This article is about an episode in Power Rangers Jungle Fury. |
Path of the Righteous is the thirty-first episode of Power Rangers Jungle Fury. It is the fifth episode of the six-episode endgame arc. It features the final fight between Casey and the possessed Jarrod, Jarrod's release from Dai Shi's control and Camille's betrayal to Dai Shi, and Casey earning his Master's Stripes.
Synopsis[]
Nobody believes him, but Casey knows that Jarrod still lives inside of Dai Shi. He goes off on his own to save Jarrod. On his way to Dai Shi's temple, Master Mao attempts to dissuade Casey from rushing in; convinced that the Ranger is simply doing this out of guilt for Jarrod's possession, which he feels responsible for. However, Casey is insistent and rushes to the temple anyway. In an epic battle between Dai Shi and Casey, Jarrod manages to break free of Dai Shi, with Camille assisting the two. They are cornered by Generals Scorch and Snapper, but the other Power Rangers arrive to assist them in dispatching the enemies for good. For following his heart, Casey gets his Master Stripes. Despite his newfound goodness, however, Jarrod is fearful of getting involved, and he and Camille simply leave.
Plot[]
Casey walks into Jungle Karma Pizza and begins pulling the chairs from the table and placing them on the floor, unaware that Dominic is inside. Dominic is sitting in a booth, reading a book when Casey walks in. Dominic notes that Casey looks wrecked and asked if he's fine. Casey is still in a dilemma over Jarrod, Dominic recommends reading a book as he does so to ease his worries, recommending "To Kill A Mockingbird", a book about redemption that Fran had loaned him. Casey pulls up a chair and asks Dominic about Jarrod. Dominic tells them they were roommates and how he didn't really fit. Once in awhile, Jarrod talk about his parents, but they weren't around much. Dominic got the impression no one really cared about Jarrod. Dominic wants to know why Casey is curious, but when he glances over, Casey is gone.
Inside the temple grounds, Snapper helps himself to breakfast by having black leaves and cockroaches when Camille ambushes him. She gets the upper hand over the general and demands to know why they had tried to destroy her. Snapper admits that they did so because she is drawing out Jarrod's humanity and causing Dai Shi to waver. Camille defends herself stating that she only loves Dai Shi, but when Snapper asks if she's sure, she hesitates to find her real feelings.
Theo, Lily and Fran are in the loft. Theo is floating in the air and eating chips. Fran is sweeping up. Theo comments on how hard Casey is taking failing the Master's test. Lily doesn't blame him, as he had worked just as hard as they had. But Lily doesn't see any reason why she and Theo can't celebrate their success. Lily reminds Theo that it is the second Tuesday and wants to know what they will be doing. Theo tells her since they are Masters now, they should just prepare themselves for training. Lily is disappointed, but tells Theo she will go ahead and open Jungle Karma Pizza and she leaves. Theo floats down and Fran walks over to him. Fran tells Theo she can't believe he turn down a date with Lily, as everyone knows he likes her. Theo admits it, but he believes that Lily only wants to be friends. Fran reminds Theo that he had never asked her out for a date, giving him something to think about.
Casey makes his way towards the temple when Mao manifests in front of him and demands him to stop what he's doing. Casey defends himself stating that he knows that Jarrod is inside and regretful of what Dai Shi is forcing him to do, believing that he can reach out to him and give him the push he needs to expel the evil dragon. Mao believes that Casey is doing so out of guilt and that he is either trying to redeem Jarrod or himself. Casey ignores and walks right past his spirit, reaching the temple and eliminating all of the Rinshi present before confronting Dai Shi, who is pleased that he had the courage to come and fight him. He roars at Casey, but he is unfazed by the show of power.
Camille watches Dai Shi and Casey fight each other. Dai Shi claims that he's in full control of Jarrod's body, but Casey takes none of it.
Back at the pizza parlor, Theo, Lily and Dominic wonder what's going on with Casey when Fran runs in and tells them to come up to the loft. Through a recording that has a short delay, they find Casey walking into the temple. The three Rangers try to rush out and help Casey, but RJ arrives, telling them to stay as they must not intervene in Casey's destiny, causing them much anxiety.
