Numero Uno[3] is the first episode of Power Rangers Dino Fury Season 2, and the twenty-third episode overall. It marks the return of Void Knight since his defeat in the last season's finale.

Synopsis[]

Amelia is busy running BuzzBlast while Jane is away and can't believe that Void Knight could be back. But when her busyness causes problems for the team, she realizes she must commit to protecting the city from evil.

Plot[]

The episode begins with a fly-themed Sporix Beast attacking civilians in the downtown area of Pine Ridge. Fortunately, the Power Rangers, minus Amelia, confront the Sporix Beast and overwhelm him. Javi neutralizes the Sporix Beast with a Stego Fury Strike, and Izzy claims the Sporix Cell the Beast turned back into. Amelia teleports down after the fight ends, apologizing for being late. It is revealed that Jane and J-Borg have gone off on a video tour of the world, leaving Amelia to run BuzzBlast in their absence. However, Amelia is stressed by the new responsibilities as the employees keep asking her questions about videos and trying to clean up messes caused by others. Jane calls Amelia and tells her that she and J-Borg will extend their trip. Jane asks Amelia if she could run BuzzBlast for a few more months, and the latter hesitates on an answer before the former hangs up.

Back at Dinohenge, Ollie finishes a video call with his mother as she went to Japan for research. Zayto and Aiyon look at a star map to see if they could find Rafkon, with the knowledge that their homeworld has three suns. However, Solon knows that a lot could have changed in the past 65-million years ago, including the planet moving from its original orbit. Per Ollie's suggestion, Aiyon goes out to the library to pick up books on star maps and locations.

At Area 62, Slyther and Mucus plan on breaking into Void Knight's secret room after the latter's supposed death by the Rangers at Dinohenge. However, their wrecking ball plan fails as it barely makes a dent on the door. Suddenly, the monitor activates and a screen of Void Knight's helmet appears. Void Knight reveals he survived the explosion and asks his henchmen to gather something for him. Mucus doubts that Void Knight is alive, but an electronic-themed Sporix Beast by the name of Bitscreem appears from their tablet. Bitscreem confirms that Void Knight is still alive and demands that the two follow his orders.

Meanwhile, Aiyon gets the books he needs for the search for Rafkon as Izzy gets a call from Fern. However, her phone glitches up and Bitscreem materializes from it. Izzy, Aiyon, and Javi morph, but Bitscreem attacks the Gold Ranger when the latter tries to put his books down. The trio fights against Bitscreem, but the latter rematerializes from Javi's Stego Fury Strike. Then, the trio uses a combo of Boost Keys to overwhelm Bitscreem, but the latter vanishes with no trace of his Sporix Cell. Once the battle ends, Aiyon gets his books as the owner of a flower cart cries as the fight broke it. Javi uses the Fix-It Dino Key to repair the cart to make up to the flower cart owner. Just after Javi finishes, Bitscreem appears from a security cam and steals the Fix-It Dino Key from Javi.

The Rangers regroup at Dinohenge to figure out what is going on, though Amelia is distracted by BuzzBlast work to join in on the conversation. Izzy wonders why Bitscreem stole the Fix-It Dino Key from them since it's useless without a Chromafury Saber to activate its powers. However, they piece together that Bitscreem could be working for Void Knight as he never went on a rampage like other Sporix Beasts in the past. Amelia doubts that Void Knight survived the explosion, but the others are willing to investigate further to find out what happens. Izzy recalls how Bitscreem exited from the security cam, and Ollie finds the footage from the area. As Amelia leaves to help BuzzBlast to help with the servers, the others review the footage. They see Bitscreem steal the Fix-It Dino Key from Javi and another footage that shows that the flower cart owner was Slyther in disguise. Then, they see Slyther and Mucus look at a tablet as if they were taking orders from somebody. Zayto says that if Void Knight is back, they must deal with the situation before he does any more damage.

Before Izzy could bring Amelia back to Dinohenge, she sees a glitch in Ollie's laptop and gets a realization. Recalling that the same glitch affected her phone, Izzy immediately realizes that Bitscreem is spying on them. Taking advantage of it, Izzy abruptly suggests destroying Void Knight's Saber before Bitscreem gets to it. The other Rangers are confused by this, but Izzy tells them that Bitscreem was listening to them. Bitscreem relays the news to Void Knight but promises to get it back by playing smart.

Outside Dinohenge, the Rangers surround Void Knight's Saber with explosives, but Amelia still doubts that Void Knight is alive. As Amelia gets another call from BuzzBlast, the Rangers get to their positions and make their presence known so Void Knight's henchmen would go after the Saber. Getting annoyed by the supposed waste of time, Amelia takes Ollie's laptop and joins in on the scheme. She has the others hide in the bushes, only to get a call from BuzzBlast. Amelia puts the phone on speaker, just as Slyther and Mucus teleport behind the other Rangers. Bitscreem takes advantage of the distracted Amelia and teleports from her phone to retrieve the Saber.

With the plan ruined, the Rangers have no idea if Void Knight is alive. However, Zayto turns his team to fight against Mucus and Slyther, leading them in a morph. However, Mucus and Slyther teleport away as Bitscreem taunts them from Ollie's laptop. Undaunted, Zayto calls for the T-Rex Champion Zord and the Cosmic Raptor Zords, forming the T-Rex Cosmic Megazord. Zayto uses the portal gun to teleport the Megazord into the laptop to fight against Bitscreem. Zayto blasts at Bitscreem, but the latter regenerates and attacks with a Hack Attack. In response, Zayto summons the Mega Fury Saber and attacks with the Cosmic Fury Strike, neutralizing Bitscreem.

At Area 62, Void Knight uses his reclaimed Saber and the Fix-It Dino Key to repair his armor. Once fixed, Void Knight promises Santaura that the wait is almost over. Back in the woods, the Rangers try to find Bitscreem's Sporix Cell but cannot find it. However, Ollie's laptop overheats and explodes, leaving a Sporix Cell remaining in the wreckage. Before the Rangers claim it, Void Knight teleports down and claims the Sporix Cell. He mockingly thanks the Rangers for helping him out before heading to Area 62.

Back at BuzzBlast, the Rangers confirm that Void Knight is back, and Amelia feels terrible that she let her job distract her from the threat of the day. Amelia knows she cannot juggle both Buzzblast and being a Power Ranger simultaneously and decides that she must call Jane and turn down the offer from earlier. Fortunately, Jane and J-Borg are back from their trip, having crashed their hot air balloon due to the weather. They bring back their footage, but it disintegrates from the crash, rendering their trip worthless. With Jane back, Amelia is happy she can refocus her efforts with the other Rangers.

Notes[]

  • Total Sporix Beasts Collected:
    • Void Knight: 11
    • Dino Fury Rangers: 12
  • Since the series' transition to Netflix, this is the first episode to premiere exclusively on the service.
  • Dr. Akana is at the Ishinomori Institute in Japan, a direct reference to Shotaro Ishinomori, creator of Gorenger and JAKQ, which would become Super Sentai, which Power Rangers is based on.
  • This is the only episode in where the Chromafury Saber is directly mentioned by its name.
  • Slyther's flower cart owner disguise parodies the voice and mannerisms of the kind of wimpy/whiny characters that were played by comedian Joe Besser.
