season had premiered exclusively on Netflix.
- On May 6, 2022, Dino Fury became the first season of Power Rangers to win a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Kids & Family Programming.
- Dino Fury is the first Power Rangers series to have step-siblings on the Power Ranger team.
- In Indonesia, the RTV dub airing removed scenes that reference Izzy and Fern being partners. The Matchmaker was ended early, and Crossed Wires was skipped.
- In Poland, the episodes Stitched Up, Love Hate and Things Unspoken were skipped when the series aired on TVP ABC.
- In a Twitter Spaces Interview, Simon Bennett confirmed that during filming for Dino Fury, the Void Knight costume had to be sent back to Toei, as its Sentai counterpart, Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger, was still filming post-series content.