Back at the temple, Dai Shi initially gets the upper hand, but Casey refuses to give in and eventually overpowers him. Dai Shi demands that Casey destroy him, but he refuses to do so and allows the dragon spirit to destroy him instead. Dai Shi eagerly takes this offer and tries to finish Casey, but Jarrod stops him from performing the act and expels him from his body. Dai Shi becomes enraged at Jarrod's defiance and begins to suck his Rinzin powers. Camille, who was still watching, realizes that she has fallen for Jarrod and jumps in, only for her to have her Rinzin taken too. Dai Shi is equally as enraged towards Camille for siding with humanity and tries to attack them, but is held at bay by Casey's Tiger Spirit. Dai Shi then orders Scorch and Snapper to eliminate the trio.
Back at the loft, the group sees the trio leave the temple, much to their relief. With Casey's part done, RJ states that it's their time to help them now. Casey is relieved to see Jarrod return to normal, who thanks him for saving him. They are then attacked by Snapper and Scorch, who prepare to finish them off.
Before the two generals can strike again, the rest of the Rangers arrive. After making sure Casey, Jarrod, and Camille are okay, they prepare to fight the two. Casey morphs as Jarrod and Camille don their armor. Casey, Theo and Lily go into Jungle Master Mode. The battle begins. Casey and Jarrod battle Scorch, while the rest fight Snapper. At one point of the battle, Lily is knocked to the ground. Camille stands protectively in front of Lily and blocks the blows. Theo, Lily, RJ and Dominic and Camille eventually destroy Snapper, while Casey and Jarrod manage to do the same onto Scorch.
However, he returns in a giant form, forcing the Rangers to summon their Zords, including the Lion and Chameleon Zords and form the Megazord. All the Rangers, Jarrod, and Camille are in the Megazord and the battle continues. It is difficult, but eventually, they defeat General Scorch.
After the battle, everyone is thrilled with their victory and there a lot of hugs. Lily and Theo hug. Theo gazes at Lily with admiration and when Lily asks him what, Theo promises to tell her later. Jarrod and Casey shake hands. Master Stripes appear on Casey's arm and he is thrilled. Casey asks RJ why the stripes had appeared, in which he tells him that a master knows, not asks, which he had done when he went to save Jarrod. Jarrod kneels before Casey and tells him he is ready for his punishment. Casey tells him there is no punishment and adds that they need them. Jarrod, however, is filled with guilt over his past actions and decides there is no place for him on the team so leaves with Camille.
Meanwhile, inside the temple, Dai Shi is instructing the Rinshi to gather more fear as Scorch stumbles in, having somehow survived the battle. Scorch is eager to have the Rinshi gather fear to destroy the Rangers, while Dai Shi is eager to begin the next Beast War.

Errors[]
- The analogy that Dominic made to To Kill a Mockingbird is technically incorrect, though a rebuttal could be made that in the Power Rangers universe the book is slightly different. The book Domonic is reading also appears to be much shorter and thinner than the real-life paperback versions of the book.
- Jarrod’s Lion Spirit appears in 2 different forms.
- When Snapper was ambushed by Camille the candles were off to prevent the suit from burning.
Notes[]
- Jarrod is freed from Dai Shi and Camille became good in this episode. This enables them to summon their Animal Spirits as well as piloting the Megazord with the Rangers. This is the only episode where it's seen.
- It's revealed that Jarrod and Dominic used to be roommates during their first year at Pai Zhuq.
- Theo and Lily's default suits don't make an appearance in this episode instead they remain in their Jungle Master Modes.
- Dai Shi used his traditional black lion armor for the first time since becoming the Phantom Beast King although he eventually upgrades to his advanced armor.
- The title if this episode is similar to "Path of the Rhino" which was released about four months earlier. The only difference however is that the word “Rhino” is replaced with “Righteous.”
