Ed "Pop-Pop" Jones, is a handyman in Pine Ridge from Power Rangers Dino Fury and the adoptive grandfather of Amelia Jones, whom he would affectionately call her Nugget. He later became Poppy's namesake.
History[]
Early Life[]
In his early days, Pop-Pop worked at Area 62, where he saw all kinds of unusual things, including Tarrick, Santaura and their infant daughter, whom he took in as a grandchild, naming her Amelia when an experiment had caused a mass explosion and they entrusted her to him. After the events, Ed became a handyman, he still never told anyone about the things he saw there as it was top secret.

He later went to McClary Manor for maintenance, but was scared away by what he thought was a ghost, but was a Sporix beast called Tombtress, who was looking for the Dimetro Battle Key, which he finds and gave to the Pink Ranger, unaware that it was Amelia and had a heart to heart conversation with her about Amelia's parents. Later, his attempts to repair Jane's air conditioner were unsuccessful, as it made the temperature in her office change from cool and breezy to extremely hot and then to bitter cold. He's observed by the Rangers removing leaves from the gutter of a building. The leaf blower doesn't work, and he falls off the ladder into a pile of leaves. Izzy agrees to fix the machine.
He meets Beatrice Cotton, a woman about his age, and the curator of the Pine Ridge Museum. She goes on a date with him that ends in disaster until he changes back into his work clothes.
He, Dr. Akana, and Beatrice accompany the Rangers to Dinohenge, where two new Dino Fury Keys are uncovered.
Seeing that Aiyon is still feeling down after buying lots of things for himself, he encourages the Gold Dino Fury Ranger to give it all away. Aiyon follows his advice, and begins by giving him his new jacket.
At the Songathon, Ed sings a song about his work called "I Can Fix It," while playing a fiddle. The judges are unimpressed by his performance.
When Amelia interviews him at Area 62, he wears a hazmat suit, convinced that there's radiation in the area, though Amelia, Stan, and Annie tell him otherwise. He even mistakes Stan's phone alert for a radiation alarm and blueberry juice stains for radiation blotches. Upon discovering the truth, he asks them to try it, but they decline. Later, at BuzzBlast, he and Jane show off a blueberry pie that ends up on J-Borg.
When the Rafkonians arrive to take over Earth, he saves Orria from Fogshell's attack, but gets himself badly hurt as a result. Orria realizes that not all humans are evil. Amelia reveals her identity to him, and teleports him to Dino Henge. Solon gives him a special medicine, and he tells Amelia she's actually an alien.
Ed finally tells Amelia that Tarrick and Santaura are her real parents, and that they told him to take her when they were trapped in Area 62 during an explosion.
After the Nemesis Beast is destroyed, and Santaura is restored to normal, Ed's final job is to renovate Area 62 into a permanent home for the Rafkonians. TV STORY-The Nemesis

When the Rangers returned from Zordnia, following their failure to defeat Zedd, due to Zayto being sent through a cosmic portal, Ollie being corrupted, and Javi losing his right arm, Ed tries to stop the others from arguing over plans, but ends up in the argument herself before Solon, on Amelia's insistence, roared to silence them. After the meeting, Ed attempted to comfort Amelia over Ollie's corruption. TV STORY-Lightning Strikes
When the Rangers left Earth and Lord Zedd started to occupy Earth, Ed joins Tarrick's resistance and manages to smuggle some Transponders from Grid Battleforce to use against the Zentinels to free the Rangers and captured citizens, later guiding them away from the prison. After Zedd's defeat, Ed joins the Rangers as they attend Javi's concert, later shown a photo of Amelia's newborn sister, whom Tarrick and Santaura named Poppy, after his nickname, making him express her as 'another little nugget'. He then joined them in storming the stage to celebrate with Javi. TV STORY-The End
Personality[]
Ed Jones is a bubbly, compassionate and kind-hearted old man, and is a big believer in the supernatural. For example, He was convinced that McClary Manor was haunted by ghosts. His belief in the Supernatural is a trait that he ended up passing on to Amelia, although this is justified as Ed had experienced plenty of supernatural phenomena firsthand during his time at Area 62. It was there that Ed met Tarrick and Santaura, who entrusted Ed with their daughter, though Ed would keep this a secret from Amelia for many years. Despite not being a fighter, Ed is willing to risk his life to protect people, even complete strangers like Orria. The injury Ed gets protecting Orria is what causes him to decide it was time to tell Amelia the truth, although Ed ends up recovering from his injury and continues to be an important part of Amelia's family.
