Pineoctopus was a pineapple-like plant monster who served as the main antagonist of the episode "No Clowning Around."
History
Mighty Morphin
Pineoctopus is created by Finster and takes the form of Pineapple the Clown to infilate a fairground with an army of Putty Patrollers to destroy the Power Rangers.
According to Finster, he personally trained Pineoctopus before releasing him as Pineapple the Clown. Pineoctopus first appears as Pineapple when he tells a Putty in disguise as a clown that they will get them.
He first gets Jason, Billy, Zack and Kimberly's attention in a show by juggling pineapples with Trini and her cousin Sylvia watching on. Afterwards he gives Billy four eggs to juggle which he uses to hit Bulk and Skull with before the Rangers leave to go see gymnastics which gives Pineapple an idea.
As the Rangers try to do gymnastics later on, however, Pineapple gets Sylvia's attention as they walk around the fair with Trini going around to find them. After bringing Sylvia in front of a Merry-Go-Round he does tricks.
Trini manages to find them but she gets stopped by Sylvia saying that he is her friend. Pineapple then sprinkles Sylvia with powder, turning her into cardboard much to the complete horror of Trini before he runs off in a flash.
He later appears in front of Jason, Zack, Kimberly and Billy with an army of clowns and he uses some balls to turn them into Putties to distract Jason, Zack and Kimberly, while Billy follows Pineapple into a Merry-Go-Round. He attempts to turn Billy into cardboard but he misses and hits a Putty instead.
He then gets cornered by Jason, Zack and Kimberly and thus transforms into his real form as Pineoctopus. The Rangers morph and take on Pineoctopus but he is aided by Baboo, Squatt, Goldar and the huge army of Putties, allowing the monster to escape into the nearby fields. As Goldar fights the Rangers, Pineoctopus uses his powder on the Rangers but, because of their Ranger suits, it has no effect aside from making them sneeze violently. Using his vines, however, he still manages to overpower all four Rangers and was enlarged by Rita Repulsa.
After Trini arrives, having helped Alpha to restore Sylvia, the Rangers summon the Dinozords to battle Pineoctopus. They first use the Triceratops Dinozord's chains to tie up this monster and then freeze him with the Mastodon Dinozord's freeze blast.
They then combine to form the Megazord Tank Mode to blast him with the cannons, but they aren't enough so they then switch to Battle Mode and vaporize Pineoctopus with the Cranial Laser. TV STORY-No Clowning Around
Later on, when the Rangers are sent to the Island of Illusion by Lokar, they are attacked by the illusions of monsters that they had already defeated, one of which is Pineoctopus. However, the monsters disappear before getting too close and don't harm anyone. TV STORY-Island of Illusion
Pineoctopus is part of Rita and Lord Zedd's army in the Vica Galaxy when they and the United Alliance of Evil invade the universe. He is vaporized by Zordon's Energy Wave. TV STORY-Countdown to Destruction
Godzilla vs. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
When Rita Repulsa apparently defeated Tommy Oliver, she reveals her malefic plan, after destroying this world, she to betray the Xiliens in her vision, using the multiversal focus to return her dimension with the Toho Kaijus under her control combined with her monsters including Pineoctopus to destroying Zordon, the Power Rangers and Angel Grove. As Pineapple the clown, the Pineoctopus acted very much like a clown or a jester. He is a loony prankster that loves to do tricks and entertain park guests, but deep down, however, he was very evil and went so far as to turn Trini's cousin into cardboard. As the Pineoctopus, he was a ruthless being that will do anything in his power to destroy the Power Rangers. Interestingly enough, once his façade as Pineapple the Clown disappeared, he displayed very few clown-like personality traits and only made a single clown pun. He was, however, very overconfident in his abilities and, once made giant, responded to unfavorable situations with a dismissive "big deal", such as when he was informed that Sylvia was restored or when the Triceratops applied its hooks to bind him.

Notes
- The Pineoctopus was the very first Power Rangers monster to take on a human form.
- In Zyuranger, Pineoctopus' dust was a sneezing powder that was meant to leave them in such sneezing fits that they would be unable to defend themselves. This is why the Power Rangers as well as Goldar, Squatt, and Baboo all started sneezing from his powder and did not turn to cardboard.
