The UNLIMITED POWER era continues as the New Power Rangers – and Lord Drakkon – return to the new universe that Drakkon created in Shattered Grid. But will Drakkon choose to save the New Power Rangers from the surprising threat waiting there for them…or will he betray them?[1]
Plot[]
The Omega Rangers and Drakkon arrived at the disoriented world. XI warned the Rangers that this world is tampering with their sensors and communication, asking if they have sights on their objectives. Trini noticed that this world is not the world they are looking for, Drakkon tried to explain before Jason warned him that they didn't make the mistake of freeing him from his prison back on Earth. Drakkon simply described that this world is an amalgamated mental construct that is spiraling toward erosion. This is the world that the Rangers are looking for since Drakkon wasn't there, it's been shifted. So they have to find it by foot, with Drakkon agreeing to help them.
While walking, the Trini and Jason expressed concern about other planets ravaged by the Empyreal, while Zack was arguing with Drakkon about the reality that he created and the Ranger's lives there before they saw a "ghost tiger". Drakkon explained that these creatures are energy manifestation of the Morphin Grid originally created to destroy Drakon's world. But the creatures were made to be Drakkon's prison guards when the Emissaries locked him away. The Rangers offered, but Drakkon reassured them that he's not in danger but they are since they are not supposed to be here. The energy tiger then chased the Rangers with Zack suggesting to call in their Zords but Jason rejected this idea knowing their won't make it there in time. The Rangers then split up for more cover, Zack and Trini went to hide under the fountain until the "tiger could no longer track them. XI then warn them that he lost track of Drakkon and Jason, and he'll scan for the environment while Zack and Trini continue investigating.
Jason then recovered from the wreckage just as XI was calling to see if he was alright, and Drakkon is gone. XI suggest to get the other Rangers, but Jason decided to let them keep looking as he found the remains of the Red Emissary, and he and XI need to found out who did this. Meanwhile, Zack and Trini were still investigating until they discovered a Tyrannosaurus Sentry in sport armor, they then continue inside the building where they discovered more Sentries, they then discovered Drakkon destroying his sentries, when he's done, Trini asked how long he has been here. Drakkon answered that he didn't know as time worked differently in this place, as he realized that in this place, there is a never-ending existence. Trini and Zack offered some condolence but Drakkon didn't want to hear them before an energy bear attacked them. Before it can finished off Trini and Drakkon, Zack got its attention and stomped on him, Trini and Drakkon reacted in horror, only for Zack to reveal that he used a Mastodon Sentry as a decoy for them to escape the energy bear so that XI can teleport them to the Spectrum II, trying to avoid the energy phoenix. When it damaged the ship's starboard engine, the Rangers used the Zord debris to slow it down allowing them to escape off the planet.
In the ship, XI reconstructed the Red Emissary's remains and found no traces of energy signatures for the Rangers to track down the Empyreal, they then found a piece of the Red Emissary missing, realizing they could've scan for the Emissary's signature instead. XI then started scanning before telling the Rangers that they need to repair the ship's starboard engine. Drakkon revealed that he knows a place:
Planet Onyx, where a group of aliens were having a conversation about the enemy responsible for Gorvinos III's destruction.
