Oysterizer was an oyster-themed monster who served as the primary antagonist of the final episode of Season 1, "An Oyster Stew".

History

Oysterizer was a monster who had a past with Rita and yet managed to escape the war with Zordon in the past. The source of his power came from a large pearl within a clam called the Ecocyte Pearl. Oysterizer went into hibernation for at least 10,000 years until Rita awoke him in the present after Goldar recommended him when she planned to ruin a date Zack had set up between himself and Angela. The plan was then to send Oysterizer out into the ocean and poison the Earth into oblivion since there would be no one left to oppose him. After Zack finally got Angela to join a double date with Kimberly and Tommy, Rita subsequently got into contact with him through her crystal ball and Oysterizer gave her the Pearls of Stillness, a set of pearl earrings which could "render anyone near enough to them as still as statues.". A Putty gave him the Pearls which he in turn gave to Angela which successfully paralyzed everyone (including the other Power Rangers who came to warn their friends) except for Zack and Tommy because they went to the restroom which was apparently too far for the Pearls' magical effects to reach.

Zack and Tommy were subsequently sent to Angel Grove Beach by Zordon to fight Oysterizer and prevent him from poisoning the ocean. Due to the size of the beach, Tommy investigated the south of the beach whilst Zack examined the beach although Oysterizer then back flipped out of the sea and confronted Zack, instantly jump punching him down upon exiting the water. The monster then fought with Zack but he immediately gained the upper hand by firing his Acid Gel at him and blasted him to the ground with his Energy Stream. However, Tommy intervened before Oysterizer could make the final strike on the Black Ranger and cut him down with the Dragon Dagger before giving Zack his Dragon Shield. However, Oysterizer recovered and took down Tommy with more of his acid gel although Zack managed to defeat Oysterizer with a devastating jump punch to the chest. However. Oysterizer escaped because it knocked him into the ocean although the Pearls of Stillness' spell was broken by this in the process.

With Tommy weakened by the venom and writhing on the beach, the Rangers deployed alone in the Megazord and went to the ocean floor where they successfully destroyed the Ecocyte Pearl with its Cranial Laser. However, Oysterizer had apparently made himself grow underwater and had been standing nearby. The destruction enraged the monster and he went all out on the Megazord, easily gaining the upper hand and knocking it flat with a powerful double punch to the chest. The Rangers realized that the Megazord was not suited for underwater combat and was thus at a disadvantage so contacted Tommy on the beach. The Dragonzord was summoned and was able to knock him back onto dry land with one tail swing. However, Oysterizer immediately recovered and gained the upper hand again by shoulder ramming the Dragonzord back. He then summoned his personal weapon which was a dagger and pearl connected by a chain before smacking it back with the pearl before tying it up. Oysterizer then pulled it forward at which point he disabled it with his Acid Gel and blasted it to the ground with his Energy Stream. Luckily, the Megazord was able to cut the chain with its Power Sword and free the Dragonzord from the acid gel before the Oysterizer could make the final strike. Oysterizer charged at them but the Dragonzord was able to use his missile attack on Oysterizer, knocking him flat before the Megazord finishes him off with an energy slash. Years later, Oysterizer was one of many monsters who were attempting to take over the universe for the United Alliance of Evil. He was seen in the army of Rita and Zedd and the army of the Machine Empire with him likely being sent to the latter as an act of good will. He was vaporized offscreen by the Z-Wave. Personality

Oysterizer was a sadist who took great pleasure in destroying the Rangers yet he is also quite protective of his Pearls of Stillness, as shown that he got highly enraged when he saw the Megazord smashed it.

Powers and Abilities

Being the final monster sent by Rita, Oysterizer is one of the strongest and most powerful monster in the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, while previous monsters are powerful due to either their strength (such as Lizzinator) and/or displaying powerful abilities (such as Goatan), Oysterizer is shown powerful enough to overpower both the Dino Megazord and even the Dragonzord with ease, as well as having the ability that can immobilized his enemies. Additionally, not only was Oysterizer the only monster to escape the war with Zordon in the past (hinting at his pure strength), but he also posses Rita's Pearl of Stillness, which is among one of Rita's most dangerous weapons.

Powers

  • Extraordinary Jumper: Oysterizer can back-flip out of the ocean from the sea floor.
  • Extraordinary Leaper: Oysterizer can leap at an incredible distances.
  • Pollution: According to both Goldar and Zordon, Oysterizer can both pollute the ocean and kill all sea life.
  • Acidic Gel: From the holes in his body, Oysterizer could spray pink gel that can burn anyone or anything. Anyone hit by it will be immobilized and unable to move.
  • Energy Stream: Oysterizer can fire a strong orange colored energy stream from his pearl-like face, which is strong enough to knock down Zack and later the Dragonzord with one hit each.
  • Self Growth: Oysterizer seemed to be able to grow himself underwater, just appearing giant after the Pearls of Stillness were destroyed without the wand tossing.

Abilities

  • Strength: Oysterizer is stronger then the other monsters, knocking back the Megazord with single punches and kicks as well as managing to take it down with a single double punch to the chest.
  • Durability: Oysterizer has thick and durable skin which makes it resistant to attacks from his enemies. In the episode, Oysterizer was merely knocked down by the Dragonzord's missiles and was able to immediately recover.
  • Sight: Oysterizer was somehow able to see without having any visible eyes.
  • Underwater Breathing: Oysterizer could very clearly breathe underwater.
  • Adapt Swimmer: Being an Oyster-theme monster, Oysterizer can both swim and move freely underwater.
